Austenesque Agenda – July 2020

Hello dear reader friends! Happy July to you! 🏖

Are you enjoying summer?  Work has been keeping me busy during the week, but on the weekends I am all about getting some sunshine and enjoying being outside! ☀️

In June I got my fill of berry-picking from our local farms. (I think I went and picked my own at least 6 times…I guess I like to work for my food!) 🍓🤣

I’ve also been checking out some new trails and enjoying some favorite trails . 🥾

On our Father’s Day hike.

And catching some lovely sunsets! 🌅(I don’t think I can do sunrises just now!)

A special bonus for June was when I had to take care of my brother’s 3 cats for a couple days. I had fun visiting them twice a day, giving them some love, and enjoying their antics …they soooooo wanted me to take them outside….in the rain! 🐈🌧

It is feeding time, can’t you tell?

As close to “going outside” as I was letting.

I’m hoping July will bring some more of the same! How about you? What have you been up to this summer so far?

  1. I really don’t know how you fit it all in Meredith! I’m still isolating as much as possible so haven’t done much besides read! I took some essentials to my Mum in her care home and passed Lyme Park on the way. The house and gardens were still closed and you had to book online to get in the grounds and car park as they are restricting numbers. Maybe one day things will get back to normal, including actually visiting my Mum instead of just dropping stuff off!
I love these posts for the amazing photos! Those berries look absolutely delicious, love your walk ways and the sunsets! Thank you for sharing.
I’m looking forward to your reviews and visits as usual.

    1. Hi Glynis! I am glad to hear you are keeping safe! And that is interesting about Lyme Park. I was thinking they might be fully closed still, but at least people can come walk the grounds…I am sure they are so lovely in the summertime! Oh yes! I hope things can improve for everyone soon – that must be especially hard to not be able to visit with your Mum.

Thank you for your kinds words. I am glad I was able to catch some beautiful sights this past month!

      Hugs!

  2. Love the photos of such beautiful places – and the cats are adorable! Thanks for sharing. What do you do with all your berries? I am excited “Kitty” is on your schedule!

    1. Thank you! I am especially fond of these fur babies!

I am not doing anything too fancy with the berries – I ate a bunch of strawberries – I love snacking on them, and froze a most of the blueberries and blackberries for smoothies.

My mom made blueberry ice cream with her blueberries – it was amazing!! She sometimes makes jams too.

  3. I so admire the way you find balance in your life, and treasure the moments of beauty and joy!

Looking forward to your reviews of Resolution and Being Mrs. Darcy!

    1. Thank you, Abigail. That is lovely of you to say. I sometimes feel like life can be overwhelming! And I am finding more and more that nature is always there to bring some much needed beauty and joy…so I continue to seek it out.

Glad to hear you are looking forward to those reads and reviews!

  4. I love your brother’s cats! They seem adorable but also naughty LOL. The pic of they watching outside the rain is so cute! It’s like a cozy postcard 🙂
And the sunset! WOW, the colour is awesome!.
I would have liked to go to the farms and enjoy those delicious berries: what a splendid way of welcoming summer!
Your agenda is ambitious, as you say, LOL. I can’t believe Maria Grace has another dragon book: it’s impossible to catch up with these creatures!!
I want to start reading “President Darcy ” by Victoria Kincaid one of these days. Now that I think about it, tomorrow would be the perfect day: 4th July LOL, it’s really a coincidence!!
Have a delightful July plenty of outdoors and sweet readings 😉

    1. LOL! Teresa! They so are…he always has stories about them to share! 🙂

That sunset was crazy…right after a bunch a rain and clouds.

I wish we had more farms near us….I wouldn’t mind going out and picking other things like apples and such. 😉

It is exciting about Maria’s new book! That is quite a lot to catch up on!

And what a perfect book to read around the 4th of July! I hope you love that one!! I sure did!

      Happy reading, friend!

  5. That’s a lot of reading you have planned! I know you can do it, and I admire you for it, Meredith. The books you have chosen are a rather mixed bunch, some the newer Austenesque and some with the old style plot twists just slightly different in their interpretation (as far as I can see). I know you’re going to get a lot of enjoyment out of them. It’ll be an interesting month here!

  6. Hi Meredith! Glad to see such lovely pictures. I have been hardly anywhere! It’s only now that lockdown is loosening up a bit in my part of the UK. We have been limited to 5 miles from the house since the end of March and that’s only being lifted on Monday. You would think that this would mean a lot of free time but it hasn’t ended up that way!

Very much looking forward to your posts this month. I’m hoping that I can get some reading in towards the end of the month too!

    1. Thank you for checking out my pictures, Ceri! I’m glad to hear that some restrictions are being lifted near you…that is hard about the 5 miles limit…that means I wouldn’t have been able to see my parents or brother…or go to some of my favorite reading spots. I hope you are able to venture out safely and enjoy your summer a little now!

And yes, I hope you are able to enjoy some wonderful reads as well!

  7. I’m with Glynis, I love your photos. You take amazing pictures, hello to your Mr. Bingley. In looking at the walking trails and tall trees… I immediately started relaxing and my rapid breathing slowed. Sigh. Those berries looked delicious and so the picture was so clear I could almost reach out and pick my own box full. Cobbler anyone? LOL! Your schedule is pretty full of lots of interesting authors and books. I can’t wait to see what you do. Blessings, everyone, stay safe, and healthy.

    1. Thank you, Jeanne! I am so happy to hear these photos have that lovely effect on you! 😉 I keep meaning to print and frame some!

I so wish I could share these berries with you! I’d be so happy to go back and pick you a bucket full of your favorite!

Hugs, friend! I hope this month finds you healthy and happy!

  8. These are lovely pictures esp the lake and park. I envy you – I love to pick fruits too. Too bad they use to hae apple picking in our aea. They stopped doing that years ago

    1. I don’t have mountains nearby or different types of forests – but I do enjoy the waterways!

Oh that is a shame, that is something fun to pick! We have to drive 5 hours to reach apple picking farms here.

  9. Yikes! It’s already a couple reviews into the month’s agenda here and I’m finally getting to read this post. I still get to say I’m looking forward to the rest of the month with the great interviews and reviews coming up. And that I was so happy to see some photos again. And were they ever great! Those sunsets, stunning. Loved the cats and the berries and the Father’s Day photo. 😀 Like everyone else, I admire you for how much you accomplish every month! Enjoy the rest of July.

    1. LOL! And I’m only getting to reply to your comment a week after you left it! ‍♀️

Thanks so much for checking out my agenda, and I am glad I had some new photos to share. I was worried I might need to start sharing the same pictures of the same hikes and reading spots!

Hope you are enjoying your July and that you are doing well!
