Austenesque Agenda – March 2022

Happy March, friends! Can you believe it is already here – that means Spring is just a few short weeks away! 🌷 I can’t wait!

One of the highlights of my February was taking a weekend trip to Asheville, NC with a close friend. 🛣

It was cold, but we had lots of fun hiking, eating, and beer tasting! 🍻

And one cool spot she found was this used bookstore/champagne and wine bar! 🤗

I’m so glad we went! It was such a fun vibe!
We nibbled on a yummy hummus board, browsed the shelves, and enjoyed some live music while sipping our wine. 🍷
It would be a rare occurrence to find an Austenesque book in such a store, but guess what? I did! 😯
A first edition signed copy of First Impressions by Charlie Lovett for $80! But alas, I already own a copy (minus the author’s signature). I feel proud of myself for tracking down what might be the only Austenesque book in the store! 🙌🏼

What did you do in February?

Want to know what Austenesque fun I’m getting into this month?

Austenesque Agenda:

I’ve been slowly rereading (or technically first time reading) this annotated edition of Pride and Prejudice for two months and I’m finally done!

  1. That trip with your friend looks like it was really enjoyable. Kudos to you on your JAFF-radar! I love the look of your line up this month, I’ll look forward to checking out your reviews.

  2. Meredith, you go on these fun trips and show great food and beer pics, yet you’re so slim! Love your pics for the month, and by the cover, I’m especially enticed by Catherine Cowley and her spy novel. I like that you bring “new to me” authors in. Thanks so much!

  3. You found my idea of heaven, books with food and drinks! I’m also impressed with the waterfall you found. How you find time to read is beyond me but I do look forward to your posts so thank you.
I’m not sure what I’m doing this month, I’m hoping I’ll be able to get out and about at some point.

  4. I love this concept of bookstore: books and something to eat and drink WOW and sharing this experience with a close friend makes it more fun 🙂
Your March agenda is terrific good! You will have the author of “Harriet ” as well as Heather Moll and books of Elizabeth Adams and Allie Cresswell bravo!
By the way, I forgot to tell “thank you” for adding the austenesque releases in another lenguages, that’s very nice of you! I think you started in January didn’t you?
    Enjoy a sweet March!

    1. Me too! I’m so glad I could share this experience with her and tell you all about it!

It is a good variety this month, isn’t it? I’m happy to finally get to some books on my TBR pile!

Yes! I did! I wish I thought of it sooner! I’m sure it is harder for readers to find these books.

  5. Lovely photos…as usual. Great finding the only JAFF there! We continue to limit our outings with COVID still around. We did go to a few of our grandchildren’s games, although my husband goes to the early ones alone as it is too early for me to leave here at 7:30 am for an 8:30 game. Tessa celebrated her 9th birthday, so we did go to that also. Still attending Church and Bible Study on ZOOM. Weather here has been very cold most days, but my husband did golf on the two days when it went above 50 degrees.

    1. Thank you, Sheila! I’m happy to hear the outings you have enjoyed lately. I hope things continue to get better so you might be able to enjoy some more!

  6. Fun times with your friend and way to go picking out an Austenesque treasure from the shelves. Looks like a good line up of books and authors this month.

    Have a good March!

  7. Woo hoo! What a cool place you and your friend found, that’s my kind (and I’m sure many many others’) of place. Books and food. Sign me up….then just leave me there for 8hrs., or so. 😀 I love living vicariously through your adventures.

My goodness, what a great agenda this month. Great combo of books, some I’ve read and eager for your take on them, and some new to me, but on my radar and eager to hear how you like them. And guest posts?!?! Yippee. March is looking great. Thanks so much Meredith.

Our weather here has been a little bizarre, but I think it’s been that way for everyone. The warmer weather is nicer to get out in, and we have had a lot going on so it was nicer to to endure that way. On the other hand, we’re experiencing a drought and actually needed the snow we normally would’ve gotten. If we get a lot of rain in the near future that wouldn’t be much benefit and could harm because the ground is still frozen and not able to take up the moisture, meaning we could see floods. Another thing that is typical here in the Midwest is that we will get a ‘false Spring’ in February and have a brutal blizzard in March that wrecks havoc. I’m waiting for that other shoe to drop. Ugh. In the meantime, it’s sweater weather again. I sound like a farmer. Well, it is farm country here. 🙂

    1. Hi Michelle! I’m so happy everyone is enjoying this place – I should tell you all the name in case you ever come to Asheville – it is Battery Park Book Exchange.

I’m excited for the variety this month too! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the posts and reviews I share!

Oh man, that is some bizarre weather! Ugh! Having a false Spring is the worse. Especially when it is followed by a brutal blizzard!

  8. Thanks for another great list! Zero reading time this month with grading, teaching, and posting my current WIP over at D&L. But March is a longer month, so there is hope! Hope things are going well and thanks as always for another wonderful reading list. Looking forward to your reviews.

    1. Oh no! So sorry to hear about the lack of reading time! I echo your hopes for March too! Because January and February were so busy, I read a good deal less than I normally do.
