Cover Reveal + Giveaway for The Bachelor Mr. Darcy!!!

Hi friends! Can you believe that today’s post is ANOTHER cover reveal for a NEW Julie Cooper release?! 😮

Because I can’t! 🤭

She was just here two months ago with a cover reveal! 😮

I can’t keep up with you, Julie! (seriously not complaining! thank you for all your stories!) 📚

Anyways, I’m very excited about Julie’s new book – The Bachelor Mr. Darcy – because she brings into play some interesting and unique elements…

…and Julie is excited to share the cover reveal for The Bachelor Mr. Darcy with you today because it is gorgeous! 🤩

We hope you enjoy! 🙌🏼

~ From the Author ~

Thank you, Meredith, for hosting this cover reveal! I am not one to get overly excited about covers, in general. But what if your publisher presents a cover that not only conveys the look and feel of the story, but makes the author fall in love, just a little bit, with her version of Mr Darcy, all over again?

Of course, in this story, there is no shortage of potential brides willing to go toe-to-toe in order to win this ultimate Bachelor prize. Surrounded by heiresses, needing to marry, surely Mr Darcy won’t have any trouble finding the right one to whom he can present his rose of honour. Or will he?

~ Book Description ~

Here I am, surrounded by heiresses without so much as a murmur from my heart

MR FITZWILLIAM DARCY’S FAMILY has decided it is time for him to select a wife and marry. To that end, Pemberley is suddenly inundated with eligible young ladies vying for his time and attention. Disinterested in the notion, Mr Darcy’s attention is on his myriad other troubles. He has a London journalist whose attention has suddenly has turned towards him with unsavoury and false rumours, and lives with a wounded Colonel Fitzwilliam whose sanity has been called into question. To add to that he finds himself surprisingly and suddenly captivated by one fine-eyed young lady who is visiting Pemberley.

ELIZABETH BENNET HAS NO INTEREST IN MARRYING—ever. Hard life lessons have taught her that she can only rely upon herself. To that end, she earns a tidy sum as the secret author of a popular gossip column in a London paper, Mr Pennywithers Reports—and Mr Pennywithers has been tasked with learning the truth about the enigmatic Fitzwilliam Darcy. An unexpected invitation to go to Pemberley provides her with just the opportunity she needs…provided she can keep her true identity concealed.

IT’S NO BED OF ROSES—one bachelor is up against surprising alliances, a bevy of mean girls, rumours, gossip and a multitude of hidden agendas. Can it all be untangled in time for true love to prevail or will scandal defeat them all?

~ An Excerpt from The Bachelor Mr. Darcy ~

Lady Ridley was a handsome woman, rather strong of brow and aristocratic of nose, but elegant, well-spoken, and shapely. Miss Lushington looked a good deal like her sister, except for her inability to make charming conversation and a certain portion of her anatomy which was…generously displayed. Perhaps in London, her dress would not have been so, er, noticeable, but at a quiet country dinner party, it was excessive. Darcy flushed, and applied himself to his potatoes.

“Rose, dear, tell Darcy about your painting,” Lady Matlock instructed. “Darcy, Miss Lushington is a keenly talented artist. Her self-portrait hangs on the foyer wall of her parents’ home, where it was admired by the Regent himself! Her mother, you know, is a royal cousin.”

If she wore the same dress she wears now in that portrait, it was probably an opening salvo as much as a compliment. Her parents had been wise to remove her to the country for a time and beyond their salacious Regent’s reach—although he usually did not pursue women so youthful.

“I prefer painting to most other occupations,” Miss Lushington said seriously.

Darcy nodded and murmured his acknowledgement. He kept his eyes upon her face, but really, it was difficult—like having an elephant in his dining room. An elephant with extraordinarily large and exposed mammary glands.

Miss Bingley, seated between her brother and the vicar’s spotty son, looked stiff and faintly peevish. Lady Matlock had obviously learnt the history and classification of each guest, sorted them into the genealogical catalogue stored in her brain, and appointed Miss Lushington as his bride-to-be. Miss Bentley, he noticed, was beside Lord Ridley, while her guests, the two sisters…Benson? Bennet? were below even the vicar. Their lack of prestige obviously mattered not at all to Bingley, himself relegated to the lowest tier, who was occupied earning the attention of the golden-haired one.

Very likely he would be required to warn Bingley away from her; the man had a lineage to grow, as he ought keep in mind. The thought made him inexpressibly weary. Georgiana sat very near him, and he watched her regard longingly the less elevated and more lively society at the other end of the table.

“Miss Lushington attended a Swiss finishing-school,” Lady Matlock advised. “Her German is flawless.”

“How…um, helpful,” Darcy answered, wondering how many courses this interminable meal must last.

Miss Lushington finally spoke again. “I would be happy to paint you,” she offered gravely. “I noticed the rose garden courtyard has several Grecian marbles I much admire. They would create an authentic background for the painting I propose to send to the Royal Academy. I would have you portray Zeus killing Typhon, the hundred-headed dragon.”

“Oh…um,” he mumbled. “Honoured, I am sure, but I am not—”

“I suppose you could wear a chiton if you insist,” she said. “I daresay I could fill in the missing parts using my imagination.”

Miss Lushington could not have said what he thought she meant.

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

(expected release date: June 3rd)

Ooh! This one has me weak in the knees! 😍

I love the details, the clothing, the elegance, the power, the determination – all of it so beautifully represented. 🎩

I have a funny feeling this will be one of those covers I end up gazing at every time I pick up this book or finish a chapter from it. 😜

What a fascinating premise! I love Elizabeth’s secret work – sounds very Lady Whistledown of her! ✍🏼

What do you think, friends? 🤔

    1. Hahaha, Mr Lushington was a name mentioned in one of Jane’s letters–I am certain it referred to his ability to party more than the name of an actual human. But seriously, what a humorous name!!

      1. The cover is just right for the ‘bachelor contest’ in play. The excerpts shared reveal the humor and ridiculous-ness of the situation from both Darcy and Elizabeth’s perspective. Can’t wait to read it. Thanks for sharing the teasers.

  1. Sounds wonderful (no surprise there), and the cover is gorgeous. Can’t wait to read it! Congrats, Julie.

  2. I have loved every book of Julie Cooper’s that I have read. Now looking forward to this one!

  3. Congratulations on your new story! I really loved the excerpt and the cover! Very much to my taste!

  4. I am always amazed at your ability to deliver new twists on Pride and Prejudice. I buy everything that you publish. Thank you for offering up your treasures.

  5. Striking cover! Loved the excerpt! Poor Darcy. What he must be suffering. . Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the book. I love Julie’s stories.

  6. Oh Heavens! Poor Darcy! Miss Lushington is most definitely nowhere near a suitable match, what on earth is his Aunt thinking? He definitely needs to invent some urgent business ( and perhaps take Elizabeth to help him with it!) oh well one can but hope and I certainly hope he doesn’t get caught by any of the conniving misses his Aunt has provided.

    1. Miss Lushington’s sister is married to Lord Ridley, Lady Matlock’s eldest son. She would very much like to keep Darcy in the family, hahaha!

  7. The cover is phenomenal. I love the colors and that it does not show the entire face to the male subject–lease a bit to the imagination. Congrats on publishing a new story.

  8. I love the chiseled chin, the faint beard and the walking stick is to die for. At first I thought it was a modern P&P but figured it wasn’t!!! Would love to win!!

  9. Even without seeing the entire face, one senses the strength of Darcy in the cover. Very handsome!. I could picture him rolling his eyes during this meal. Lucky Bingley being at the opposite end of the table. Thank you for the excerpt and giveaway.

  10. Wonderful cover! I’m looking forward to reading this book, especially after my great appreciation of Mr Darcy’s Abducted Bride. Congratulations!

  11. I’ve loved all Julie Cooper’s previous books and the gorgeous cover and intriguing premise are offering us a glimpse into what will be, without a doubt, another amazingly creative book. ❤️

  12. Anything by Julie Cooper is an automatic read for me and this one sounds delicious! Lovely cover and intriguing premise. Thanks for the opportunity!

  13. After reading the excerpt, this story sounds like it will be “lush”ous! Looking forward to reading this!

  14. Swoon! What a fabulous cover! I’d read it for that alone but the story sounds so intriguing. An undercover Elizabeth and a besieged Darcy…very intriguing indeed.

  15. That is a Strong cover. It literally took my breath away!!!
Will you be doing your readers a public service and offer it also as a poster for sale?!?

It’s a good thing he comes off so confident, as I get the feeling he is going to need it!
    Congratulations on your new release!!

    1. LOL I was just thinking the same thing. Take all the words off it, Quills & Quartos, and sell it! Thank you so much Sam!

  16. The depiction of Darcy on this cover really captures his aloofness from the whole process of match making!

    1. You’re right, Regina, he’s a man who has no idea that he really does want to be married!

  17. Nice cover !! Leaving half of his face off the cover means we can use our imagination as to what he looks like !

  18. Ah, Lady Matlock playing matchmaker. What a fun trope to read (but a tiresome one for Darcy to live through). How rude of him to forget the Bennets’ name — and of course, there was a splash of the usual Darcy arrogance in his musing he would have to warn Bingley away from Jane, no taking into account that she was seated above him, so tos peak. Silly Darcy.

  19. Ooh that’s a great cover! I can’t wait to read this story. It sounds like lots of fun and intrigue.

  20. It’s a captivating image. Warm, dark with a bit of a glow. The premise makes me smile. Looking forward to reading this as I do to ALL Julie Cooper’s stories.

  21. The cover is a great tease ! Looking forward to indulging in the story! Thanks for the many variations.

  22. The cover is so elegant. And at the same time it doesn’t reveal the person. Love it.
And I can’t wait to read the story…

    Thank you for the opportunity…

  23. OMG! I swooned even at my age. Help us all! Goodness, that took my breath. Fabulous cover choice. Thanks for sharing this with us Meredith. That is a keeper, for sure. I wish Julie all manner of success on this launch. thanks to Q&Q for the generous giveaway. Good luck to all in the drawing. Blessings.

  24. The cover is beautiful. But the excerpts! Oh my, how am I going to wait so long to read this!! I’m absolutely hooked.

  25. Absolutely love the cover!!!!! Sounds like a fantastic read!!!! Congratulations!!! Can’t wait for this one.

  26. Love the cover, is it just me or does the cane in Darcy’s hand appears to be a stirrer and Pemberley the mixing bowl. With all these additional people at Pemberley, things are going to get interesting, I especially love the idea of Elizabeth as a secret gossip columnist, she will certainly not hold back her opinion. Miss Bingley and co you have been warned…

  27. I do enjoy this author’s stories and look forward to reading this one. Good luck with the release. Thanks for a chance to win a copy.

  28. Congratulations Julie!! The word of the day…SWOON! I love the cover! And the teaser…so good! Another read to add to my list. I look forward to seeing how Darcy gets himself out of his Aunt’s machinations!

  29. Wonderful, warm and inviting.
I also loved his “stick” does he use it to beat off the hordes or is it symbolic of his masculinity? Perhaps both?

    1. I’m sure the point disguises a hidden blade. Miss Bingley had better watch herself!

  30. THIS is the cover art I look for! I have my favorite authors (Julie Cooper 😉 and after reading the description I generally go for the cover art that appeals to me the most. I cannot wait to read this one, thank you Ms Cooper

  31. I thought my eyes deceived me when I saw a new book from Julie Cooper – so excited to see that no deceit was involved and that we have another new one from Julie to look forward to in the very near future! Love the cover and the story sounds great!

    1. Sometimes an author just can’t shut up, Martha! Thank you so much for your support!

  32. I think Miss Lushington will be my favorite character, she’s so off with the fairies! And Miss Bingley with Anne…this oughtta be interesting.

  33. Wow! This would absolutely make me pick up this book. It is a cover to draw a reader in with so many possibilities, not the least of which is who the author is.

  34. Great cover and an interesting premise. I’m looking forward to seeing how D&E are going to resolve all the issues. Congratulations on the new release.

  35. Ooooo Julie Cooper is at it again!! Can’t wait!!! And I love the cover, Darcy’s chiseled jaw is quite enticing!

  36. Oh, this sounds so great. Highly interesting and amusing concept.
I really look forward to reading this book.

  37. So happy to see this book and its stunning cover out in the world–almost, anyway. Congratulations, my friend!

  38. Now, this is a realistic, handsome Darcy. I don’t have to shake my head and wonder if you ever read the original. And I’m pleased it’s a traditional cover with a painting look about it, not one the more contemporary ones that have been making an appearance. I find them ridiculous for ODC and friends and hesitate to even open them.
I look forward to reading this story, for I’ve been positively impressed with your P&P variations.

    1. I totally understand your thinking, Betty. Publishers choose the covers based on all kinds of algorithms et cetera that I truly don’t understand. I just keep writing and hope folks will give it a chance anyway, even if not quite to one’s taste! I’m in love with this cover though! Thanks so much for your reads!

  39. Oh to see what games the ladies will play to get noticed and of course looks like Elizabeth wants to stay in the background. It sounds like it will be a fun ride. I love how the cover turned out, the colors are perfect.

  40. It certainly is a great cover, and thevpremis sound like it will be another great read from Julie Cooper. I am looking forward to reading this one.

  41. This is wonderful! Can’t wait to read this book! Elizabth Bennet writes gossip for a newspaper? Count me in!:)

  42. Oh My Gawd, I love that cover! I’d take that bachelor Mr. Darcy any day in a heartbeat. I am looking forward to another great book from Julie!

  43. I have no artistic ability whatsoever, but I would like to paint Mr. Darcy too! Thank you for the excerpt and giveaway. Congrats and best wishes on the new release!

  44. I love everything about this cover except the whiskers. He’s all dressed up, but had no time to shave? Now, if he was just waking up, that would be different (sigh). Can’t wait to read the book!

  45. I thought of Elizabeth similar to Lady Whistledown from the book blurb. A very interesting premise. The cover is absolutely beautiful, perfect!!!! Congratulations on this new release. –Leslie

  46. Wonderful cover love it when our imagination can be ignited. It’s beautiful.
I have this book on preorder.
Looking forward to it dropping into my library.

  47. I love the name “Lushington,” as well as the idea of Elizabeth finding her own way on her own terms.

    1. Jane Austen actually came up with the alias in one of her letters (I assume a guest who overindulged?) and it made me laugh, so I had to borrow!

  48. I am excited to read this when it comes out! The covers looks great. Congrats on the new release Julie!

  49. This seems like a really fun variation! I read the shuttlecock scene on the Quills & Quartos newsletter and was enjoying Elizabeth and Jane actually PLAYING A SPORT. And then Miss Bingley…well, no spoilers here, lol! But Miss Bingley can always be counted on to cause trouble. Thanks do much for the giveaway opportunity!

  50. I have been out of the loop of any P&P variation books for awhile. This one has my interest again. I’ll have to get back to the others I’ve left behind and get them read.

  51. Julie Cooper, Honey, you are on a roll! The second book in as many months! The excerpt hooked me, oooo that cover. Absolutely yummy. I’d buy it without a blurb attached, just the title. It’s a winner for sure.

I honestly love all your work, I’m in awe. Just please keep it coming (selfishly hoping) but regardless, I’m looking forward to reading this new one as soon as possible. Mr Darcy’s Abducted Bride was an absolute hoot and a joy to read.

    All the best luck.
