Austenesque ARC Giveaway #6!

It is time for another Austenesque ARC Giveaway!!!  This one is the Halloween edition!  All three books I have to give away are perfect reads for October!!  Especially if you like vampires!

And as you might remember, I find these books to give away when I do a periodic cleaning of my bookcase. (One of my favorite past times!)

While cleaning, I thought I’d take some photos of some books grouped together…because who doesn’t love pictures of books grouped together? 😉

My Mystery Austenesque Collection

As you can see, I’m much more into solving mysteries than I am encountering vampires and the undead.  In fact, this may be a shocking revelation – but I never read any of the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies books.  Just didn’t feel like my cup of tea, I do enjoy the occasional vampire or werewolf story though – provided it isn’t too graphic or violent.

And now we get to the good part…what I’m giving away today!!  I’ve got 3 books looking for new homes!

  1. I really love vampire’s stories! I enjoyed very much “Dark falls upon Pemberley” even if I find it too short and whit many aspects that can be developed more. I wish to read more of this kind of Austenesque novels! So, I would like to read “Mr Darcy vampire” since I know author Amanda Grange and her style. Thank you very much for the giveaway Meredith!

  2. Hi Meredith, that is very kind of you and thank you for the giveaway but vampire stories and modern versions of P & P are just not my cup of tea. I have tried them but just not for me. But a very generous thought so good luck to those are lucky enough to win.

    1. I’ve dipped my toe into the paranormal genre, but for awhile I’ve not been to inclined to explore and read more. I loved the ones by Syrie James and the werewolf stories by Ola Wegner and Mary Simonsen, though and most likely will read them again.

  3. Have learned to love things paranormal,
most especially vampires! Thank you for
the giveaway. I would like to read Jane
    Austen Vows Vengeance.

  4. I think you might be pleasantly surprised by the zombie books–they are hilarious! And cleverly tucked into the stories…

  5. You haven’t read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? I’m shaking my head in mock disapproval, Meredith. I’m not a huge fan of paranormal, but that one was very humorous. It was fun to see how much of Austen’s original language was used, yet with a zombie apocalypse thrown in that doesn’t seem as out of place as you’d think. When you find yourself with nothing to read (ha ha) you may want to give it a chance.

I prefer Auatenesque mysteries to paranormal, too, but I’d give Jane And the Damned or Jane Austen Vow Vengeance a try. It’s always fun when you clean out your bookshelves 🙂 thank you for thinking of us rather than give them to your library book sale.

    1. I’m such a disappointment, aren’t I? Need to turn in Jane Austen book blogger card, don’t I? If I feel the urge to read something with zombies, I’ll definitely pick it up!

🙂 I’m sure these books would find a happy new home if I brought them to the library book sale, but it is way more fun to give them to you all! 🙂

  6. I, too, am not into JAFF and vampires although I did read Syrie James’ one Vampyre story online and liked it. But if you are giving them away I will put my ballot in the box. After all what do I have to lose….a bite on the neck, a little blood….Ha! Ha! Ha!

      1. I read an unpublished one online – Vampyre. About a Vampyre prince looking for his Vampyre Princess to whom he was married in gypsy ceremony. She was buried in a cave after an avalanche and woke up years later. BUT there is a love triangle involved and is blood stronger than love/caring/sacrifice? Very interesting story.

  7. I have to admit it took me a long time to get into the vampire books. I still cant get through the steampunk concept. I read Mr Darcy, Vampire and it was, for me, amazingly fun. The spirit ( no pun inteneded) of the Darcy/Elizabeth relationship was there. I would like to read either Jane Austen Vows Vengeance or Jane and the Damned. What a fun October gieve-away!

  8. I have only read one vampire JAFF before so I think it is time for another (and I don’t care for zombies in any book). I would like to pick Mr. Darcy Vampyre by Amanda Grange

  9. I’m not very fond of vampires except for The Cullens of Twilight ( they’re good people, stylish and they only drink animal blood hahaha) but it would be great to read some kind of Halloween reading so I vote for “Mr Darcy vampire”. Thanks for the giveaway Meredith 🙂

  10. October is the time to read these stories…as I own 2 already..I would like to win Jane and the Damned to add to my collection..thanks for the chance..

  11. Thanks for being so generous with your clearout, Meredith. I haven’t yet read any of the “horror” versions of JAFF, but have just bought Mary Lydon Simonsen’s Mr. Darcy’s Bite, and it’s sequel, to read in the run up to Halloween. So a vampire version might be just the ticket, so to speak.

Please put my name in the hat for Mr. Darcy Vampyre. I have Amanda Grange’s Darcy’s Diary as an audiobook and enjoyed the style of her writing.

  12. I’m not interested in the giveaway–not my cup of tea. I have read P&P & Zombies. I could hardly get through it, but my kids got it for 10 cents and thought it was great because it had P&P in the title!!

  13. Great collection! No need to enter me for the giveaway not my cup of tea. I never read the zombie versions either. I was just curious. What did you think of the Jane mysteries by Stephanie Barron?

    1. I have read three of those mysteries and found them well written – plan to read them again. The one deals with a man Jane might have possibly been interested in.

  14. Mr Darcy Vampyre please. I love everything you do here. I envy you for having the time and means to do such a lovely job and persue something you love. Excellent job!

  15. Hi Meredith! I don’t mind a bit of paranormal in my Austenesque. I’ve read P&P&Z and actually it’s better than I thought it would be. It was quite a fun exercise in seeing how much of Austen’s original text could be interleaved with zombie happenings, though it’s pretty violent, which is not something I’m that keen on.

I would love to enter the giveaway for the Michael Thomas Ford book.

  16. I have the Amanda Grange (gift from my son 🙂 ) so either of the others would be delightful! Thank you so much for your kind offer!

  17. I loved Regina Jeffers’s Vampyre Darcy’s Desire. Please enter me for Amanda Grange’s Mr. Darcy Vampyre.

  18. That’s really generous of you! As you know I’m a huge Jane Austen fan (and that’s how I found your blog) but I’ve never read any with a vampire-twist. Any of the books would be a good choice since I haven’t read them. Thank you for the giveaway 🙂

  19. Wow Meredith, thanks for the very generous giveaway opportunity. I’m quite jealous of your collection, as I’m a huge fan of paranormal & mystery JAFF. I own or have read 13 of the books in your pics… how’s that for a Halloween themed number 🙂 I’d love to put my name in for any of the Syrie James, Michael Ford, Stephanie Barron, or Tracy Kiely books, as I’ve never read any of those. I’ve read all of the Carrie Bebris books except for the newest Deception at Lyme one, but I’ve been wanting to re-read the older ones again too, as her series are some of the first JAFF books I read, and that was several years ago before my D&E obsession truly started. So I’d be interested in any of the Bebris books too. Thanks so much for the giveaway chance!

    1. Hi Colleen. I’m so sorry for any confusion, there are only three books being offered in this giveaway – Jane and the Damned, Mr. Darcy’s Vampyre, and Jane Vows Vengeance. I’ll enter your name for the book by Michael Thomas Ford, let me know if you’d like to be entered for the other two as well. 🙂

  20. I would love to win either the Janet Mullany book or the Michael Thomas Ford book. I have the Amanda Grange one. I got mine from Paperbackswap, too! I think I’d like to read more paranormal J.A. books. I also read Y.A. paranormal, such as Vampire Academy. Okay, I like vampires. I recently started Dracula in London, a book of short stories. That’ll be one of my Halloween reads for this month. I like the pictures of your collections. I mostly read mysteries so I have a few books by Carrie Bebris and Stephanie Barron. I started a Tracy Kiely one but never got around to finishing it.

I don’t normally read zombie books but I did skim through one about Queen Victoria and zombies.
