Isn’t this something exciting to look forward to! If you aren’t familiar with Anngela Schroeder, she is the author of some fantastic Pride and Prejudice variations (A Lie Universally Hidden, The Goodness of Men) and a contributor to many brilliant short-story anthologies (Then Comes Winter, Rational Creatures, Yuletide).  I am so happy to have Anngela visiting today to share her lovely cover with you for A Life Worth Choosing! Hi, Meredith! Thank you so much for hosting the cover reveal for A Life Worth Choosing.

The design is something that I absolutely adore, and have to give kudos to my amazing cover designer, Susan Adriani at Cloud Cat Designs, my photographer Paige Lampson of Paige Lampson Photography, and the costuming of Anna Morton at Thither Jane Austen.

When we did this photo shoot, I was so lucky to have my former Senior Class President home from college to model for us. We went to a local winery and had a great time playing dress up on a grand scale. There were dresses, spencers and bonnets hanging from trees like Christmas ornaments, and we laughed like school girls. For a moment, I was one of the Bennet sisters getting ready for the Netherfield Ball!

I knew right away that I wanted Susan to do my cover. Her designs are spectacular, and having worked with her before, I love her ability to breathe life into her work. The cover she created for my last full-length novel, The Goodness of Men, was one of my favorites. The colors were bold yet subtle, and the way she captured the longing of Elizabeth was perfect.

With this book, the title says it all, A Life Worth Choosing –– that a choice had to be made which would impact the rest of Mr. Darcy’s life. I wanted the readers to feel the emotions coming through the images of the characters. Luckily, my photographer Paige Lampson has an amazing gift for capturing just that! We sifted through at least 600 pictures to narrow it down to find exactly what we wanted. We then sent the file to Susan, and she used her talent to blow me away with her vision, once again. I only hope my readers can feel the sensations swirling through the pages as they do on the cover.

Reeling from the unexpected rejection of his proposal, Fitzwilliam Darcy prepares to quit Hunsford for London but not before he defends himself against Elizabeth Bennet’s accusations. He cannot forgive her harsh words; her assertion Mr. Wickham would have made a better son has cut him to the core.

Suffering an accident while delivering the fated letter, he wakes to a world he does not know—and to those who do not recognize him. With a new life, a different  name, and a fresh chance at winning the woman he loves, Darcy must decide which is A Life Worth Choosing ––the past he remembers or a future he has created for himself.

Elizabeth is stunning – I love her hair, the dress, the bonnet, the pose, the way the light is playing on her! Well done! How fun that your Elizabeth model is a former student! 📸

This premise of Mr. Darcy waking up like this is most intriguing! I cannot wait to see what happens to him! 🎩
