BRAVO to you Meredith, on your amazing August Austenesque accomplishment!, and also to your lovely site and your thoughtful reviews of Austen related books. Your energy, creativity, charm and writing abilities astound!
You know, when I finally discovered Jane Austen’s little world (too late in life!) in 1995, I soon craved for more fiction like hers. I wondered why she had been kept secret from me (and much of the world) for so long, and I wondered why there wasn’t much more like what she gave the world. I think it wasn’t long before many of us were excessively hungry for more of the kind of stories and characters that Jane Austen created. Can we safely say that a new genre of Austen related fiction (Austenesque shall we say?), has long since been born and is living well amongst Janeite kindred spirits like each and all of us who’ve come here repeatedly this month? It’s been grand to see all the Austenesque excitement emanating from this darling spot in the universe! Keep up the ‘up with Jane Austen’ work and reading, and everything Austen, everyone!
Many thanks to you for your graciousness, Meredith,
With warmest Regards,
Kerri Bennett Williamson
