Cover Reveal + Giveaway for The Seven Sins of Fitzwilliam Darcy!!!

Hi friends! Quills and Quartos authors are keeping busy! Today the lovely Julie Cooper is stopping by to share a cover reveal for her upcoming Pride and Prejudice variation – The Seven Sins of Fitzwilliam Darcy! 🙌🏼

Isn’t that an intriguing title? We all know Mr. Darcy has his flaws…but seven sins? 😮

It will be interesting to discover what those sins are – we know one for sure must be pride.

Thank you so much for your visit, Julie. I can’t wait to hear more about your new release. ✨

~ From the Author ~

Hello Meredith, and thank you so very much for hosting the cover reveal for my latest novel, The Seven Sins of Fitzwilliam Darcy.

When Elizabeth Bennet overhears the hated Mr Darcy make an outrageous reference to Bingley’s past on Jane’s wedding day, she is furious. Unfortunately, Jane hears it too—and promptly decides she has made a terrible mistake.

An exhausted Elizabeth, who has vigilantly spent months marshaling, minding, and managing her own family to ensure they do not mortify Jane right out of a wedding, sees all her hard work circling the drain. In an outrageous confrontation, she informs the arrogant wedding guest from Derbyshire exactly what she thinks of him.

But Mr Darcy is not the same man who disappeared from Meryton’s surrounds just before the Netherfield ball. In the meantime, he has gone through devastating personal experiences which have taught him a thing or two.

Has it taught him, however, how to convince a furious, beautiful woman—with whom he is already in love—how to forgive a faux pas? Has he learnt a measure of charm, how to enchant and enthrall? Does he possess a certain something, in his air and manner of walking, the tone of his voice, his address and expressions, to encourage her to overlook his offenses?

Not exactly.

I love a Darcy who blunders, but has the confidence to power through. This is a man who knows what he wants and is unafraid of doing the work—quite a bit of it, in fact—to get the girl on this cover. Elizabeth is not too hard to convince…but Mr Bennet? He’s determined to make things difficult!

Seven Sins is a romantic comedy, and my hope is that the reader enjoys chuckling with me at their misadventures, finding laughter and love on nearly every page.

~ Book Description ~

Perhaps falling in love was not a momentous initial attraction, but a growing realisation that one’s life was simply happier, better, when in company with a certain gentleman.

After Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy departs Meryton unexpectedly just before Mr Bingley’s ball at Netherfield Park, there is no further impediment to prevent Jane Bennet’s romance with her handsome neighbour. Unfortunately, Mr Darcy returns to Netherfield on the Bingleys’ wedding day, just in time to launch disaster into the proceedings. Elizabeth Bennet’s attempt to put the wedding-wrecker in his place only worsens matters when her private conversation with Mr Darcy becomes a misunderstood marriage proposal. Mr Darcy is willing to put everything right—for a shocking price.

Can Elizabeth bear even a temporary alliance with this incomprehensible, possibly roguish, but certainly ardent Mr Darcy?

Can Mr Darcy convince the intriguing and charming Elizabeth Bennet to overlook his sins long enough to become his bride, or must he banish her from his dreams forever?

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

(expected release date: September 18th)

Ooh! The cover is as intriguing as the title! 🤩

Elizabeth  has a very observant and knowing look in her eyes, and I love that we see a playful smirk. 👁

I’m curious about this misunderstood marriage proposal and Julie’s hint about Mr. Bennet making things difficult. 🤭

It will be interesting to see all the errors Mr. Darcy makes, and then fall in love with him as he works to set things right.💗

What do you think, friends? 🤔

  1. Love the cover. One wonders exactly what Darcy relieved about Bingley that would make Jane question her decision. And since Elizabeth is not be easily swayed, and Darcy does seem to suffer with foot-in-mouth syndrome, there will be many missteps I expect with ODC. Can’t wait to read what happens next…

  2. As with any title from Ms. Cooper, I can’t wait until this new book releases! The description sounds like so much fun and the cover is just as delightful. So happy and fun with beautiful bright colors. Just like the character. I can’t wait to fall in love with my favorite couple all over again. Congratulations Ms. Cooper on your newest release. I wish you much success. (no need to enter me in the drawing, I have already pre-ordered this for my kindle)

  3. I can’t wait to see where this story is going. What Darcy could have said that ruined Jane’s and Bingley’s wedding. I immensely enjoyed your previous books and I very much look forward to reading this one 🙂

    1. Darcy, Darcy, Darcy. It’s a good thing he’s a great guy, or that mouth of his! I am so happy to hear you’ve enjoyed previous books, I hope you’ll get to enjoy this one!

  4. Intriguing blurb….a difficult Mr B and what could Jane have heard to make her question the marriage? Looking forward to reading this!

      1. What a self satisfied countenance! What could she possibly be thinking?
And what could possibly make Jane rethink her marriage – she who cannot conceive anything but benevolence in all she meets?

  5. Once again, there is always confusion regarding Jane marrying Bingley. This one novel will be exceptionally interesting to see what caused the confusion differently from all the others. Looking forward to a great reading!

  6. As with all your P&P variations, Julie, I am eager to read this one. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us.

  7. I can’t wait for the book’s release! Julie Cooper is one of my go-to fanfic authors. She never disappoints. Thanks for the great work!

  8. Interesting choice of headwear for Elizabeth. I never imagine her wearing a turban. Perhaps she’s more sophisticated and less hoydenish in this new tale!

    1. Me either, Regina. I think the publishers were going for a Bridgerton-esque feel. I’m sure you will find ODG within!

  9. Never in my imaginings have I envisaged Elizabeth in headgear (other than a bonnet) and yet she looks absolutely stunning and ‘just the thing ‘ on this cover … who knew?
Storyline sounds intriguing, can’t wait to read it.

  10. Oh, it’s in purple! Love it, and your readers are in for quite a treat! Loved the arc and can promise that this book is ahhhhhmazing!

  11. OMG! Love the colors! Lizzy looks like Elizabeth, standing proud and regal, looking most elegant. I just read the excerpt from Q&Q email, Looking forward to reading this

    1. O my, this sounds like a great story! I love this portrayal of Darcy I am very curious about this novel and would love to enter the giveaway! Thank you Julie, Meredith and Quills and Quartos for the opportunity to enter the giveaway! Best of luck to all!

  12. I love the purple dress, the headwear not so much, it reminds me of something Caroline Bingley would wear! As for the story? Fascinating! I can’t think what Darcy said or why, I also wonder how Elizabeth confronting him is mistaken for a proposal (although I’m definitely ok with that!) I can’t think what Mr Bennet’s problem is? Unless it’s due to Jane’s being upset? Romantic comedy is definitely a favourite of mine (maybe that headwear is Elizabeth’s idea of a joke?) whatever, I’m looking forward to more of this.

    1. Glynis, you and I think alike and obviously would have similar stylistic choices for ODG. I think the publishers were going for a Bridgerton feel! Regardless, hopefully you’ll chuckle at our bumbling boy courting his gorgeous girl and stay along for the ride. Thanks as always for your support!

  13. Right now I’m in the mood for some good laughs from a respected author and I think this book will fit the bill. Looking forward to reading this new story. Congratulations on publishing another book!

  14. Not the cover I was expecting, but intriguing nonetheless. Congratulations on your latest book – I can’t wait to read it!

    1. Me either, LilyaneB, me either! I hope you will enjoy the insides, and thanks so much for stopping by!

  15. I have another one of your books on my to get list, but then I received this email about a new which has me more intrigued! I’m wondering if all 7 sins start with the letter P? But that’s not the only question you’ve raised in my mind with the description.

    1. Thank you Carrie, I hope you’ll get a chance to read! (And no, they don’t all start with ‘p’ but I’m sure you know which ones do :))

  16. The cover is stunning, though I was quite surprised to find Elizabeth on the cover and not Mr. Darcy! I am intrigued by what is in Mr. Bingley’s past, and how Mr. Bennet is difficult when he cannot typically stir himself into action. Congratulations on your newest book!

  17. Love the elements of purple, black and gold. Lovely!

LOVE a Darcy who woos the woman he wants without the ongoing dilemma in his head. Congratulations on the new release.

  18. Congratulations on your latest book baby, Julie! I love the cover, and the premise sounds very interesting. Thanks for the chance to win a copy!

  19. All Julie Cooper books are wonderful, so I’m eager to find out exactly how Darcy has sinned! The cover is a stunner.

  20. The cover is beautiful! Thank you for sharing it along with the giveaway. Congrats and best wishes on the new release!

  21. I love this cover and the idea of Mr. Darcy’s sins revealed is definitely intriguing. I can’t wait forthis one!

  22. Beautiful cover! This sounds very intriguing! I‘m definitely looking forward as I really want to know what Darcy reveals about Bingley and how the misunderstanding about proposal for ODC? Very intriguing indeed!

  23. Between the title, the cover, and the description, I cannot wait to read this new book. It will be difficult to wait to see what sins will be attributed to Darcy and what he said about Mr. Bingley’s past that causes an upset in Jane!

  24. Lovely cover, but oh Mr. Darcy! I really enjoyed allof Julie Cooopers books sto far, and can’t wait to read this one.

  25. I love and own Jesse Cooper’s books. Having said that, this cover would not beg me to open the book. Is that supposed to be Lizzy or Caroline Bingley. My first thought was Caroline, because of the superior look in her eyes and tilt of her head. So NO, don’t care for the cover but know that story will make up for it.

    1. Yeah, publishers were going for a Bridgerton look & feel I think. I’m only in charge of the insides, and I hope, hope, hope you will enjoy it!

  26. OK. Lots of mysterious intrigue here. What could possibly be in Bingley’s past to cause Darcy to sabotage the wedding? What life events did Darcy go through and what are Mr Bennet’s concerns? I can hardly wait!

  27. This looks like something I’d rip through in a day! I’m all about comedic misunderstandings between Elizabeth and Darcy! Looking forward to reading this and thanks to Meredith for getting it on my radar/inbox!

  28. Of all the variations I’ve read there have been very few where Jane is anything less than completely enamoured of Mr Bingley and so I find it hard to think of what might have been shared that would make her change her mind. I personally think she should’ve made it a bit harder for him to win her back in the original. His lack of conviction has always been a bit hard to accept.

    1. Yeah, Sancia, I know, it was hard in those days for a woman in the ‘Bennet’ position to demand what she was truly worth–which, I suppose, is why Elizabeth was so unique! Don’t worry, this book is very D&E-centric, we won’t spend a lot of time on the Bingleys!

  29. Oh my, this sounds like a delightful diversion! 😀 I love the premise, and can only imagine what kind of ^drama^ may occur – cannot wait to dive in to this one, and crossing all my fingers (and toes) to perhaps snag a copy 🙂

  30. Quite an intriguing premise! Objectjng to a marriage– sounds like Darcy may be channeling Lady Catherine. Look forward to reading this.

  31. The excerpt in the email I received with Mrs Bennet’s antics sounds very entertaining. I look forward to reading more. 🙂

  32. I love the colors on this cover. The smile on her face is classic Lizzy. I’m looking forward to reading about a flawed Darcy.

  33. The smirk on her face really makes me wonder what she is thinking. I like the purple colors. Congrats on the new book.

  34. Like other readers, the turban gave me pause. Also the purple is a very strong colour for a maiden (unless this is post-marriage). Perhaps I’m over-thinking it. As an artwork. it’s stunning. And I know books with women on the cover tend to sell better than those with men on them. But I hoped for a roguish Darcy there too. One thing is for sure, the comments show that the cover generates strong responses and that has to be a good thing. Im looking forward to reading it too.

    1. Yes, I think the publishers were going for a Bridgerton-type look with this one, it is certainly less traditional. I know it is hard to get Darcy cover art that truly meets our very high expectations. Darcy owns a large dog in this story, a mutt who plays a key role. I wanted him on the cover. That would probably sell nothing at all, hahahahahaha! Thanks Kim!

      1. I think your cover choice of Darcy’s large dog (including a hazy Darcy in the background) would have been perfect! Plus, adorable dogs and children always sell!!! I do like this cover but share your Bridgerton opinion.

      2. Oh I think it would sell Julie. Much as a cover can attract our eye, it’s the author that carries the most weight for me, and I’m sure, for many others. I agree it’s hard to find the right Darcy. My imagination goes to Colin Firth, but I know Matthew McFadyen ( query spelling) has his fans.

  35. At first I thought the lady on the cover was Caroline Bingley (I think it was the turban). I loved the excerpt & look forward to reading!

    1. Ha! That was my thought as well. Yes, and the feathers. But no worries, Caroline plays very little role in this story! Thank you Lois!

  36. I cannot wait to read this book! The storyline is new and intriguing. Thank you for the giveaway and kudos in this new release.

  37. Congratulations on your new release! I always preorder your P&P books, including this one. I eagerly await it to appear in my Library. All my best to you!

  38. I am new to author Julie Cooper, and have recently become interested in Jane Austen.
I am an avid reader and would enjoy reading this book!

  39. Congratulations on your new book Ms Cooper. Love the cover. Reading this post, slightly shocked who this is. She looks elegant

  40. The book sounds so interesting and the cover is beautiful. My favorite color is purple. Congratulations on this new release. –Leslie

  41. When I saw the cover the first thing that popped into my mind was” did Caroline Bingley dye her hair? I prefer a younger look, without the feathers, and a playful countenance for Elizabeth. I can’t wait to read the story because Julie Cooper stories are all fantastic.

  42. The cover is great, it looks like Elizabeth is judging Darcy’s sins . Poor Darcy

The story sounds great too, definitely on my to-read-list. I really looking forward and can hardly wait

  43. Sorry to be late to the party. I thought I’d commented already. I LOVE that cover. Purple on a dark-haired Elizabeth is just magical. Her expression says, “I heard your insulting comment, sir. I find you… tolerable, as well.” HA! Take that Fitzwilliam Darcy. I can’t wait to read this.

Julie, I wish you much success in the launch of this book. Thanks to Meredith for hosting. You have the best job in getting the first look at the new cover. Also, thanks to Q&Q for the generous giveaway. Good luck to all in the drawing. Blessings.

  44. I love Julie’s books, and knowing that Darcy said something that had even dear, sweet, I can’t possibly think bad of anyone, Jane, questioning her marriage to Charles,
    As well as,
what could have drawn Darcy away before the ball, and brought about such a change in him?
I have got to read this book!

  45. A romantic comedy with Darcy and Elizabeth sounds interesting. I haven’t read one. I’m sure I’d enjoy it.

  46. O my, this sounds like a great story! I love this portrayal of Darcy I am very curious about this novel and would love to enter the giveaway! And the cover is stunning! Thank you Julie, Meredith and Quills and Quartos for the opportunity to enter the giveaway! Best of luck to all!

  47. Cover aside, I’ve never been disappointed in any of Julie’s books and this premise sounds so exciting. Can’t wait. Wishing Julie all the best luck with the launch of this new book.

  48. I love the expression of the lady on the cover which I presume is Elizabeth. I agree with Meredith’s assessment of her. It is like she has something up her sleeves, ready to pounce on anyone who dare to disagree with her. Beautiful cover as always from Q&Q.
