I’m always impressed by these lists and fascinated by your methodology. Are you planning a separate list for modernizations? It must be hard to know where to draw the line between modern rewrites and chick-lit/Austen inspired – how did you qualify these differences?
I appreciate all the lists and reviews. I wish I could keep up with all of them. And of course read them all, if only real life would go away!

Thank you for this list my dear. Some of these I’ve read, most I haven’t. Now that the snow has cleared I need to pay a visit to my bookstore.
Alexa- hopefully the method to these lists isn’t confusing to everyone. I began classifying the lists by novel: Persuasion, Emma, P&P, etc. Then I was left with a books that didn’t really belong to a novel like books about Jane Austen as a person, reference books, quote books, and Austen-Inspired.
As of right now I don’t plan on doing a separate list for modernizations because they are included in that particular novel’s list. Like there are at least 5 modernizations on the Persuasion list. But maybe at the end I will make a list just for modernizations for people who want see all those books in one place. It was easy to draw the line between modern rewrites and chick-lit for most of these books. Books like According to Jane or Confessons of a Jane Austen Addict weren’t directly related to an Austen novel or characters so I felt they were Austen-Inspired and not a Modern Adaption of an Austen novel. Modern Adaptions I feel should have two things: most of the major characters from the novel and follow a similar plot to an Austen novel. Hopefully I haven’t to many errors on these lists. It’s hard to classify a book you haven’t read yet!

I have to say I’ve read nine of the above mentioned books. I’ve enjoyed most of them for a variety of different reasons. However, the ones I enjoyed that there isn’t much info on are: Austenland and The Man Who Loved Jane Austen. I did however blank out any curse words for my own enjoyment in my personal copies. I have read Patillo, Rigler, Simonsen, & Potter. I’m looking forward to Corey and Smith’s books and didn’t enjoy Fowlers.
