from the author:
A single mother and an ER doctor meet on an Internet dating site—each for reasons that have little to do with finding their perfect match—in this modern, Austen-inspired story. It’s a tribute to the power of both “pride” and “prejudice” in bringing two people romantically together, despite their mutual insistence that they should stay apart…

Beth Ann Bennet isn’t looking for love. She’s an aspiring social worker using an online alias to study sex-role stereotypes.

Dr. William Darcy isn’t looking for love either. He’s just trying to fund his new clinic by winning a major bet.

Both think Lady Catherine’s Love Match Website will help them get what they want—fast, easy and without endangering their hearts. Both are in for a big surprise.

Pride, Prejudice and the Perfect Match…where true love is just a fib and a click away.

MY THOUGHTS:

  • WOOT! WOOT!  Another Austen-Inspired novel from Marilyn Brant!  I adored everything I read by her so far!  Austenesque or not.
  • Lady Catherine’s Love Match Website?  I love it!  What a great name for a matchmaking site!  I’m sure Lady Catherine is a “great proficient” at the skill of making matches, even though some of them are of a “peculiar kind…”
  • I love that both Beth and William are using the dating site for ulterior motives, what a fun twist that will be!
  • I’m very intrigued by Beth’s job and family situation.  I wonder what the backstory is there…  And I wonder what William’s bet is!
  • The cover is just so gorgeous! (Fun Fact: this cover and the cover for Holiday Man were designed by Rebecca Young, Austenesque Author Abigail Reynolds’s talented daughter!)

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

  1. Yay! I’m definitely looking forward to this one! I think my favorite thing is that they’re both on the website for other reasons. And it sounds like Beth has some interesting backstory.

  2. CANNOT wait for this book to come out!! I have a feeling it will be a book I won’t be able to put down! I just love the idea of Lady Catherine’s Love Match site! Congrats on the new book, Marilyn! 🙂

  3. Monica,
While Dr. Darcy may not have Holiday Man’s abs, LOL, I loved getting to write his character, and I can’t wait to get to share the story with you ;). [Next romance, though, I swear I’m gonna name the hero “Damon”…]

    Jakki,
For a hundred and one reasons, thank you for your enthusiasm for this book! You’ve been wonderful :-).

    1. Well, Dr D’s shirt is closed, so we’ll just have to imagine his abs, but I’m totally ok with that! 😉

Next you should delve into VD-inspired fiction! Haha of course, we’ll have to rename it something else that doesn’t sound like a disease. Damonesque Fiction?

    2. I’m all for a Damon-like hero!! Can’t wait to be introduced to the heroes in Holiday Man and Perfect Match. Marilyn creates some very swoon-worthy heroes, IMO!

    3. I agree, Meredith. Marilyn’s heroes are ones that stay in your mind for some time to come! And I don’t mind that one bit! 😉 So far, I have swooned over each one! Even though I don’t watch VD, I think Damon is a hot name! Perfect for a hero. 🙂
