Austenesque Agenda – May 2020

Hi dear friends! Happy May!! 🌸

How crazy was your April? Were you busy or bored? Were your days filled with working and homeschooling tasks at home, or did you have time to tackles some projects and try something new? 😊

I spent my April busy working, reading, and blogging. 🎹📚💻

The weather has been incredibly beautiful here, so I tried seizing all opportunities to be outside!

It wasn’t Donwell, but these strawberries are amazingly perfect.

How about you, friends?

  1. I cannot fathom how you manage to do all that you do each month, given the number of new JAFF books and authors. I enjoyed your interview with Jennifer and am looking forward to seeing what Jack is up to, as well as the other authors. I have not heard of most of these books so your reviews will help me determine which to add to my TBR list.

    1. You are so sweet, Brenda. I love running this blog and I am happy to spend my free time reading, sharing posts, and talking with authors!

I’m glad to be featuring some new reads for you this month!

  2. I started reading and then put down Becoming Lady Darcy. Perhaps I should pick it up again to see if your review agrees with mine…when I get to it. I have read most of Jack Caldwell’s books and look forward to a new one, as Persuasion is my second favorite of JA’s books and the title makes me think this is a variation of that. I have also read stories by most of the other authors and look forward to reading about any new releases. I plan to read Beauty and Mr. Darcy. As always your photos are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing here.

    1. Yes, isn’t exciting to hear that Jack has a new book coming out and that it is Persuasion-related! I feel like I’ve not read about Captain Wentworth lately – so I am definitely looking forward to this book!

Thanks for checking out my agenda and sharing your thoughts!

  3. Meredith, I’m with Brenda. HOW do you keep up. The blog is amazing and I’m thrilled to be a part of it thsi month. Have a good one! jen ♫

  4. I am looking forward to actually letting people into the library!!! We have been “working in place” and while I am getting alot done, I would like to see my “Peeps” back. I like this website mucho as it is great source for many of the newest JAFF. Can’t wait for Jack’s newest to be out, Brenda Webb – do you have any new ones in the pipeline? I have many of yours and re=read them alot. Redladzyk is another I enjoy. We are actually getting out of the house and down to San Antonio TX to see my sister and friends, cannot wait. Be safe, be well.

    1. Oh, I hope you can do that soon, Hollis! I can’t imagine how many people are missing going to their libraries!

I am so glad to hear you like visiting this blog and that it is helpful! I will answer your question, because I don’t know if Brenda saw it (and because I think I know the answer!) I believe Brenda is working on 2 stories (and they both sound phenomenal!)

Enjoy your time with your family!!

  5. Hi Meredith!

Oh my goodness, what beautiful woodland walks! And that sunset over the water was amazing!

Were the strawberries as juicy and delicious as they look? LOL Mrs E is right about one thing: freshly picked strawberries, still warm from the sun, are so yummy!

Can’t wait to be your guest this month. Thanks so much for having me!

Hope you have a lovely and peaceful May, with plenty of fun things to do. Lots of hugs and stay safe!

    1. Thank you, Joana! I’ve seen a lot green trees but not as many flowers as you have this spring!!

I’ve probably picked almost 2 buckets worth now…might go back for a little more. And yes, they were so delicious! If I could mail them to you I so would!!

It is so exciting to look forward to your visit later this month! Hope you keep well and all continues to go well with your next project!

  6. Heavens! Talk about not having a moment to spare! I’m still reading for Christina’s read-a-thon but I’m also crocheting blankets and doing jigsaws as well as trying to clean and tidy (the last not so much)
I keep thinking I will read shorter books to boost my numbers but really I just have to read what I want.
I’ve just reread Elizabeth, Obstinate, Headstrong Girl and I see that’s one of your reads this month. You’ll love it. All the stories are fabulous! The last one, by Christina, is so emotional!
I did read Jennifer’s book as it was posting but will definitely read it again! I’m also planning on reading The Bennet Affair soon.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos (it’s just a shame we couldn’t share those beautiful strawberries.)
    Take care and stay safe.

    1. Those sound like lovely ways to stay busy, Glynis! We would do well to be quarantined together as those are all activities I enjoy as well!

I am halfway through Elizabeth: Obstinate, Headstrong Girl – and it has been such a treat!

I so wish I can send a pack of strawberries to all my friends! They are indeed a special treat here!

  7. Beautiful pics!!!! Awesome landscapes and delicious strawberries! 😉
I’ve been working a lot and reading more than usual so I am glad for it.
WOW your May agenda, it’s so promising!.
I’ll be looking forward to hearing your opinion of “Beauty and Mr Darcy” and the visit of Riana Everly. And the cover of “Outmatched ” is so fun that I’m curious about Jayne Bamber’s words 🙂
Happy May! It seems we’re beginning to see the light step by step…

    1. Thank you, Teresa! I am very happy to hear you have been able to read more this past month!

And I’m glad you are looking forward to our reviews and author visits! I agree about the cover of Outmatched!!

Hope you stay well and enjoy a wonderful month!

  8. I have enjoyed a blend of ease and activity here so a good month of April. 🙂 Lovely pictures of your outside time.

That’s a nice stack you have in the review pile and a handsome line up of guests. I’ve got a couple of those for review, too. Enjoy!

    1. That’s great Sophia – I’m glad you were able to enjoy both!

Thanks for checking out my plans for May! Hope you enjoy a month of great reads yourself!

  9. Beautiful photos as always. You have an amazing camera. Those are so relaxing. I’ve not read a lot during April. This time last year I had read twice what I’ve read so far. Well, my hands are pretty busy with care-giving right now. I’ll catch up. I keep adding to my TBR pile so I have them when I am ready. Blessings, Meredith [hello to your Mr. Bingley]. Keep safe and healthy. I love your blog.

    1. Thank you, Jeanne. It has been lovely to watch spring arrive here, I can’t help snapping pictures when I’m outside.

You are so wonderful to be care-giving and donating your time for others. Thank you for always making time to pay AR a visit, I appreciate seeing you here! Stay well!

  10. It’s been a soul searching month, and I chose to step away from a few groups I admined on FB. I was no longer passionate with the topics of the groups (and had not been for months). This, however, has helped me further explore the world of JA. I made some scones for the first time; I am a slow reader, but I was able to read (the original) Sense and Sensibility and a couple of JAFF. Next will be Northanger Abbey, and I’m planning to read a nonfiction guide to 19th century England. Hopefully your post will inspire me to read more books! I especially love the photo of you and the strawberries…

    1. I’m glad you found yourself exploring more JA and Austenesque stories this month! It has been lovely to see you hear and Facebook! Ooh! Scones are lovely – how fun that you made them for the first time. We need to get together and combine my strawberries with your scones!

Happy reading!! I love hearing that you enjoyed S&S and are starting Northanger Abbey next!

Your conversation and participation are always welcome; please feel free to "have your share."
