11 Incredible Pride and Prejudice Variations from 2017-2018 – Austenesque Top Ten

Hi readers, it has been waaaaaay too long since I’ve shared an Austenesque Top Ten list here! 🤭

I love making lists as you know, and it is really something I should try to do more often. But I think it has become more challenging… The more books I read the more difficult it is to make a lists of favorites because the number of books I adore grows more and more numerous! 🥰

Today’s list continues with more P&P Variations – my top ten favorites from the years 2017-2018.

* These lists are based only on the novels I have read and reviewed on this blog and are my top ten favorites.

**These lists are subject to change.

(in alphabetical order)

A Man With Faults

Author: Lory Lilian

Type of Novel: Variation

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My Review   I   Add to Cart   I   Add to Shelf

“I loved how Ms. Lilian took her time exploring the emotional development between these two characters and how she never gave anything away too early or too quickly! She made us wait for it!”

A Quest for Mr. Darcy

Author: Cassandra Grafton

Type of Novel: Variation

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My Review   I   Add to Cart   I   Add to Shelf

“A truly enchanting and imaginative variation that brings readers on the most delightful sojourn to Derbyshire. I can’t decide what I loved more – the tender and achingly beautiful romance, the tension-building drama and mystery, or the many heartwarming relationships formed throughout!”

A Short Period of Exquisite Felicity

Author: Amy D’Orazio

Type of Novel: Variation

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My Review   I   Add to Cart   I   Add to Shelf

“Through all this heartache and torture, Ms. D’Orazio illustrates a very moving tale of an unconquerable love that cannot be extinguished. I loved the moments where we see how fervently devoted to each other Darcy and Elizabeth are…even when they don’t believe they have a future together. *sigh*”

Mistaken

Author: Jessie Lewis

Type of Novel: Variation,  Mature Audiences

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My Review   I   Add to Cart   I   Add to Shelf

“This story immediately had me spellbound with Ms. Lewis’s heartrending depictions of Darcy’s suffering and Elizabeth’s subsequent dismay in finding Darcy more worthy of her esteem than she first believed. Such strong and compelling portrayals of these emotions!”

Mistress

Author: Sophie Turner

Type of Novel: Variation, Mature Audiences

The Child

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My Review   I   Add to Cart   I   Add to Shelf

The Child is a truly mesmerizing and enthralling romantic tale that is filled with mistakes and misunderstandings, secrets and scandals, dangerous situations, a myriad of emotions, and a darling child. Another brilliant gem from the talented pen of Jan Hahn!!”

The Events at Branxbourne

Author: Caitlin Williams

Type of Novel: Variation

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My Review   I   Add to Cart   I   Add to Shelf

“I loved The Events at Branxbourne‘s unconventional premise and emotionally turbulent plot – not just because of the gripping events of the story and enthralling gothic undertones, but because how it was masterfully designed and executed. Ms. Williams once again delivers an exquisitely expressive and incredibly impassioned tale.”

These Dreams

Author: Nicole Clarkston

Type of Novel: Variation, Mature Audiences

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My Review   I   Add to Cart   I   Add to Shelf

“Forget half agony, half hope, this is full agony and no hope! Seeing Elizabeth mourn, fully realize her love, come to cherish Mr. Darcy’s love, and regret every moment of blindness and mistaken assumptions was quite an emotional experience.”

If you are sharp, then you know what I attempted to get away in this list. 😉 But it was just not happening! I could not narrow this list down any more! 🤫

And because I cannot help myself, honorable mentions go to Chance and Circumstance by Kara Louise and Conceit and Concealment by Abigail Reynolds.

Are you 10 for 10* with this list of favorite Pride and Prejudice variations from 2017-2018?

* And by 10, I mean 11.
