That’s right! We are doing it up here again, Austenesque style!
If you were around the Austen blog world last August, you may have caught a little of Austenesque Extravaganza last year. It was the VERY FIRST blog event I hosted here on Austenesque Reviews and it was a month-long celebration of Austenesque Authors and THEIR Novels. The event featured huge bunch of fantastic authors participating, daily activities that enabled readers to connect with others in the Austenesque community, and the AMAZING Austenesque Giveaway!
Since I loved connecting with all the wonderful readers and authors in this community so much last year, I’ve decided to host the month-long event again this year…but with some small changes:
1. It’s In September! We figured with August being still part of summer vacation and filled with travel, summer camps, etc. September would be a much more convenient month for both the authors and our readers.
2. I Have A Team! Last year, I truly became aware of how MUCH work is involved with pulling off this month-long blog event. And I wasn’t too keen on doing it all alone again so I invited two dear friends I met through the Austenesque community to come aboard and join me on Team Austenesque! And I believe, some of you, can “claim an acquaintance with” these fantastic, creative, and generous ladies: Angie Kroll and Jakki Leatherberry of Leatherbound Reviews!
Here’s a small taste of what you can look forward to this year…
- Fun and Games Friday: Four Fridays, four unique Austenesque games to look forward to!
- During Wednesday Word Games: Back by popular demand, Angie’s awesome MAD LIBS!
- Sociable Sunday: Chatting live with some of our favorite authors, but this time it WON’T be on Twitter! (Check out the new chatboard in the top menu! It’s so easy to use!)
- Close to 50 fabulous and talented authors participating this year (many for the first time!)
- And of course, this year will see the return of the famous AMAZING AUSTENESQUE GIVEAWAY! (But you won’t get the details about this ’til later!)

Hooray! So glad you’re doing this again. Last year’s Extravaganza opened up a whole world of Jane Austen that I never knew existed. I found so many new blogs and boards that I still visit. Plus, who doesn’t love giveaways! I’m glad to hear you’ll have some extra hands on deck to help out this year. Thank you for all of your hard work!

I loved last year. I am so glad that you have a team this year. It seemed like an intense amount of work. Exciting and fun no doubt but still a lot of work. I am very excited that you are doing this again this year. There were so many great events last year. It really was a boost. I got a great book and I know many others were also happy to receive such a special gift and that’s on top of enjoying the many author encounters etc. Thanks Meredith for putting it together. I’m looking forward to it.
