*When I went to visit my lovely Austenesque and online friend Jakki Leatherberry this summer she made this DELICIOUSAunt Norris’s Sponge Cake” and “Elizabeth’s Bennet’s Light, Bright, and Sparkling Lemonade” using the recipes she found in this book.  I was there only for three days, but I think I ate 4 slices of that cake!!!  I love the names of the recipes and that they are easy to make!!!

By Syrie James

Available @ Amazon and Barnes and Noble

Release Date: December 31st (an after Christmas gift?)

The minute I saw the letter, I knew it was hers. There was no mistaking it: the salutation, the tiny, precise handwriting, the date, the content itself, all confirmed its ancient status and authorship…

Samantha McDonough cannot believe her eyes–or her luck. Tucked in an uncut page of a two-hundred-year old poetry book is a letter she believes was written by Jane Austen, mentioning with regret a manuscript that “went missing at Greenbriar in Devonshire.” Could there really be an undiscovered Jane Austen novel waiting to be found? Could anyone resist the temptation to go looking for it?

Making her way to the beautiful, centuries-old Greenbriar estate, Samantha finds it no easy task to sell its owner, the handsome yet uncompromising Anthony Whitaker, on her wild idea of searching for a lost Austen work–until she mentions its possible million dollar value.

After discovering the unattributed manuscript, Samantha and Anthony are immediately absorbed in the story of Rebecca Stanhope, daughter of a small town rector, who is about to encounter some bittersweet truths about life and love. As they continue to read the newly discovered tale from the past, a new one unfolds in the present–a story that just might change both of their lives forever.

*HURRAH for another Austen-Inspired novel by Syrie James! Syrie is the author of The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen and The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte.  Two of my favorites!  Her new book sounds a-mazing!

A GREAT TRIO for Austen Admirers!

*I want to smell like Lizzie Bennet! (and I’m not at all adverse to the idea of my husband smelling like Mr. Darcy!)  Handmade soaps are indeed one of my most favorite things!  I use to be a fan of body washes, but now I’m all about finding some unique, old-fashioned handmade soaps.  I love that there is a soap for each hero and heroine (I may just have to try them all!)  Meghan Thomas has a shop called Scents and Sensibility, and you will find many more fragrant soaps, bath bombs, and candles there too!

Emma’s Perfect Match – $11.95
Marianne’s Wild Abandon – $11.95

*Yes, I’ve finally joined the ranks of true Anglophiles and have become a tea drinker!  As a fan of sweet and spicy teas I think these two teas would most match my taste buds.  But with such a wide variety and charming names though, I want to try them all! To me, comfort is sipping an aromatic brew reading an Austenesque novel!  Look at all the lovely, elegant, and delicious teas, Bingley’s Teas has to offer!

**I think it is ironic that the two teas I like most are for the heroines that I least resemble! LOL!

  1. Congratulations on joining the ranks of the true Anglophiles and becoming a tea drinker. We’re happy to have you. I have a little teapot next to me right now. Thanks for sharing Bingley’s Teas; I’ll have to go check them out.

Plus, bravo for appropriately using the phrase “I want to smell like Lizzie Bennet!” That has to be a first 🙂

  2. Everything looks so wonderful! But I wouldn’t mind trying those teas. Or writing in that lovely journal or cooking a recipe from Jane Austen’s time!

So, really, everything looks good 🙂
