Austenesque Agenda – December 2021

Greetings, Austenesque friends! It is crazy that we are now in the last month of the year! 🤯

I don’t think I had that much going on this past month, and yet it went super fast!

For part of the month I was dog-sitting…blog work is so much more fun when your lap is covered! 🐶

Rita of From Pemberley to Milton asked me to join her on the blogger panel for the JAFF Writer/Reader Get Together this year. 😊

We created some surveys to learn more about how readers, authors, and bloggers feel about JAFF blogs. 📊

You can check out more of what we learned in Rita’s lovely summary post. 💻
And other than working, reading, and blogging I spent some time looking for the last bit of Autumn colors. 🍁

I found them. 🙌🏼

How about you? Was your November busy? fast? Or both?

Want to know what Austenesque fun I’m getting into this month?

…here is what’s on this month’s

Austenesque Agenda:

~ TO READ AND REVIEW ~

~ READERS’ CHOICE ~

It has been a tradition of mine (going on 9 years!) to read an annotated edition of a Jane Austen novel during my holiday break. This year I can’t decide which one to choose, so I thought I’d leave it up to you all. Just tell me in the comments which one you’d like to see me read and review this year.

~ FEATURED AUTHORS VISITING THIS MONTH ~

Bronwen Chisholm – December 3rd

Anngela Schroeder – December 6th

Cherith Boardman – December 10th

Ridgway Kennedy – December 15th

Carole Penfield – December 20th

Lots of new authors visiting this month – I’m so excited!
What are you looking forward to this month?

  1. Thanks for sharing here. Photos are lovely, as usual. We still have some trees in our area which have not yet lost their leaves.

  2. I have read the annotated p&p and found it to be excellent. I will be reading the annotated Emma with the British Lit class I am teaching. Either is a great choice but P&P isy favorite Austen book.

    1. I know both are going to be terrific. So far, I’ve read 3 of David M. Shapard’s annotated editions, looking forward to reading them all.

Thanks so much for voting! Emma – 2 / Pride and Prejudice – 2

  3. I propose that you read the annotated Emma, my favorite. And thanks for posting my book cover for the December 20th author visit. Only 4 days after Jane Austen’s birthday, when the release happens on Amazon. I am so excited!

  4. Everything is better with a house full of dogs. I have larger dogs, I struggle to find my children in my old home and I’m scared of losing a small animal . I am enjoying baking Christmas cookies while listening to “Tis the Season”

  5. Your pics of Autumn are so beautiful! The colors are splendid!
    I vote for Emma.
Your agenda is really promising! The book of Anngela Schroeder is the sequel of the Christmas novella you read last year? I also read it and I found it so sweet and tender! And the cover of this new novella is as charming as the previous one 😉
And what a good thing there’s another book from Christina Dudley with the Hapgoods!
I have asked “Santa” for “Tis the Season” so I’m looking forward to your opinion!
    Happy December 🙂

    1. Thank you, Teresa! I’m a big fan of autumn scenery if haven’t already noticed.

I know! I’m so excited about seeing the Gardiner sisters again! And I completely agree with you about the covers!

And that is wonderful that you are interested in the Hapgoods!!

Thanks so much for voting! Emma – 4 / Pride and Prejudice – 2

  6. My vote will always be P&P!
Gorgeous photos as always, I think the storm we had the other week just about stripped all the trees (and uprooted many of them)
I’m having an operation just before Christmas so I’m not doing much either this month or next – except reading so I’m looking forward to your posts. I’ve read some of these but will enjoy your thoughts.
    Enjoy!

    1. Oh no! That sounds like a serious storm. I hope you fared well through it.

I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts, Glynis. Reading is such a source of happiness, I hope it brings you comfort and peace.

Thanks so much for voting! Emma – 4 / Pride and Prejudice – 3

  7. Fun that you enjoyed dog sitting and going on leaf walks. I’m reading ‘Tis the Season currently. Look forward to being introduced to a few of your author guests this month.

  8. Oh my goodness, those autumn colours!! Gorgeous photos! Looking forward to this months’s posts, and for the Readers’ Choice I’m voting for P&P (as always :D)

Thanks so much for all your wonderful posts, dear Meredith, and here’s to a great 2022!! xx
