Pemberley is Ambushed by Uninvited Guests!
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Eagerly anticipating a peaceful and private first Christmas together, Elizabeth Darcy has the greenery hung around Pemberley a little early, even though is supposedly unlucky to do so. But her ideas of a quiet Christmas season are ruined when a horde of uninvited family members come to avail of themselves of Pemberley’s hospitality!
Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are the first to arrive because Mrs. Bennet is convinced the French will soon attack England, and that the farther north she goes the safer she will be. Georgiana arrives unexpectedly to escape Lady Catherine and her unbearable matchmaking. But that ends up backfiring as the old dragon follows her to Pemberley with two suitors in tow! A concerned Colonel Fitzwilliam travels to Pemberley to ascertain Georgiana’s well-being. And last but not least, the Wickhams descend upon Pemberley, thinking their presence most desired and their welcome assured. What can Darcy and Elizabeth do but try to entertain all these hard-to-please guests and pray that they will depart before Twelfth Night…
This playful holiday sequel novella by Victoria Kincaid is the perfect book to enjoy through the chaotic and bustling holiday season! It is light, fast-paced, and the antics of these characters will definitely make you laugh out loud more than once! Those who’ve read Chaos Comes to Longbourn, know that Victoria Kincaid has a wicked sense of humor and a talent for channeling Jane Austen’s more eccentric and exasperating characters! 🙂 She continues to do that superbly in her latest release!
But what I especially loved about this novella was how Victoria Kincaid intermingled the festivities and comedy of her spirited holiday tale with a bit of drama and romance. I admire and appreciate how seamlessly and skillfully Ms. Kincaid was able to combine and interweave all these different components together. Lady Catherine, Lydia, and Mrs. Bennet, and Mr. Worthy brilliant served as comical reliefs. Drama was infused into the story through Mr. Wickham and his latest unscrupulous scheme, Colonel Fitzwilliam’s mysterious meetings, and the stress and tension between Mr. and Mrs. Darcy as they deal with their families and own personal dilemmas and insecurities.
And the romance, which was a lovely surprise, came from an unsuspecting Georgiana. While one of Lady Catherine’s matches is an epic fail, the other makes Georgiana question what it feels like to fall in love and what kind of marriage she would like to have. But is he the right match for her? Or is there someone else? Oh, I don’t want to give any of the surprises away, but I’ll just say that this storyline was definitely my favorite and I loved seeing these characters realize their true feelings and hope against hope that their love is returned. It was both adorable and tender! 🙂
Just like Pemberley, this holiday novella is jam-packed with lively characters, holiday merriment, bits of drama, and sweet surprises! An excellent choice for Austenesque, Pride and Prejudice, and Mr. Darcy fans this holiday season!!
NOTE: This story is labeled as a Pride and Prejudice Variation, but I kind thought it felt was more like a sequel since it takes place after Darcy and Elizabeth marry.

Lovely review Meredith. I really like the sound of this book, a bit of humour is always appreciated although I do feel sorry for Darcy and Elizabeth. I think they would have liked just the two of them with a lot of kissing balls! I look forward to reading this so hope I get to win a copy .
On my list to read when I have time. Sounds like a fun read

I am currently reading this and am enjoying it very much. Love your note on the pleasant surprise of the romance dealing with Georgianna as I like this part of the plot. Kincaid is one of my favorite Austen writers. I too love how she weaves humor, angst and romance.
