Hello, dear friends! It is such an exciting day today here at Austenesque Reviews because the lovely KaraLynne Mackrory is stopping by! Can I get a woot woot?!? 🙌🏼 🙌🏼 I know many of you are ardent admirers of all KaraLynne’s writing and are as eager for a new book from her as I am!

KaraLynne is here to share the beautiful cover of her new book – Blinded by Prejudice with us today! We hope you enjoy! 🤗

~ From the Author ~

What a pleasure it is to be back on Austenesque Reviews and with Meredith again. This blog has been a staple in Jane Austen Fan Fiction for longer than I have known and it is always a source for my next fix. Thank you, Meredith, for hosting me once again and for being such a long-standing supporter of all things Austen.

It has been several years since I have released a full-length novel, and I am excited to share with readers my latest, Blinded by Prejudice. As any author will tell you, there are always plot bunnies jumping around inside our minds and this one has been there for quite some time and patiently (and not-so-patiently at times) waiting to be written. Life was not conducive for a while to allow me to bring it out which makes it all the more special to me now that we have it. I might even say it is my favorite (gasp!). As many of my readers know, I love a vulnerable Darcy and a chastened, growing Elizabeth. Inspiration for this book came when I saw scenes in it grapple with my own heart strings and knew that I had to let these beloved characters live on in this new way. Thank you to all my long-time fans and hopefully some new ones for waiting patiently for me to bring another book around. I hope you enjoy the cover reveal!

~ Book Description ~

Into what kind of hell had I emerged from under those ruins?

Elizabeth Bennet anticipated nothing more than a pleasant day among friends and relations when the pleasure trip to the ruins of Bodden chapel commenced. But what began as mere diversion turns frightening when the walls of the ancient church tumble down around them, endangering lives, demolishing pride and propriety, and bringing a hero into focus.

As the earth begins to tremble, Fitzwilliam Darcy sees Elizabeth Bennet is in mortal danger and acts on instinct to save her. But when the dust settles, there are unforeseen consequences to his actions, including a serious injury to his eyesight.

I could not be married to a man who could need me the rest of his life, but never love me.

Bound together under the most strained circumstances, Darcy and Elizabeth embark on a future neither one of them saw coming. Time can heal all wounds but will time allow them to see through hearts made clear and eyes no longer blinded by prejudice?

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

(expected release date: September 20th)

I’m not sure which to comment on first – the cover or the premise! Both are fantastic! 😁

Such poise and elegance in this young woman, she looks like she can handle anything thrown at her. I love her gown and her hair too! 👗

Exploring ruins, mortal danger, and serious injury – I’m so intrigued! 🤗

I wonder at what point this misadventure is taking place is it pre-Hunsford? pre-Netherfield? or maybe outside of canon? 📖

What do you think, friends? 🤔

~ About KaraLynne Mackrory ~

KaraLynne began writing horrible poetry as an angst filled youth. It was a means to express the exhilaration and devastation she felt every time her adolescent heart was newly in love with “the one” and then broken every other week. As her frontal lobe developed, she grew more discerning of both men and writing. She has been married to her own dreamboat of a best friend, Andrew, almost 20 years. Together they have the migraine inducing responsibility of raising five children to not be dirt bags (fingers crossed), pick up their socks (still a work in progress), not fight with each other (impossible task) and become generally good people (there’s hope). She loves escaping into a book, her feather babies (the regal hens of Cluckingham Palace), and laughter.

She has written five books, a novella and participated in many anthologies. Her works include: Falling For Mr. Darcy; Bluebells in the Mourning; Haunting Mr. Darcy: A Spirited Courtship; Yours Forevermore, Darcy; BeSwitched; The Darcy Monologues; Rational Creatures; & Sun-Kissed: Effusions of Summer.

Now let me heap praise on this cover. I love the purple dress and her hair (especially with the wisps framing her face!)
I regularly read the other books by KaraLynne and am so looking forward to reading this one. I’m secretly hoping they have to marry and Elizabeth soon learns that Darcy loves her, but that’s just my love of low angst shining through! Whatever, I’m certain this will be another huge success!

    1. I love hearing all the speculation. I promise you will get all you want from it. Thanks for the support!

  10. OMG! Purple !! Absolutely loved the colour! So poignant especially as we read about loosing (even temporally) eyesight!
Such a compelling excerpt as well… Can’t wait for the release day!
(No gift card for me as well, but if I were to be the lucky winner, Reading BEFORE the others is always a gift )

  14. The cover and premise of this book both intrigue me–and I have long been admirer of the writing of Ms. Mackrory–her Bluebells in the Mourning is a favorite. Looking forward to reading her new story.

  15. The premise is such a brilliant idea I can’t wait to read it! Sqweee ! I’m so excited and I love love love the cover the purple is simple gorgeous ❤️

  16. Hi! The cover is at once stately and light. You can tell there is a duality to the story just from the cover.

  17. Yes!! This is wonderful to hear! And to a KaraLynne fan, news that this may be her favorite is utterly irresistible! The cover depiction of Elizabeth is fresh and lovely and the premise compelling. Thanks for the giveaway chance, and for a post that made my day.

  18. I have been a fan of her writing since I first read “Bluebells in the Mourning”. Congrats and good luck on the new release! I know I will be reading it.

  19. I’ve read hundreds of JAFF and some of this author’s books are part of the darlings’ group. Eagerly awaiting the release of this one.

  20. I’m so happy to discover this new story. I read Yours forevermore, Darcy and Haunting Mr Darcy. I love the cover because in the foreground I see Elisabeth from behind. She must be the main character. After reading the excerpt with plenty angst I hope a happy end. Good luck KaraLynne.

  21. It’s so exciting that Karalynne has a new book out. I know how much I struggle for time just with 2/5 of the number of her children, how on earth she has the mental energy to write, let alone the time leaves me in awe!

  22. Already on pre order love Kara’s stories always original compelling and so romantic. So looking forward to this new one I return read her books often.

  23. I agree that the cover is absolutely stunning. If I didn’t have the premise, the cover alone would draw me in. That purple dress, the hair with the wisps, the necklace, and the way her head is facing just so. I find the premise very interesting, even though it pains me to know that Darcy might not be able to see those fine eyes for a while.

  24. I absolutely love this premise! I would feel the same, it is better to be wanted than needed. We “need” to go to the dentist but we never “want” to go. Gonna preorder this one!

  25. Love them both, the vibrant colors and the standing up tall lady. Plus the wonderfull description of KaraLynne’s story !! With his sight gone Mr Darcy will see much more clearly what he wants in life and fight for it I think. Can’t wait to read this one 😀

  26. It makes me so happy to discover new books and authors! Having the opportunity to enter a contest is the icing on the cake!

  27. I am unfamiliar with this author and her work but the cover looks lovely. Still, one cannot judge a book by its cover. So if I am lucky enough to win this giveaway I will get a copy of this book and see what I appear to have been missing.

  28. The cover is beautiful!! I have enjoyed all of your books and was hoping you would have a new release soon. Can’t wait to read it. Congratulations on your new book.

  29. My heartstrings were pulled reading of Darcy’s eye injuries and the rest of the plot! Intriguing premise and a gorgeous cover–I’m covetous!

  30. I love KaraLynne‘s other books and I think this will also be a favorite! The premise sounds interesting and new – I can’t wait to see how it unfolds! And I also adore the deep purple of that dress! Congratulations to KaraLynne on the new book!

  31. I love KARALYNNE MACKRORY. She is one of my favorite authors and I have all of her books. The cover looks amazing, I love a strong Elizabeth.

  32. This looks truly promising! I am guessing this is post-Netherfield Ball, although I cannot wait to see the correct answer. As for the cover, I love that purple gown! It looks so rich and luxurious, and I can see the woman wearing it full of dignity and confidence. Thank you for this cover reveal and giveaway.

  33. Such a beautiful cover!!!. Love the premise! Those are power statement! can’t wait to know what transpires

  34. I’m so excited over a new Karalynne Mackrory coming. This one sounds pretty high angst, which is okay by me. I’ve just loved reading and rereading all your novels. I read Haunting Mr Darcy at least once a year.

The cover is divine. And the premise, oh my goodness. Can’t wait. Congratulations and great good luck Karalynne on your new book baby.

  35. This story gave me nightmares. Seriously, I became claustrophobic just reading it. What an amazing story. The writing was beautiful.

Thanks Meredith, for hosting. Thanks to KaraLynne and Q&Q Publishing for the generous giveaway. Good luck to all in the drawing. Blessings everyone, stay safe, and healthy. Looks like COVID is not done with us yet. GRRR!
