Austenesque Agenda – June 2021

Hi friends! I hope you are enjoying a lovely June so far. It has been a raining beginning in my neck of the woods. 🌧

How was your May? Mine was very full!

It was recital month, and my studio had 9️⃣ recitals in one weekend – some outdoor, some virtual. 🎶

I got to care for and feed my brother’s sweet cats a couple days. 🐈

And Fezzik and I went on many adventures and hikes. 🥾

I haven’t tallied it yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we did more than 20+ miles of hiking this month. 🌳

He is an adventure pup – loves to rock crawl and jump….but also loves to be carried. 😆

The highlight of my hikes this month, was visiting Hanging Rock State Park. Gorgeous views. ⛰

Feeling like Liz on Top of the World a bit… 🏞

How was your month?

  1. Dog sitter! Cat sitter! Your job! Walks with Fezzik! What’s next? Plus reading all these books and interviewing authors? I’m worn out just thinking of it!
I’m really looking forward to your reviews and thoughts as well as those of your featured authors.
Good luck with it all and thank you for sharing your lovely photos!

    1. Lol! I really love the pet-sitting…wouldn’t mind if I could do that full-time.

Thanks so much for all your visits, my friend! I love hearing from you!

  2. Gorgeous photos, as always. You have certainly been very busy. I have read at least five of the stories you listed. Thanks for sharing. I am now able to walk at the grocery store (without a mask) so that is something I now enjoy again as I see and talk to people I know. During the quarantine we shopped online, put in our order and my husband just picked it up.

    1. I love grocery delivery, especially when I don’t have the energy to go to the store. Plus I take the bus or a cab or Uber. I started getting delivery before the virus. I haven’t been to a grocery store since July and that was just a smaller local one. I last went to Walmart and Kroger in May of last year. I also order things from Walmart and Target that get delivered by FedEx.

    2. Thank you, Sheila! I’m hoping life will be a little less busy in the next couple of weeks – but we will see. I’m glad to hear you are enjoying returning to some activities and continuing to walk!

  3. Nine piano recitals in one weekend? You must have been worn to a frazzle. I can’t imagine dealing with all of those nervous students and anxious parents for a whole weekend. You are a brave soul, Meredith. \

The pictures of your travels each month are a highlight. Since we can’t come visit, it is wonderful to see your corner of the planet. Gorgeous!

I, too, am looking forward to your reviews. Happy June!

    1. Lol! Sometimes I feel that way, but luckily a good book or walk seems to refresh me.

I’m falling in love with this state the more I explore it!

Hope you are doing well, my friend!

  4. Wow what a lovely JAFF month ahead. 9 recitals blows me away. I was finally able to have a live recital at one of the area HS cafeterias where the tables were distanced for families and we had a small elevated stage with sound and everything. The room had great acoustics and everyone showed up. Heck just finding a date was challenge enough. I hope you have a great month and enjoy! Cute doggie! ♫

  5. WOW, how many people at the recital! It was a sunny and musical day!
Fezzik is such a cute explorer! And the landscape is so beautiful and amazing 🙂
You have a big reading list and so we’ll have a big list too LOL. I love the covers, in special “Dusk’s darkest shores”: it has such intense colours!
I look forward to your opinion of “Nine Ladies” and I’m really curious about Joana Starnes’ new book!
    Have a fun weekend 😉

    1. We were so lucky it was a sunny day, Teresa! I’m really glad that weather wasn’t a concern!

LOL! I was a bit ambitious last month…so ambitious with the reading that I am super slow with the blog comments!

I think you will love Nine Ladies, Teresa!

  6. You have been busy and as always, you are willing to share such fabulous photos. As a fulltime caregiver, I can’t travel so I do so vicariously through your photos. LOL! I love them. You have a unique view and they are always so beautiful. Blessings on the new month. I look forward to reading your reviews.

    1. I’m so glad to hear you enjoy the photos! I am happy to share and have any live vicariously through these adventures. Hope you are well, dear friend!

  7. It seems like I’m always saying ‘wow, what a busy month you had,’ but I think May has topped them all at least for this year. I love seeing your pictures. I immediately thought of Lizzy looking out over a wondrous landscape in Derbyshire on that first photo. You live in such a gorgeous state. So glad we got to see Fezzik this month.

This month’s agenda looks wonderful, I’m looking forward to your reviews as I’ve read a few and I’m eager to hear what you thought. And the guests! Can’t wait.

Our May was so busy I’m not sure what happened to it. But we already know June is going to be a bit crazy, in a good way, but still crazy. We’re going on vacation in Oregon and excited about all of it, and a ‘leetle’ nervous too as our son and his fiance are getting married. It’s pretty exciting. Thank goodness (and science) that we’ve had our vaccinations and it’s safer to travel now. I’m sending out good vibes for you and all your readers, Meredith, to have safe travels and a wonderful summer.

    1. Lol! I feel like I’m always saying the same thing myself! I’m always hopeful that things will slow down a little, but they never do!

Yay! I’m so excited you had Lizzy vibes as well! I really loved this state and am having so much fun exploring it!

What an exciting June!! I hope all went well…my month was so busy that I am sooooooo slow to responding to comments and I’m sure all your lovely and exciting events of June have already come to pass!

  8. Oh Meredith, that picture in the woods is beautiful, like something from The Lord of the Rings! Glad you’ve been making the most of nature, the weather here was rubbish in May. I’m looking forward to your line up this month 🙂

  9. Way to go hiking to the top of the world! Looks breathtaking! Glad your recitals went well and you enjoyed cat sitting, too. Love seeing a Mary book coming out and look forward to seeing your reviews and the author visits.

  10. Oh my goodness, Meredith, what stunning photos! You and Fezzik are amazing to get all the way up there, but I bet it was worth it. OMG those views! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. And thanks for hosting me on the 28th, can’t wait!

    1. Thank you! Fezzik really did amaze ME! I couldn’t believe how much jumping and climbing he did for such a little pup!

I’m so happy to have you visit my dear friend!!! Sharing your beautiful cover was a wonderful treat!!

  11. Sounds like you have a great month lined up, Meredith! I’m jealous of the hiking you’ve done. I haven’t had much opportunity to go exploring yet, between restrictions, the weather, and general busyness, but I am looking forward to it. Happy reading. 🙂
