Austenesque Agenda – October 2020

Happy October, dear friends!! 🎃

Did you have a good September? I swear it went faster than August! 💨

I think I feel that way because I had some exciting activities keeping me buys this month. 🤗

I went on a lovely sibling camping trip with my brother! 🏕

We explored Congaree National Park – which may be one of the least popular National Parks, but the closest one to where we live! 🛣

And we went hiking and canoeing! It was very beautiful there. 🛶

My brother loved when it we had obstacles to go around and under!

Also, my mom and I took a day trip to visit a nearby animal sanctuary. 🐏

And I got to pet everything!!!! 🐖

It was so wonderful! 🐄

What fun did you get into in September?

  1. I have not read the last three listed/displayed. Love your beautiful photos. Great that you and members of your family found some safe activities during this quarantine. I am still staying in most of the time. Thanks for sharing your agenda.

  2. Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures. I wish I had somewhere like that near me that I could go and walk and enjoy the surroundings. Excited to read about new authors and their books.

  3. I’ve read the absolutely fabulous Sanctuary series, and the Mysteries of Pemberley (I first read it when Amy posted it so was delighted to see it published!)
Your camping trip and visit to the animal sanctuary look amazing! That forest looks like the middle of nowhere?
My September wasn’t quite as exciting, I’m still isolating as much as possible so it was mostly reading 🙂
It’s looking like my October will be more of the same so it’s lucky I have so many wonderful books to read and re read (and re read again!)
    Good luck with yours Meredith!

    1. Hi Glynis,
I’m Teresa. Confination is becoming a “sad” habit but, as you say, we’re lucky to have so many books to overcome isolation!

      1. It wouldn’t be so bad if there was a light at the end of the tunnel, but it just seems to be getting worse!
I’ve been catching up on some of my TBR but am currently rereading the Sanctuary series as I loved it so much!
        Stay safe.

    2. I love hearing your thoughts on the books we both have read!!

Yes, the forest was such a beautiful surprise – it was in the middle of a National Park, so lots of undisturbed and preserved land.

Hope you are enjoying a lovely month reading! Books are always such a comfort and delight – no matter what is going on in the world!

  4. You’re a lucky girl having the chance of enjoying these trips through such an amazing natural park!!
Your October agenda is full of promising readings! There is a good deal of mystery (Halloween is coming in a few weeks) so these novels seem the perfect way to get in the mood for the “trick or treat” season 😉
I was gifted with “The Bennet Affair” last month because of my birthday but I haven’t had time to read it yet so I hope you like it and give it a high rate.
    Happy weekend 🙂

    1. I am! I wasn’t really expecting to do a lot of traveling this year, but I am glad it worked out for these two beautiful places. And I am so happy they were even more amazing than I expected!!

I knew you would be a fan of my holiday reads!! I am looking forward to The Bennet Affair, how lovely that you were gifted it!

Hope you are enjoying a lovely month!

  5. Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures, Meredith. And I’m delighted to see Murder at Northanger Abbey on your agenda for this month. Perfect timing, considering that the story begins with a masked ball on Halloween night! Hope you enjoy the book. 🙂

We spent a week in Montana at the end of August. And we’re leaving Sunday for a few days at Mt Rainier – our closest National Park. Hopefully we’ll have good weather and beautiful pictures to share afterward.

    1. My pleasure, Shannon! I am so happy to have one of your book on my agenda this month!! It saved it especially for October!! (Thank you so much for writing a NA story!!)

I love that you are enjoying some travel and a visit to your closest National Park! I hope to visit it one day!

  6. I love it when I get to go camping with my brother and his wife so I can imagine the fun you and your brother had. The animal sanctuary looks fun and those animals are eating up your attention. 🙂
Fun list of reads for the month and neat to have several first time guests.

    Have a good October, Meredith!

  7. Wonderful photos! I’m jealous about your sanctuary visit. We usually go to one in New York State every year, but couldn’t this year because of the border closure.

It looks like you have an exciting October planned! I’m looking forward to Amy d’Orazio’s new book. I’m saving Shannon Winslow’s Murder at Northanger Abbey until closer to Hallowe’en; it seems appropriate.

    1. Thank you, Lucy! You shared some amazing ones yourself from your travels recently!

That is so wonderful that you visit an animal sanctuary annually. 😉

Glad to hear you are enjoying some new releases as well this month!

  8. I always enjoy your gorgeous photos, seeing the places you get to, and always your family. The agenda for October looks just great. I’ve only read two from your list so most will be all new to me. The guest list is especially exciting, too.

    1. Thank you, Michelle! I am so glad people are interested in my sharing of the non-Austenesque bits of my life. 😉

I am happy to share some new reads with you this month!
