Cover Reveal + Giveaway for My Dear Friend!!!

Hi friends! I’m so excited to share another cover reveal for author Heather Moll with you today! 🤩

Heather is here to share the cover reveal for her new Pride and Prejudice variation – My Dear Friend.  📖

And this one sounds fascinating because it is about matchmaking and secret correspondences! 💕

We hope you enjoy! 🤗

~ From the Author ~

Thanks for welcoming me back to the blog! I’m excited to bring out another short and sweet novel in my Love in London series, a group of standalone novels that all take place in London after the Netherfield Ball. The first one was Mr. Darcy’s Valentine, and this one is called My Dear Friend.

While researching another book, I came across a reference to a handbill from about 1820 that described a subscription matchmaking service. After I did more digging, I found references to a similar business idea as early as 1805.

Regency matchmaking?! I met my spouse on Match.com, way back when it was a website and not an app, so the idea that Georgian singles could do their version of swipe right was fascinating to me. I knew I had to write a story where Elizabeth and Darcy end up being reluctant subscribers to the regency equivalent to a dating service and end up writing to each other anonymously.

Evelyne Labelle at Carpe Librum Cover Design designed the cover and once again she knocked it out of the park. Look at these two! The London setting, the letter in her hand, the snow falling. I even love the handwriting font. Elizabeth and Darcy look like they’re crossing past one another–either not liking each other or trying to avoid one another–and they don’t know they’re already falling in love through letters.

I think she did a fantastic job capturing the mood and the romance!

~ Book Description ~

They never get along whenever they unfortunately cross paths. But when a matchmaking service anonymously links them up, will they pen a romance?

Elizabeth Bennet is an excellent judge of character. Eager to prove to her brokenhearted sister that worthy men do exist, the spirited and witty young woman subscribes to the new matchmaking service taking London by storm. And she’s pleasantly surprised when the female-empowering agency anonymously connects her with a fascinating correspondent.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is determined to move on from unwanted feelings for the alluring but inappropriate Bennet girl. He hopes his captivating prose partner from the matchmaking service might be the distraction he needs. But when he reveals his inner thoughts, he can’t keep the letter-exchanging relationship from becoming something more.

As Elizabeth starts to fall for the mysterious man, her dislike for Mr. Darcy only grows whenever they meet in person. While the man in question still admires Elizabeth, he realizes in alarm that he may have also given his heart to his anonymous correspondent…

Have their letters opened an unexpected path to happily ever after?

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

(Expected release date September 3rd)

and the full wrap…

Oh! It is too gorgeous! I am in love!  😍

The composition is perfect – for all the reasons Heather said – I especially love the hands (feels like there is some nervous tension there). 🤚🏼

I’m so fascinated to learn that there was a Regency matchmaking subscription service and I’m so glad Heather found it in her research! 💘

I’m feeling some You’ve Got Mail vibes with this premise and I absolutely love it – one of my faves! 📬

What do you think, friends? 🤔

I look forward to reading the published story

  2. Wow, Heather you knocked it out of the park! This sounds like a fascinating book. What a turnup for Lizzie and Darcy to be matched too!

  3. This cover is beautiful indeed. It says so much quite elegantly. I always look forward to each of your books, and I am very excited to read this one, too!

  4. Such a great choice for a cover – so much seen yet unseen. Thank you for the giveaway and good luck to all.

  5. One of the loveliest covers I’ve seen. The excerpt has me totally intrigued; I can’t wait to dive in.

  6. What a wonderful book cover. And the idea….matchmaking service in the time of P&P.
Can’t wait to reading this story.

  7. Congratulations, Heather!
I look forward to reading this.

I love the feel of being in that time you get from this cover. Like you can reach out and smell the sea and hear the clop of horses riding by.

  8. I love, love this cover! Gorgeous dress and almost holding hands. Please don’t enter me as I received an ARC. I really, really loved the reactions of both to their letters and the feelings they inspired. A wonderful book!

  9. What a beautiful cover! And I love the premise of this book. I guess it just goes to show there’s nothing new under the sun when it comes to romance. [Blissful sigh.] I’m a huge fan of Heather’s and can’t wait to read this one.

    1. Right? I was surprised to learn about agony columns in the papers dating back so long, let alone the matchmaking concept. We’re not as original as we think we are lol Good luck in the giveaway.

  10. I love epistolary novels, so I’m looking forward to the kind of sweet notes our favorite couple will share. There’s nothing more endearing than a man willing to share his personal thoughts! Congratulations, Heather, and I’m so looking forward to this new creation.

  11. Absolutely gorgeous. I love this cover. Bravo to the artist! Like ships passing in the night, so close yet so far away. The story sounds brilliant. I don’t think I’ve ever read such a plot before, which is amazing given the hundreds of variations I’ve read over the years. And I love the idea of it. I can’t wait to read it. It sounds like it’s going to be so much fun.
Congratulations to Heather on her newest release!

  12. It’s A beautiful cover, a perfect drawing of the expression “so close, and yet so far”. I wish a different London icon was used as Clock Tower (now Elizabeth Tower) wasn’t started until 1843, and Big Ben’s design wasn’t chosen until 1852.

    1. We can let the cover designer have some license. It’s about creating a realistic vision that represents the book, not perfecting the 1812 setting. The text will do that

      1. I agree, I was just pointing it out. It doesn’t take away from the beauty of the artist’s work, Evelyn is a true artist with an empathy for the characters that a lot of new covers are completely lacking. Hold on to her, she’s A keeper!

    1. Thank you Cat!! You know how important it is when you find a designer who can make the story come to life and make a reader stop scrolling.

  13. Such a wonderful concept. “You’ve Got Mail” has long been a favorite movie of mine, and this book sounds like it could mimic some aspects of it. I will look forward to reading the letters written to their unknown “match” and especially to the final reveal. Congratulations on publishing another story–the cover is indeed beautiful.

    1. Thank you! There are definite Shop Around the Corner vibes, but it’s not a beat for beat retelling. But those letters sure will be revealing…

  14. I like the cover. I always appreciate when character faces are not fully shown so my imagination can create the most appealing image of them for myself.

  15. Oh, I love that cover. They are apart and yet connected by their letters…well done. They are so close and yet, so far away. Oh, I love the You’ve Got Mail vibe. I loved that movie. I am looking forward to reading this. Blessings on its success.

    1. Thank you! There are definitely some Shop Around the Corner vibes and the designer sure did catch that “so close, so far away” feeling.

  16. Oh goody, I love forward to reading this! I saw that the description mentioned *kisses only* I’m looking forward to finally reading something from this author, as the “steam levels” described in some of the other books sounded a bit beyond what I typically enjoy reading. I love the cover too!

        1. Mr Darcy’s Valentine, A Hopeful Holiday, and a short story called The Gentleman Are Detained. You can find details and more free kissing-only short stories on my website. Plus, stay tuned because this time next year there’ll be another one too …

  17. Hi Heather!
I didn’t know there was a matchmaking service during Regency and, as Meredith says, it reminds me about “You’ve got Email” movie with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
It sounds sweet and fun this loving affair by correspondence so, thanks for the chance to win a copy and I wish you luck with the release.
Can you imagine this matchmaking service linking Mr Collins with Caroline Bingley? WOW, it would be so funny!

    1. There are definite Shop Around the Corner vibes in this, and the letters will really give them a chance to be vulnerable.
Can you imagine the letters Mr. Collins would write? Yeesh!

  18. What a gorgeous cover. And what a great idea to assist Lizzy and Darcy to get out of their own way to a HEA,
Cannot wait to read anther outstanding book by this author.

  19. I love when writers come up with an original idea!!! And Heather did it! Love her works. Can’t wait to read it.

  20. This is an amazing story, I enjoyed it immensely. I received an ARC and left a review in Goodreads. Greatly recommended!

  21. Oh, my goodness!! The cover is so beautiful and the blurb is wonderful! I can’t wait! Congratulations on another great book!

  22. That’s such a lovely cover. Congratulations to Heather on her new book.

Very interesting to know that there were matchmaking services so early!

  23. Wow such a beautiful cover. I just finished Rising Courage and loved that cover too and the story was a page turner. I love this premise and look forward to reading more.

    1. Thank you!! I loved Rising Courage’s cover, too. This has the same designer. She’s fabulous and is remarkable at getting the tone right and evoking that visually.

  24. Lovely cover. Big fan of Shop Around the Corner so of course I’m looking forward to how this turns out!

  25. I LOVE the premise, I know I’m going to enjoy it immensely. The cover is so gorgeous too. All the best luck on the launch of this new book, Heather.

    1. Thanks Michelle! I’m so glad you love the concept. Regency matchmaking might sounds strange, but it’ll lead to a great HEA.

      1. How exciting and what an honor. Thank you for such generosity. I’m so looking forward to reading this. Will ‘shoot’ you that email poste haste.

  26. A wonderful concept and such a lovely cover. I congratulate you on your book! I would very much want to read this story!

  27. Such a beautiful cover and surprising plot! I wonder how they’ll find out that their writing to each other…

  28. You’ve Got Mail! I love learning new bits about Regency England. I can’t wait to read about their surprise and probably disbelief when they learn whom they have been writing letters to. Was this done in secret, however? Thank you for the giveaway.

    1. Thanks! There are definite Shop Around the Corner/You’ve Got Mail vibes. And no, the writing anonymously will all be above board. The drama will come from when they figure out who they’re writing to…

  29. I’m very excited to read this story! I always imagine that Elizabeth and Darcy are prone to being verbose (in a good way!) and while in-person interactions could be more restricted due to etiquette rules, letter writing would probably help them reveal better and more interesting parts of themselves. Looking forward to this novel!

    1. I think you’re exactly right about those two! A little scandal-free letter writing gives them a chance to be vulnerable—and with no prejudices to get in their way. Thank you!

  30. Sorry for joining late to the party. The release of this wonderful new P&P variation is just next week and I can’t wait. I love the beautifully designed cover. I never knew there is a Regency matchmaking service. Thank you for sharing this research tidbit and incorporating it into your main plot, Heather.

    1. Latecomers are always welcomed to the party! I’m so glad the concept piques your interest and you like the cover.
