It’s my favorite month and I am excited to start it with a visit from Heather Moll!! 🙌🏼

Heather has a new book coming out September 1st titled – Her Affections and Wishes – and it sounds like it involves a house party! ⛲️🃏🪭🐎

Heather is here to share the stunning cover for Her Affections and Wishes. 📖

We hope you enjoy! 🤗

~ From the Author ~

Thank you for the warm welcome, Meredith! Coming to Austenesque Reviews with a cover reveal is the best way to launch a book. I’ve done this 12 times, so here we are for Lucky 13!

Her Affections and Wishes takes place after Hunsford when Lady Catherine notices Elizabeth is a little down and insists, I mean, arranges for her to go to a house party for the Epsom races where maybe she’ll meet a man. And, lo-and-behold, Darcy is grudgingly roped into going too by a friend. Both of them are very reluctant—until they realize the other one is there. Second chances, anyone?

They might get together early, but a series of accidents makes Darcy fear they might be deliberate attacks on Elizabeth. Amid the parlour games and race activities, is there someone who wants Elizabeth out of the way?

I wanted a cover that featured the romance more than the mystery, and Evelyne Labelle at Capre Librum didn’t disappoint. She never does. She’s a rockstar and I love the longing energy she brought to this Elizabeth. Our happy couple spend time on the grounds together, amid the antics, and this cover captures that spirit. Isn’t she so pretty in pink?

~ Book Description ~

A harsh refusal healed. But a fresh proposal could put them both in deadly danger…

Elizabeth Bennet harbors regrets. After curtly rejecting an unwanted offer of marriage, the lively young lady worries that she’s failed to live up to her own ideals. So when she accepts an invitation to a house party, she’s delighted to spot her would-be suitor among the other guests.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is striving to soften his blunt edges. Promising to watch over a friend’s younger brother, the dashing gentleman is thrilled when the dreaded duty brings him face-to-face with the lovely woman. And hoping she’s willing to look beneath the surface, the proud man devotes himself to proving that his desires remain unchanged.

Agreeing to a quiet engagement, Elizabeth blissfully dismisses the string of potentially fatal accidents that start dogging her steps. And though Darcy admires his beloved’s attempts to see the good in everyone, he fears someone is trying to thin the competition in the marriage mart.

Will their blossoming reconciliation be cut short by an invisible hand?

This is a kissing only, full length Pride and Prejudice variation

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

(Expected release date September 1st)

and the full wrap…

Sumptuously stunning! The posture, the pose, the font – everything is so elegant. 🪭

I’m in love with  pink tint and garden background, and the flowering arbor??? So gorgeous! 🌸

I love a house party – I can’t wait to see the interactions and diversions everyone takes part in. 🃏

Sounds like there is some hint of intrigue and danger in this house party as well… 😮

What do you think, friends? 🤔

  1. I agree, the cover is beautiful and the excerpt has me interested. Congratulations on yet another soon to be released book and thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  2. The cover is beautiful and intriguing! The synopsis sounds really interesting. Thank you for offering this giveaway opportunity.

Congratulations on your upcoming book releasse!

  3. I love the cover, and they matter a lot… It catches our attention and seeing a favorite authors name clinches the deal. Beautiful.

    1. It does matter! I used to work in libraries and you can, in fact, judge a lot by a cover. Thanks so much for your kind words

  4. Yes, it’s a gorgeous cover and I’m happy Elizabeth has no face! It irks me no end when illustrators get the hair all wrong (what woman on the frontier would wear her hair down and blowing in the wind? Or the character’s hair or eye color is wrong). May the book be a rousing success and thanks for running the giveaway.

    1. I don’t mind different hair color or eyes, but hair down or period-incorrect clothing can be so distracting. Good luck in the giveaway!

  5. I had a very positive immediate reaction to the cover. Like Meredith, I think the pink is very eye-catching. I am also intrigued by the premise. A house party allows for all sorts of opportunity for romance and villains. (I like that ODC get back together relatively quickly)

    1. I’m so pleased you like it! And yes, lots of chances at a house party for romance and villainy. Romance for ODC and villainy for unnamed troublemakers

  6. This is truly a beautiful cover! And it sounds like an amazing story with both mystery and romance! I love it when they get together early and face trouble together!
    Congratulations on your new story!

    1. Isn’t it fun when they’re together early and on the same team? Thank la so much for your well wishes!

  7. I do love this cover! Elizabeth outside where she prefers to be! I loved the snippet on Facebook about kissing, swoon! (Please don’t enter me in the giveaway!)

  8. So, of course you are right. The cover is delicious. And the house party mystery is a good hook. I personally vote for Lady C as the villain. This is on my order list. Thanks for the fun reveal.

  9. Interesting cover. The plot sounds intriguing-romance, mystery and an improved Darcy. Much to love. Congrats on publishing a new story.

  10. The cover is lovely, the bright & colorful fading to the dark and sinister on the back. I love a proper whodunnit!

  11. I’m excited to read that variation. I love it when it continues after the first proposal!! Can’t wait!!

    1. I’m so glad you’re ready for it! It picks up not long after Hunsford and those two are eager to reconcile!

    1. Oh, I love a JAFF house party! Wouldn’t it be fun to be a random guest, surreptitiously watching ODC’s courtship banter? Also, I always enjoy when Lady C actually does something NICE for a change. And the cover is lovely with the pink florals. I’m going to brazenly admit that I would love to win this one!

  12. Lovely cover — but watching too many “cosTuber” videos on YouTube gave me a question about the “cover Lizzy’s” attire: Is that a sleeveless spencer/vest with attached overskirt, or a sleeveless pelisse? It still looks period-accurate, whatever it is. Looking forward to this book, whether I get it as a freebie or not!

    1. It looks to me like an open robe style that was popular late 1790s-early 1810s. That fitted spencer-like bodice piece and over skirt that’s open in the front are one piece. Glad you’re excited for it!

  13. Love this cover! It’s giving autumn vibes Congrats on your new novel. Always looking forward to read your work.

  14. Congratulations on the new book, Heather! The colors of your book remind me of a beautiful sunset Can’t wait to read it

  15. Late at the party, as I am travelling, but wow! That is a very catching cover and the pinkish hue is just… Yummy!
Can’t wait to tell you if the cover matched the content *hahaha*.
I am sure it will be another arresting read, but that’s ok, I am used by now with sleepless nights on behalf of your writing.
    🙂

    1. You’re not late. The party is just getting started. Sorry for sleepless though! High praise indeed.

  16. Beautiful cover, and the story looks like it will go in directions not normally taken. Cannot wait to read this!

  17. That is such a beautiful cover! I am really excited about this book…well anything Heather Moll really .

  18. Heather Moll is an auto buy for me, but the story description and that stunning cover clinches it. I tend to dig in my feet during August trying to will it to slow down but this time I’ve got something exciting to look forward to Sept. 1. Yay!!!

  19. Whilst I do like the cover , have to admit just excited to read your next book . Sure this one won’t disappoint
