Austenesque Agenda – August 2021

Hi friends! How is your August going so far? Did you enjoy anything fun in July? 🏖
My July was full of the usual (and maybe extra amount 😫) of work, blogging, and enjoying time outside. 🌳
But the highlight of my month was taking a trip to see this gorgeous sunflower field! 🌻

It is the biggest sunflower field I’ve visited so far – 5 acres! 🤯

And I think I caught it at peak bloom! 🙌🏼

And it is a lovely event this park does every year – for the community, for the bees – they even recycle the sunflowers when it is over and create biodiesel fuel! ♻️

Well done, Raleigh, NC! This is amazing and brought joy to so many people…and bees! 🐝

If I could I would send each of you a bouquet of these sunflowers! 🌻
What fun did you have in July?

  1. Yes, the photos are gorgeous. I have only read three of the books you plan on reading or whose authors you are interviewing: Dear Nameless Stranger, Rosings Park and A Covenant of Marriage. I look forward to reading your reviews.

  2. What gorgeous sunflowers! Fab photos Meredith!
I was able to visit my Mum as it was nice enough to sit outside. My cousin and his wife, from County Durham, were in the area so also visited my Mum as well as my brother, his wife and I, so that was lovely.
You have some great guests and books this month plus I’m looking forward to seeing which Georgette Heyer book you choose?
Can’t wait to read your thoughts.

    1. Thank you, sweet friend!

I’m so happy to hear you got to spend some time with your family! That is lovely!

You are so sweet – I am looking forward to sharing these reviews with you!

  3. What gorgeous sunflowers! I can’t believe you are featuring two of my favorite JAFF writers this month who have not published a new book in quite some time: Mary Sherwood and Susan Adriani. I read Mary’s new book and loved it just as much as the 2 (in the series) before it, and am eagerly awaiting Susan’s new book. Look forward to your reviews of the others as well as other other author interviews. Congrats to everyone on publication.

    1. I love the sunflowers…I’m from the Sunflower State. Looking forward to your August reviews! My favorite Georgette Heyer is Arabella, but I also love Frederica.

  4. Love the sunflowers. Looks like you’ve got some fun reading lined up to finish off the end of the summer. Happy reading.

  5. That does seem like a delightful august! Looking forward to reading those posts. I just spend an evening at a sunflower farm last night for an art evening, sunflowers are so lovely!

  6. Hi Meredith! What a wonderful sunflower field! And I like the idea of recycling!
I started holidays some days ago and it’s so good to have free time to be outdoors and enjoy some delightful readings 😉 I’m about to begin “Being Mrs Darcy” by Lucy Marin and I know it will be exciting!
Your August agenda is full of promising books and interviews and I’m looking forward to your opinion of “A learned romance” as well as your traditional Georgette Heyer novel 😉
    Happy August, amiga mía!

  7. Beautiful pictures as always Meredith. Thanks for sharing… and you dog is so cute. Looks like a full calendar of events for August. I look forward to your discussions and the authors’ take on their stories. Blessings, stay safe, and healthy.

  8. Just seeing your sunflower field and the bee made me smile. Neat that the park does that.
Wow, great line up of guests and books this month. You have some fun Heyers to decide from, too.

    Have a great August, Meredith!

  9. Beautiful flowers. There are two farms near me which have sunflowers.

We took a 3100 mile road trip and drove through nine states. Saw my parents for the first time in two years.

  10. Those are really lovely sunflowers! I haven’t done much except for starting working out and eating better…oh, and reading Pride and Prejudice with a book club. I cannot wait for the reviews, new books, and your other adventures!

  11. What a great line-up for August, I’m really looking forward to your reviews and your guests!

Oh my goodness, those sunflowers. Such a beautiful sight. You’re looking pretty cute there with your curly-haired friend. <3

I always look forward to August for AR and your review of a Georgette Heyer book, aaaaannnddd…your birthday month!! I'm not going to suggest one this time around. You may just have to pull one out of a hat. 😀 Have a great August.
