Austenesque Jolabokaflod 2023 Wrap-Up!!!

Hi readers! Happy Christmas! I hope you all are enjoying a very happy and special holiday season! 🎄

I just wanted to share a little wrap-up post of our FOURTH celebration of Austenesque Jolabokaflod! 📚

*If you haven’t heard of Jolabokaflod, it is an Icelandic Christmas Eve tradition of exchanging books and reading! 🎁

This was our fourth time celebrating this holiday and I got to celebrate with 4️⃣0️⃣ Austenesque friends who live in 1️⃣1️⃣ different countries!

Here is my little Austenesque Jolabokaflod set up – this is my first time pairing my chocolate with some wine and I must say it is a wonderful addition!
I’m really happy my AJ sender (Patty) picked this book for my gift – it was one I had on my wishlist forever!
I’m curious, have you read Rumours and Recklessness? I see it is very highly rated on Amazon.

This moment right here. Perfection. It is one I look forward to every holiday season. I really love this tradition. 📖🍫🐾🎄
And what makes the moment even more perfect is seeing friends all over the world enjoying the same joys. I loved seeing the books, the smiles, and the ways you celebrated Jolabokaflod! 😍

A fun thing that happened this year is that some recipients received the same book. I think there are at least 4️⃣ pairs of readers who got the same book as someone else! 📕📕
Thank you so much, dear friends, for taking part in Austenesque Jolabokaflod! 🥰 Sharing the experience together makes it even more dear to me. ❣️
Just in case you were wondering, Austenesque Jolabokaflod is definitely happening again next year! It has become one of my favorite traditions to observe. 🎄
Did you celebrate Austenesque Jolabokaflod this year?
Was it your first year? Or have you celebrated more than one?

  1. Thank you for hosting Austenesque Jolabokaflod again this year, Meredith! And thank you to Carole Steinhardt for my book. I can’t seem to find any other way to contact her, so I hope this message finds her:) Have a wonderful holiday season everyone!

  2. Thank you Rita for “jolaboking” me “The secret life of Miss Mary Bennet”, it was one of my favs choices!
And thanks Meredith for hosting again this beautiful and fun tradition 🙂
Jolabokaflod has become one of my favourite traditions too since the first time you brought it to us so I’m very glad there will be another edition 😉

  3. Glad to see so many enjoying this tradition. I don’t participate as I don’t want to add any more paperback books to my collection. At my age I am trying to get rid of things. I usually only borrow through KU. Happy New Year to all. I have over 100 JAFF paperback books I am seeking a home for but will not pay to ship them out. They need a local home.

  4. Look at all those happy faces, those cute jammies, the lovely wine, the hot tea/cocoa. Loads of fun. What a fun event. Happy reading Y’all!

  5. Yes, Meredith. I have read Rumors & Recklessness. I have the audio and have listened every year since it first came out. A fave reread, and relisten. I’ll read anything Nicole Clarkston/ Alix James writes.

  6. Thank you Meredith for another wonderful event! I so enjoy exchanging books with other participants. Thank you Teresa for my book! I’m looking forward to reading it soon! Happy New Year All!

    1. Hi, Carole,
I´m very glad you like the book I chose for you. I read it time ago and I enjoyed it a lot.
Happy New Year and Happy readings!
