Yours Forevermore, Darcy

~ Book Description ~

Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy has a secret. The letter he presented to Miss Elizabeth Bennet after his ghastly proposal is not the only epistle he has written her. In this tale of longing, misadventure and love, Jane Austen’s dearly loved Pride & Prejudice, is readapted as our hero has learned a powerful way of coping with his attraction to Miss Bennet. He writes her letters. The misguided suitor has declared himself, and Elizabeth Bennet has refused him, most painfully. Without ever intending for these letters to become known to any soul, Mr. Darcy relies on his secret for coping once again. However, these letters, should they land in the wrong hands, could amount to untold scandal, embarrassment and possibly heartbreak. But what would happen should they fall into the right hands?

~ Excerpt from Yours Forevermore, Darcy ~

Darcy rubbed his face while he waited for the ink to dry. Groaning, he folded the missive then addressed and sealed it. It was to her—always her. Miss Elizabeth Bennet. Unfortunately, he was never to send her this letter or any others he had written her. It had begun as a cathartic activity for him to write to her. Whenever he had felt overwhelmed by his feelings, he would pull out a fresh sheet, address it to her, and write them down. Then, just like all the others, to finish it off, he would write her direction and seal it. Knowing that she would not receive it did not deter him. And now it had become a compulsion of sorts.

Looking at the letter sitting upon his desk, he laughed humorlessly for being so ridiculous. It was one thing to write to her. It was quite another to complete the process by preparing it to post. But in his mind, those final steps made him feel he was sealing his feelings away. The Darcy crest stamped into the hot wax was an ultimate statement that he had purged those feelings within him. Standing, Darcy went to his bookshelf, removed a large tome, and brought it to his desk. The volume had been hollowed out long before he assumed ownership of it from his father. His father had used it as a secret hiding spot for important documents. But Darcy had since installed locks on his desk, so for years the tome had no purpose until some many months before when he first met one Elizabeth Bennet of Longbourn and began to write. Now it held all his letters to her. Despite their innocuous nature, he was loath to part with any of them.

Tenderly, Darcy placed the latest letter on top the others, closed the book, and replaced it at the corner of his desk instead of returning it to the shelf. He ought to have done so, but was not yet ready to put that much distance, even the extra few feet, between him and this connection he held with Elizabeth.

*sigh* Darcy writing Elizabeth countless letters is completely swoon-worthy! 🥰

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

Love it! 😍

Mr. Darcy looks like he is mid-letter, maybe his mind has gone wandering about a certain pertinent miss. 🤔

Is it weird that I love Mr. Darcy’s hands in this cover?  🤚🏼

Bluebells in the Mourning

~ Book Description ~

Jane Austen’s beloved Pride and Prejudice is readapted in this regency tale of love in the face of tragedy. Mr. Darcy is thwarted in his attempt to propose to Elizabeth Bennet at Hunsford when he encounters her minutes after she receives the sad news from Longbourn of her sister’s death. His gallantry and compassion as he escorts her back to Hertfordshire begins to unravel the many threads of her discontent with him. While her family heals from their loss, Darcy must search London for answers – answers that might bring justice, but might also just mark the end of his own hopes with Elizabeth. Is it true that nothing can be lost that love cannot find?

~ Excerpt from Bluebells in the Mourning ~

After their last stop, Elizabeth was startled when Darcy entered the carriage. She had thought he would continue on horseback for the last leg of their journey. She carefully observed his darkened brow and wondered at its cause. She rationalized he was ill tempered upon returning to a part of the country that he had so quickly abandoned for fashionable London not six months before. A familiar disapproval of him returned to her heart, aggravated by how little he esteemed her friends and neighbors. Having determined that Mr. Darcy might also disapprove of her friendship with his sister, Elizabeth decided to speak. Coldly, she stated, “I would speak to you about something, Mr. Darcy.” Georgiana should not have to suffer the consequence of her brother’s disapproval of her friendship with Elizabeth.

Mr. Darcy looked up from his hands; Elizabeth’s frosty demeanor was not lost on him. Considering his own self-censuring thoughts, it seemed oddly deserved. He nodded for her to continue.

Observing Maria still asleep, Elizabeth thrust Georgiana’s note at Mr. Darcy.

Puzzled, he reluctantly accepted the missive and raised his brows for explanation.

“Your sister made a request of me that I thought you ought to be aware of, sir.”

“And will you not tell me the manner of this request, Miss Elizabeth?” Darcy held the letter in his hands, preferring not to read the private letter of his sister.

“If you will not read the letter yourself, then I will tell you. She requested permission to further our acquaintance through correspondence.”

I wish I had thought of that. His joy was open until he realized her tone was anything but happy. His visage became grim.

Hiding his disappointment, he said, “Am I to assume the prospect is distasteful to you?”

Elizabeth narrowed her eyes in confusion. “On the contrary, sir. I like your sister very much, and I would be happy to further our friendship in this manner. However, I am conscious of the fact that you are her brother and guardian and therefore have the power to choose her acquaintances. I simply made you aware of her request so that you could inform her of your disapproval in a manner best suited for her temperament. I am sure when you explain your reasons, she will not see my reluctance to accept as hurtful —”

“Miss Bennet”—Darcy’s voice was grave as he interrupted her—“do you think that I would disapprove of her writing to you?”

“Indeed, I do, sir!” Elizabeth was skeptical of his performance and filled with exasperation as she exclaimed, “You made your opinion quite clear last autumn when you found the inhabitants of Hertfordshire, and indeed those in residence at Longbourn, to be quite below your notice. I should think you would not approve of your sister corresponding with someone from that district.” Elizabeth paused to draw breath, attempting to remain in control of herself. “Do you deny it?”

Always misunderstanding each other… 🤦🏻‍♀️

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

I adore the color palette with this cover! 🎨

These flowers look so beautifully real, I can smell them! 💐

What do you think, friends? 🤔

~ About KaraLynne ~

KaraLynne began writing horrible poetry as an angst filled youth. It was a means to express the exhilaration and devastation she felt every time her adolescent heart was newly in love with “the one” and then broken every other week. As her frontal lobe developed, she grew more discerning of both men and writing. She has been married to her own dreamboat of a best friend, Andrew, for 17 years.

Together they have the migraine inducing responsibility of raising five children to not be dirt bags (fingers crossed), pick of up their socks (still a work in progress), not fight with each other (impossible task) and become generally good people (there’s hope). She loves escaping into a book, her feather babies (the regal hens of Cluckingham Palace), and laughter.

She has written four books and participated in many anthologies including: Falling For Mr. Darcy;
Bluebells in the Mourning; Haunting Mr. Darcy: A Spirited Courtship; Yours Forevermore, Darcy; The
Darcy Monologues; Rational Creatures; and Sun-Kissed: Effusions of Summer.

  23. Reading the excerpts was like visiting an old friend, I need to go on a Mackrory reread-a-thon. I read ‘Haunting’ at least once a year, usually between Halloween and New Years, what a brilliant story!!!! Congratulations on the beautiful new covers, I hope they attract lots of new readers to her books. As I scrolled down for the cover reveal I almost gasped out loud when I saw the flowers. Be still my heart. I wish KaraLynne the very best. I’m so hoping to read a new book from her, as soon as those five darlings will let her.

Thank you as always Meredith. And thank you to Q&Q for the giveaway.

  24. Congratulations on the releases! I have read “Bluebells in the Mourning” and loved it, but not “Forevermore Yours, Darcy”. I wonder if Darcy’s letters are as swoon worthy as Captain Wentwort’s, so maybe it’s time for it.
