Austenesque Agenda – May 2023

Hi friends! Happy May! May the Firth (or Fourth) be with you! However you wish to celebrate!

How was your April? Mine was great, but I got way off track with some of my reading.

And here are the reasons why:

I went on 2 trips – St. Louis, Missouri and a small weekend trip to Raleigh, NC. 🧳

I picked strawberries! 🍓

Enjoyed lots of outdoor yoga – since the season for it just began. 🧘🏻‍♀️

And went on lots of long rambling walks with Fezzik. 🐾

But I’m hoping I to play a little catch up with blogging this month.
So we will see what happens! 🤞🏼

  1. Wow! A busy month indeed! Mine wasn’t so great as my Mum was in hospital with pneumonia! Luckily she had been given the vaccine so it wasn’t too bad, she needed antibiotics and a few days on oxygen. She’s back in her home now thank goodness and slowly recovering. I’m currently rereading books on my kindle starting from the back so I can delete books I no longer enjoy so much.
I’m looking forward to your May posts and reviews.

  2. It sounds like you had some fantastic trips! I might be a little envious. Haha. Have a wonderful May, Meredith.

  3. Hi. April was OK-ish. Bad cold brought to us by relatives who travelled to see us by plane, planes being seething cauldrons of recirculated germs. But we got to see our son, his girlfriend and 18-month-old granddaughter who’s very sweet and now walking and talking a bit.

I’ve been learning to play bridge since last year and have finally admitted that it’s not very compatible with writing so I’ll have to ditch it for a time while I get on with self-publishing my latest finished novel, ‘Intrigue At Longbourn’, a P&P prequel. Mixed feelings about that. I was hoping to get a publisher. It’s been frustrating having to hold back on self-publishing, although on the plus side it’s meant that I’ve been able to tweak ‘Intrigue At Longbourn’ to fit in with certain things which will be in the P&P sequel I’m currently about two-thirds of the way through, ‘Menace At Pemberley’.

Fingers crossed for lots of success with ‘Intrigue At Longbourn’ in May and thereafter.

Pity about the bridge, but there we are. It’s fiendishly difficult and I’m determined not to give up for good!

  4. Hi Meredith!
It’s so fun “May the firth be with you”! LOL, I’ve never heard about it and it’s a brilliant joke 😉
Can I choose both (firth and fourth)? LOL
Well, I see you had fun in April and…the strawberries look so delicious!
Your agenda is promising, as always, and I see “The late Mrs Willoughby ” by Claudia Gray, I didn’t know there was a sequel!
At the moment, I’m reading “Lakeshire Park” by Megan Walker: I remember you enjoyed it a lot and it’s really entertaining. And reading this novel in Springtime is a pleasure!
Have a sweet May, amiga mía!

  5. I hope you’re able to catch up in May meredith, because something tells me you won’t have much time to read in June 😉
I also have to say I am a bit envious of your trips! St Louis is on my bucket list because of the arch and… you’ll have to find me a farm to pick up some fruit in October 🙂 I would love to do that 🙂

  6. Your Star Wars day image/greeting is *perfection*! 😀
Bookwise I cannot wait for The Late Mrs Willoughby, and as for the rest of May: soaking up that late spring gloriousness and watching the garden grow <3

  7. Glad to hear you had such a great month. Lovely photos, as usual. I have read two of the books you have on your agenda. My husband was admitted to the ICU on April 23rd (abd remains there) with complications from a recently diagnosed condition of Myasthenia gravis. Neurologist says he has one of the worse cases…trouble breathing, swallowing, weak, being given several treatments and intravenous nutrition. Prayers, if you are a praying person, please. His name is Frank.

  8. Great lineup for May. And I’m behind already. I’m really looking forward to the reviews because I’m eager to read what your opinion is on the ones I’ve already liked…and the ones that have been on my radar. Wonderful guest list this month.

Your conversation and participation are always welcome; please feel free to "have your share."
