from goodreads.com:
In this Regency adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved Pride and Prejudice, the simple truth is proven that sometimes a gentleman never knows his heart until a lady comes along to introduce it to him. When Mr. Darcy encounters Elizabeth Bennet injured after a fall, his concern for her welfare cracks the shell of his carefully guarded heart and a charming man emerges. Elizabeth sees an appealing side of him she never believed possible from the stoic, proud master of Pemberley. They find the simple gentlemanly act of assisting her home will best both Mr. Darcy’s resolve to keep his heart safe and Elizabeth’s conviction that this is the last man on earth she might have ever been prevailed upon to marry. Soon, falling for Mr. Darcy becomes a real possibility.
MY THOUGHTS:
- Is Lizzy a damsel in distress?
- Love the idea of Darcy as a hero!
- Wonder how an injured Elizabeth effects the plot of the story…
- Does Darcy have any competition? i.e. Wickham or Collins?
- I LOVE anything Meryton Press publishes!

Yes. Yes, I want to read this! Sounds like it takes place after his disastrous proposal. I love Elizabeth, the damsel in distress and Darcy the hero.
It’s not every day that we see Elizabeth as a damsel in distress, is it?
My thoughts: Its awesome. But then again, I did write it. 🙂 I hope you enjoy reading it.
Thank you for stopping by, KaraLynne! I love the idea for your story!
I really want to read this! It sounds so good! And I’m like you, Meredith, I have yet to read something from Meryton Press I did not enjoy! Hopefully, I will be able to read it sooner than later!
Isn’t Meryton Press just wonderful!?! I need to get my hands on this one!
“The simple truth is proven that sometimes a gentleman never knows his heart until a lady comes along to introduce it to him.”
I LOVE that!!! I’d like to think that the injured damsel Elizabeth will be introducing the hero Mr. Darcy to his heart in this novel…. sounds like a great story! Looking foward to reading it myself 🙂
Perhaps Mr. Darcy won’t fight his heart so much this time!
This does sound like a great story, and I love the cover, too.
Me too! Just realized that by the tree it looks like autumn. Maybe Lizzy has her fall during Darcy’s stay at Netherfield… Oh no! This means she wouldn’t be able to dance with Mr. Collins at the Netherfield Ball!
I’m all for a different ‘what if’ that spends time with Darcy and Lizzy! Thanks for the posting! I plan to read this one.
Oh, you are welcome, Sophia Rose! Thanks for stopping by!
I agree with all the comments above. So well said. Definitely something to look forward to. Thanks for digging it up and mentioning it for us.
My pleasure, Suzan! I love sharing my finds!
This sounds so good! I liked ‘cracks the shell of his carefully guarded heart and a charming man emerges’. Of course, I find Mr. Darcy charming even during his disastrous proposal. He thinks he is giving all the reasons that make his proposal more valuable because of his struggles but we all know Lizzy’s reaction to that!
Every book that I have read from Meryton Press has been good. I look forward to reading this one and like Jakki, I hope sooner than later. I love the idea of Lizzy as a damsel in distress and Darcy the rescuer…Awww…!
Hi Janet! It sounds like a very unique and intriguing premise, doesn’t it? I hope you find an opportunity to read it soon, too!
Meredith, I gave in and purchased it yesterday. I started reading last night which is never a good thing for me. Stayed up later than I should have but made myself quit and go to bed. ( I told myself that I would only read for an hour…Ha!) I have enjoyed it so far and am anxious to get back to reading! Why are there always other things that must be done instead of reading?!!
LOL! I just love when a book consumes you so much you think and dwell on it when you stop reading! This one must be really good if it has you so absorbed! Can’t wait to read it myself!
