Austenesque Agenda – February 2019

AA

Hi friends! I hope you have been enjoying a great 2019 so far! I’ve felt like it took me all month to get my act together! LOL! 😳 With holidays, family visits, and returning to work – I was perpetually behind on everything!

In January, we took the month off from traveling – not sure if it was intentional or unintentional. And instead enjoyed some fun activities and guests!

Our first guests were Mr. Bingley’s cousins who we met up with in NYC. 🗽

We enjoyed some extra time with them, and being able to take them to our favorite places and have them meet our friends. 🤗

And our second guest is someone you may know – Author Elizabeth Adams!!! Elizabeth was coincidentally visiting our area and we were thrilled to have her stay with us!! 😊

It was such a treat to meet her in person and to be able to spend so much time together talking about all things – not just Jane Austen. 😉 Elizabeth is super fun and wonderful! (She is even lovelier than I expected!)

Her visit to our area also finally brought Author Samantha Whitman and I together! 😃

Samantha moved to NC a few months back, but due to hurricanes and holidays we sadly did not get the chance to meet until now (I know, so shameful!!) I’m so, so, so glad we finally did! Samantha is absolutely lovely and we have a lot in common – not just Jane Austen and our fondness for our Mr. Bingleys! I hope we get to hang out together lots more! 🥰

Other than those lovely visits, Mr. Bingley and I enjoyed some weekend hikes and catching some sunsets!!

How is your 2019 so far?

    1. I do, Jennifer! I’m excited though, some of these books – like yours – are ones I’ve been waiting patiently to be able to read!

Me too! I’ve loved all the lovely authors and readers I’ve met so far!

  1. My goodness! You are jumping into February with lots to do. I have been ‘eyeing’ some of these books and I can’t wait to hear your opinion. I have read Jennifer’s book, Darcy’s Melody, and found it very entertaining. Nice that Elizabeth Adams got to drop by, as well as Samantha Whitman. Always fun to see authors having fun together.

    1. Yes!! And I’m hoping I get to do it all!! That’s great that you’ve got your eye on some of these lovely books! We had so much fun together, we were sad for Elizabeth to go home!

  2. Well I had a great start to February! Today I met Joana and Rita in Lyme Park 🙂
The house is closed but we walked round the lake etc and had a drink with cake in the cafe. I left them about to walk the garden again before visiting the pond!
As for your books, I loved Darcy’s Melody and am planning on reading A Very Austen Valentine, Through a different Lens and The Most Interesting Man in the World soon and others are on my list.
Happy reading Meredith and I look forward to more photos.

  3. Ha, that does sound like a fun month of visits. Tiring, but fun. Looks like you have some good ones on your planned read pile.

    Have a great February, Meredith!

    1. Yes!! Especially since we very rarely do have guests here! We almost had Mr. Bingley’s boss too…but that was luckily postponed!

Hope you are enjoying a lovely, February so far!

  4. Your energy and thus your very full schedule leaves me only smiling. The phrase about the energy of youth surely fits. How lovely for you to have met with two authors this month on top of relatives. Your reading agenda has some books I have read and some I want to read…or reread. Thanks for sharing and the lovely photos.

    1. You are so sweet, Sheila! I like having a plan and trying to stick to it!! If only I had more hours in the day!! 🙂

Hope you are doing well and staying warm, my friend!

  5. What fun, lovely photos, great friends, and many great books to look forward to reading. Say hello to Mr. Bingley.

  6. I really like JAFF meet ups. I was lucky enough to become close enough to some JAFF buddies that we met for a second time at a wedding of a JAFF buddy in NOLA a couple of years ago. Mr. Suze jokes that I have close friends in every city I go to. Great line up for the month, Meredith.

    1. Me too!! How fun!! I’ve been able to meet a few when we travel, but I hope to continue and meet many more! How fun to celebrate a friend’s wedding together!

  7. Wow how exciting! So glad you finally got to meet Elizabeth and Samantha. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Wish I could have been there too! And you’ve some exciting stuff coming up on this site. I’m especially look forward to reading your review of ‘Unmarriageable’. Enjoy your February!

  8. What wonderful photos, Meredith! I’m so glad you and Elizabeth had such a fabulous time together. Have a cozy February and can’t wait for the reviews and guest posts. Looks like a great lineup!

  9. Although here we are a week in already, I’m looking forward to this month’s agenda. I’m glad January is over and February is here. Whether or not it was the weather or getting over the holidays, January was rather slump-ish here abouts. When everyone is talking about New Year’s resolutions and healthier eating and back to the gym, I’m struggling to stay warm and/or awake in the darkness of winter, ha! So. New month, check. New agenda, check. Woo! Sounds like a pretty eventful month of January for you. Getting together with family and friends and hosting company is so much more important and memory making than sticking to a strict blog schedule. You do so much for us. It gives us all a smile to see having a good time.

    1. Yay! I’m so glad you are looking forward to our plans this month! I’m hope your February goes better than January did!!

You are a dear! It was a busy month and we had lots of fun with out guests!
