Spotlight Saturday – Joan Ellen Delman

Do you dream of devotion like Darcy’s? Does Henry Tilney’s wit make you go weak in the knees? Or do you prefer the unassuming goodness of Bingley, Bertram or Ferrars? Take my quiz below and find out…

Which Austen Man is YOUR Dream Lover?

A cautionary note: You may end up with Colonel Brandon though you are sure you belong with Mr. Darcy. You may end up with Edmund Bertram though you think him a tiresome wretch. You may feel some of my choices make no sense. I may agree with you next week. This quiz is for entertainment purposes only. So run mad as often as you chuse—and for whomever you chuse—but do not take this quiz seriously! (*Pen and paper is needed!*)

P.S. If you end up with Mr. Collins… you have no one to blame but yourself.

  1. All I can say is thank goodness I didn’t get Mr. Collins! There’s a Bingley streak going around this morning. Fine by me – I’ll take him!

Thanks for the fun this morning,Joan!

    Best,
    Susan

  2. Wow! I got Darcy! Never saw that one coming! Runner up was Bertram though.
Thank you so much, Joan! This was the most fun part of my morning yet! 🙂

  3. I wanted Mr Darcy but got Mr Tilney, who I really don’t know as much about. As many have said before me, at least it wasn’t Mr Collins! Had I gotten him, I’d have demanded a refund! Oh, wait, this was free matchmaking, wasn’t it? Lol no matter, I escaped that fate. Other than my 3 “I” (Tilney) answers, every one of my answers was different.

    This was fun, thanks!

  4. Dude…I don’t have any man. I’m evenly split between Collins, Bingley, Ferrars, and Brandon…and add in one for Bertram. Man, I was hoping for Tilney!

  5. I love this! Thanks. I had a triple-answer: Ferrars, Tilney and Collins. What does this mean?
Someone who is sweet, shy, witty, stands up against his family for me, religious and moral?

  6. Thank you all for taking my quiz – I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I dare not take it myself, since Thelma Ritter is my role model. 😉

  7. I got a Bingley and a Crawford. Now how in the world do you combine those two? I must have a split personality. The concept is interesting however. I loved this.
    Suzan

  8. Bingley seems to be a popular guy. I’m also a Bingley lady, but I got a good dose of Ferrars, and a happy sprinkling of the rest of the good guys, save Darcy, so life won’t be entirely boring I think.
