Cover Reveal + Giveaway of Son of An Earl!!!

Hi dear friends! I’m so excited to welcome back the lovely Bronwen Chisholm to Austenesque Reviews today.

As you might recall, Bronwen was here just a short while ago to introduce her new series – Defying Propriety, and celebrate the release of Book One – As a Proper Lady Would. And today she is stopping by to share the cover of Book Two – Son of An Earl! Woot woot!

Please help me extend a warm welcome to Bronwen! 🤗

~ From the Author ~

Hi Everyone! As always, I am tickled to be back visiting you at Austenesque Reviews, even more so as this is my first cover reveal in a guest blog. You might remember my last visit was to promote the first book in my Defying Propriety Series, As a Proper Lady Would. Well, the second book, Son of an Earl, will release before Christmas. To refresh you memories, here are blurbs for the series and the second book.

We are formed by experiences of our childhood. Family and friends influence our character. Decisions, wise and foolish, direct our path. Through chance encounters and early introductions, our beloved Pride and Prejudice characters come together on a slightly different path which may, to some, defy propriety.

All the books in this series are sweet, clean romances.

~ Son of an Earl ~

Ashton Fitzwilliam, Viscount Grayson and cousin to Fitzwilliam Darcy, has always known what was expected of him. As the eldest son of an earl, he must marry a lady from the first circles of society, preferably one whose father will be a new ally to the current earl. He never anticipated meeting an intriguing American lady with a secret or two she is determined to keep hidden from the disapproving haut ton.

The cover was done by the same photographer who did Mrs. Collins’ Lover, Missing Jane, and As a Proper Lady Would. We took three roses (pink, lavender, and reddish-orange) to the gardens at a local manor house completed in 1771. I talked about the shoot in my November blog at Austen Authors.

And without further ado….here is the big reveal!!!

(expected release date – December 22nd)

So lovely, Bronwen! And I love that you created this scene at a local historic site! ⛲️

Excellent choice with the reddish-orange rose. 🌹

I’m excited to see a spotlight on Mr. Darcy’s other cousin – Viscount Grayson. I’m curious to see his relationships with Mr. Darcy and his brother, Colonel Fitzwilliam. 🎩

I love that there is an American character in this book – and I love the promise of her bringing some intrigue and hiding some secrets. 🇺🇸

What do you think, friends? 🤔

  1. Hello everyone, especially Bronwen
I am so glad that time is moving quicker than when we were young, so it will not be soooo long until December 22nd 🙂
    Stay safe and be happy

    1. Hello Doris! Time is definitely flying by (unless I look at the Austenesque Jolabokaflod package sitting on by bookshelf) and December 22nd will be here before we know it. I hope you enjoy Ashton’s story.
      Take care!

  2. Congratulatiosns on the release of the second book in the series! I’m so excited, can’t wait to read it! It’s great to have a release day 🙂

  3. I had only been a few since I discovered the Austen variation, and I love how the authors offer such a wide range of stories, and characters I do not even remember from my twenty something years old reads.

  4. I am always glad to read a new book by Bronwen and was so busy I missed the first in this series. Looking forward to catching up. Congrats on publication.

  5. I’ve enjoyed your previous stories. Beautiful cover on this one.

Will this be available on KU? One can hope!

  6. Congratulations on your new book. Lovely cover and curious why you chose this rose and why a rose. Looking forward to all the revelations during this blog tour and reading the story 🙂

    1. Thank you. As usual, the cover comes from a scene in the book. When I first wrote it, it was a pink rose. In rewrites, it became a yellow rose. I love lavender roses. When I went to the florist to get the roses for the photo shoot, I fell in love with the reddish orange one, so I made one more edit to fix that. 😉 lol

  7. Oh, I love that cover. Look at the colors. That pinkish/red again that glove. Oh, it gave me chills. Congratulations on the launch and success of this new book. The 22nd isn’t that far away… is it? Holding my breath. LOL!! Blessings and Happy Holidays to all in the manner in which you celebrate.

    1. Thank you, I am so pleased you like. This is the first book cover that I “appear” on. It is my hand. lol
I am sure it will be here before we know it (but take a breath, please).
      Have a blessed holiday!

  8. What a gorgeous cover! I’m ordering As A Proper Lady Would today so i will be ready when Son of An Earl is released. I missed the blog of your first book.

  9. Lovely cover. I have read and enjoyed several of Bronwen’s stories. Thanks for a chance to win a copy of this one.

  10. What a gorgeous cover. I’m so excited to learn something of the Matlock side of the family! And fingers crossed for winning the giveaway. Would be a great Christmas present!

  11. I really love that cover! That rose has passion but also seems to have intrigue; I think it’s symbolic of the American lady, just like the black glove the lady is wearing on the cover. Congratulations on the upcoming release as well!

    1. Thank you! I took a risk with the orange rose since the Victorians believed it meant hatred or anger, but it looked perfect and relates to another flower mentioned in the same scene. I see it more as fire or spirit.

  12. Well, who is holding the rose? I love the color of the rose and the fuzzy background. Kudos on the next book in the series and thank you for the giveaway.

  13. What a beautiful cover! It will be very fun to read about the Viscount. I don’t think I have ever read a book where he was the main character before. I look forward to reading this.

    1. Thank you! I take no credit – my photographer is one of the most creative people I know. She has done fabulous shoots with my daughter – dressed her in a ball gown, sent her into a lake and told her to splash water around and then created “water fairy wings” out of the splashes. Just amazing!
