Austenesque Agenda – November 2015

AA

Hi there, reader friends!  I hope your November has had a lovely start!  Ours has started off rainy.  But that’s okay!  I have plenty of blogging and reviewing to catch up on! 😉

As you might remember, Mr. Bingley and I were in Cancun, Mexico last week!  He is in a band that was invited to travel and play in a resort for week and I, my brother, and some of our friends decided to tag along!  It was a lovely restful week with some fun exciting excursions.  If you recall from our posts about Colombia, Mr. Bingley and I do like us some extreme sports!

The resort was beautiful in sunshine or rain, but lucky for us it only rained one afternoon!

The band played three shows which we all attended (and danced a little at!)  Mr. Bingley is the sax player.

We drove some motor boats and snorkeled!

And went to this amazing adventure park with caves called Xplor!  This was definitely my favorite part of the trip!

Netherfield Update!  Wow, is this going fast!  Builder is projecting we will close by the end of the month!  Ack!  We’ve got to get ready!  😉  As you can see we have exterior paint done (not on doors yet!) and sheetrock.  I believe cabinets and trim are next!

This room is one I know you lovely readers will enjoy seeing… my book nook! It’s actually quite large (I would have been happy to have a closet-sized room, but this model came with a 15 x 9 office!)  Will have plenty of room for my darling books!  Can’t wait to take pictures once it is all set up and share them with you!

My plate is feeling a little full this month, so I thought a nice, quick YA would be a good fit.  Which book should I read this month – The Trouble with Flirting by Claire LaZebnik or The Dashwood Sisters’ Secrets of Love by Rosie Rushton? To vote, leave a comment below.

  1. I’m so happy that your own Netherfield is becoming real! 🙂 And I’m also super jealous because I’d love to have a “nook” like that one! 😛

    Great photos! Thanks for sharing!

I’ll vote for The Trouble with Flirting.

    1. Thank you, Maria! I’m being spoiled rotten with such a lovely room just for books! No more holding back on buying books because of lack of space! LOL!

      Thanks for voting! 🙂 TTWF – 1 / TDSSL – 0

  2. Love all the photos you shared with us. Your house looks fantastic. Love the open spaces in the one. Yes, I also can envy your book room. I vote for The Trouble with Flirting.

So great that your trip went well. You didn’t just sit and read it is obvious!

    1. Thank you, Sheila! I’m so glad you enjoyed them. I did get in plenty of reading in the mornings and while hubby showered or slept. 😉 I’ll be sharing my first review tomorrow – had a lot of fun with the vacation reads.

  3. You’ll certainly have your hands full if you are planning to move at the end of the month! May I make a nook-filling suggestion to this Austenesque community–maybe for December, after the move? If you (Meredith) have Austenesque novels or other Austen-related books that you had to give up for lack of space and now wish you had, let us know what they are and we can sign up to send you a copy. You’ve given us so much, we’d love the chance to give back!

    1. I know, Abigail! And Nov and Dec are such crazy, whirl-wind months to begin with! Aack! I hope I’ll still be able to do all I want and enjoy the season!

You are so sweet, Abigail! I’m happy to say that I didn’t downsize my collection on any of the moves…I may have limited my purchasing a little due to space and the humongous size of my TBR, but I find it hard to part ways with books I’ve read! Your participating and wonderful conversation is all that I need! 😉

  4. Looks like Mexico was a lot of fun. Your house looks amazing I would love to see the finished article. My dream would be to have a library so roll on that lottery win! I would vote for The Trouble With Flirting. I am especially looking forward to the sequel to Rainy Days by Lory Lilian and Keeping Calm by Linda Wells.

    1. Thank you, Glynis! I’ll definitely post more photos of what it looks like inside and everything…you can definitely count on some photos and if I gather enough courage maybe a video of my book nook when completed!

      Thanks for voting! 🙂 TTWF – 3 / TDSSL – 0

  5. I love your photos! Looks like your trip was great fun. I’m glad it wasn’t too stormy. Your house is looking great. So much to look forward to.

  6. Hi Meredith, I love all your photos and looks like an amazing trip. Your house is looking fabulous and I love how you have the two Georgian posts outside your front door. Very P & P!! I vote for the Dashwood Sisters! Good luck with the move

  7. Your house is going to have plenty of light!, I love your book nook!. Well, are you going to celebrate a “ball” at Netherfield when you definetely settle in? LOL 😉
And your Cancun trip seemed a fun experience!, the photo with the stoned people at the round table under the sea is amazing!.
Your agenda is so complete!. I vote for TTWF. Look forward to reading Beau North´s post.

    1. We are really excited about the floor plan, it is very open! LOL! That’s a great idea – I would love to have a ball! 😉 Maybe we could do a virtual ball of sorts. Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures, the underwater sculptures were a nice surprise!

      Thanks for voting! 🙂 TTWF – 4 / TDSSL – 1

    1. Thanks for checking out our photos! I’m so glad you liked them, Joana! We are very excited about Netherfield, crazy to think that we might be living there soon – it felt so far into the future not too long ago!
