MY THOUGHTS:
It’s a family affair! While I do love the chaos and drama of the Bennet family, I love it when we have the opportunity to see the same kind of chaos and drama in the wealthy and illustrious Fitzwilliam family. It is easy to believe they would think they have the right to influence and interfere with Mr. Darcy’s affairs. Not to mention feel entitled enough to travel all the way to Meryton to share their opinions and have their say!
I enjoyed witnessing the dynamics and the disfunction of the Fitzwilliam family. They are unified in their love and care for Mr. Darcy but not much else! Some are there to firmly stop Mr. Darcy’s plans, some are their to investigate and form their own opinions, and some are their for spectacle… It was diverting to see Mr. Darcy have to deal with them all at once! And for Mr. Bingley to have them all at Netherfield! What a scene! I’m so glad Mr. Darcy’s cousins were also there to provide some support!
Not only does Mr. Darcy’s family present some opposition by expressing their decided unfavorable opinions on his marital plans, they give him pause by invoking the memories, wishes, and conversations of both his parents. I enjoyed seeing Mr. Darcy struggle against the potential of being honor bound or legally bound to comply with their wishes and deny his own. And while I would have loved to see a little more of Elizabeth’s and Mr. Darcy’s relationship, the Fitzwilliams are clearly the type of family that demand centerstage and are not in the habit of brooking disappointment…
FINAL THOUGHTS:
🤪 A fun and fast-paced family affair with the Fitzwilliam clan.
💗 Elizabeth’s and Mr. Darcy’s love is tested in new ways at a most inopportune time!

Yes! How frustrating was that interruption! All thanks to ‘dear’ Lady Catherine of course! I think Darcy should have had her thrown out but I did enjoy this story.
