Austenesque Agenda – July 2018

AA

Happy 4th of July to those who are celebrating! And to my friends in Canada, I hope you enjoyed a lovely Canada Day!  Anyone doing anything fun to celebrate? We are off to the beach for the whole day – yay! I know it will be mad-busy, but I don’t care! Should be fun.  🙂

As for what we’ve been up to in June…so much! Lots of traveling, lots of camping, lots of family. 🙂  At the beginning of the month we had our first camping trip on our beloved Carolina Beach for Mr. Bingley’s birthday.

And from there we traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, Charleston, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina for more gig/camping trips. (Whenever Mr. Bingley has a wedding to play for out of town, we’ve decided to turn it into a little bit of a weekend trip!)

Other than that we’ve seen a My Fair Lady production put on by our local theatre and my mom and I saw Ocean’s 8 last weekend. Mr. Bingley and I saw Tag and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom too. 🙂 I thought all movies were wonderful, but Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was my favorite!

  1. I love the pictures of your camping trips and the tent attachment to the truck is the bomb! Someone sure came up with a great idea! 🙂 Looking forward to all the books/authors to be featured in July, especially my pal Joana Starnes who never disappoints, and I have liked everything Karen Cox has ever written. Some of the authors are new to me and I can’t wait to learn more about them as well. I have buckled my seat belt for the ride and am packed and ready!

  2. Stunning pics….loved the tiny truck underneath the gigantic trees! A fun movie we ourselves caught was “Uncle Drew.” We just returned from a fun trip out to Glacier National Park! Excited to be part of your July Reading List!

    1. Thank you, Don! I almost missed seeing that shot! It is one of my favorite from the summer so far! Oooh! That sounds like a very fun trip, I hope you enjoyed it!

  3. Happy 4th of July to you and Mr. Bingley!

I love all your camping photos. You were at some gorgeous places. I think it absolutely wonderful that the two of you do so many fun and neat things together! Bravo!

You have some great posts coming and I am eagerly anticipating all of them!

    1. Thank you, my friend! I hope you enjoyed a happy 4th with your family!

Mr. Bingley is the best, most easy going, most fun traveling companion! I love going places with him, it only makes we want to continue doing more together!

  4. Happy summer! Thanks for the smile your pictures gave me! The truck camping tent looks neat. 🙂 Hope you continue to have fun adventures and happy reading!

  5. We didn’t do much for Canada Day as we had just had house guests for a week, plus the weather was cool and super windy. We did watch the fireworks from our rooftop patio, though. Today’s weather is supposed to be fabulous, so bike ride.

  6. OMG your camping trips are awesome!!! And those photos – wow! The one with the large tree in the foreground especially, that jumped right at me. Great image!!

Have lots more camping fun & please post more pics, and thanks SO much for hosting me this July with my new book, it’s so wonderful to be your guest!

Take care, have a lovely summer and hope you and Pedro can pencil in another UK trip soon!!

    1. Thank you, sweet friend! It is has be a lot of fun – keeping us busy, for sure! 🙂

Oh! I’m so very happy to celebrate your new release, Joana! I’m so pleased for you that this day is finally here! I cannot wait to read The Darcy Legacy!!! Hope the rest of your month is wonderful!

Crossing my fingers that it can happen soon!

  7. Fun pictures! Looks like you’re having a perfectly wonderful 4th of July.

Wow, you will be busy this month. But a great agenda, some new books to me, and also looking forward to your impressions of the one I’m familiar with….and loved…Don Jacobson’s book. I’m really excited for the guest appearances too. A new author to me, too. You were off to a great start with Joana’s appearance. That was wonderful.

P.S. From the ‘Bookish Photos’ I loved your book ‘flag.’

    1. Hi Michelle! 🙂 Yes, it has been quite an active summer so far! A lot going on everywhere! Oh yay! I’m so happy to hear you lobed Don’s book – I”m in the middle of it now. 🙂

Thank you for all your kind words, it looks to be such a promising and fun month!!!

Thanks! It was a lot of fun to make! Mr. Bingley came up with the idea to have the blue books on the side like that, I was going to just put them on top of the others. 😉

  8. WOW!!! I’ve never seen a camping rig like that one on your truck before… em… Mr. Bingley’s truck… sorry. What fun. You guys are having a ball. When you are older [as I am] you will be SO glad you did things while you were young and able. I wouldn’t even be able to climb into that thing. It looks like so much fun. Y’all take the best photos and thanks for sharing them with us.

You have a busy schedule with books and author’s visits planned for July. I am looking forward to all of them. I have not seen the movies but want to. I may just wait and get the videos when they come out. Blessings my dear…oh, and say hello to Mr. Bingley for me.

    1. LOL! I didn’t know these existed either until Mr. Bingley showed me videos and pictures of them. 😉 We’ve been enjoying our adventures together so far – camping is so much more different than our usual travel/stay at a hotel/be around things you need experiences. 😉

July has to be one of the busiest months for authors my blog has ever seen! I’m so happy though – so many great returning authors are visiting and celebrating their new releases as well as some special new ones! 😉

Hugs to you, Jeanne, from me and Mr. Bingley. 🙂

  9. Like everyone else, I absolutely love that tent/truck rig you have going there! Looks more comfortable than sleeping on the ground! Your pictures of the water are fabulous and what fun weekends you both have been having. It has been hot and humid here, so I’ve been in the lake most of our Canada Day weekend along with our company (my son and his girlfriend). They actually went twice to Sandbanks Beach here in The County.

What a line up of wonderful authors and books you have this month. I am looking forward to all of them! Can’t wait for Cat’s cover reveal on the 9th!!! I’m hoping to get a bit more reading in during the next couple of weeks, if I can. I seem to read less at this time of year as we have a fair bit of outdoor work to do and we get more company. We hope to go see the Star Wars ‘Solo’ tomorrow. I’m hearing great things about the Jurassic movie. All in good time!

Enjoy your July and I look forward to all your posts this month!

    1. Thank you, Carole! 🙂 It is pretty comfortable…I’m still looking for more padding though. 😉 That’s great that you been enjoying the lake as a way to beat the heat! 😉 I love being in/near water and the temperature of our ocean water right now is perfect!

The one downside of all our travel is I think I am reading a little bit less (or a little bit slower) as I don’t always find the times available each day. I’m hoping to still be able to keep up with all the reading that I want to do though! Hope you enjoy Solo, we haven’t seen that one yet! 🙂

Hope you enjoy a terrific month, my friend!

  10. I loved all of your amazing camping photos, Meredith!! And what an incredible line-up of authors!! I am especially excited for Paisley James as I’ve been a devoted reader of her series on FanFiction.net; I’ve read To Save and Protect at least five times before she published it “for reals”!! The other two books in the series are absolutely wonderful, too, and I can’t wait to see them published as well!!

    Happy Independence Day!!

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

    1. Thank you, Susanne! It has been fun to take pictures of everything! Sometimes it is hard because the pictures just don’t compare to what we are actually seeing (in person it is so much better!)

So thrilled to hear you love Paisley James’s new release! I read the first couple of chapters on amazon and am so eager to read more!!! Such an interesting premise!

  11. Oh fun! I love that you guys are able to get in some camping. I would like to see Ocean’s 8 at some point. Wow, great line up of books and guests!

    Enjoy your July, Meredith!

  12. Beautiful pics! How amazing trees!. It’s a great plan to go camping with such overwhelming landscapes 😉
Your July agenda is full of events! .I’m curious about Karen Cox ‘ s novel and Victoria Kincaid ‘s.
Ay this time I’m not reading any austenesque reading (I’m reading the Lord of the rings books) but I think the time has come to plan several summer austenesque novels and I’m in the mood for adventure so I’ll pick up Kara Louise ‘ s pirates! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Teresa. I agree, being away from the cities and in more untamed nature has a lot of advantages! 🙂

Ooh LOTR is fun! I’ve not read them yet myself, but I definitely need to! Great choice! Hope you enjoy some Austenesque reads this month!
