  1. I have temporarily quit KU while trying to read the books which have sat on my KINDLE for years so I am now behind in reading P&P variations which are newly released. I do want to read Sanctuary Volume 3 as I so enjoyed the first two. Thanks, again, for all your hard work putting together these lists. I added a number to my Wish List.

    1. You know, I don’t think there is one! It came up on my Amazon searches and usually I weed out ones that don’t belong, but I must’ve missed this one…maybe the alliterative title is to blame.

  2. I decided to get Tempt Me as a paperback, and I still have NOT received it sadly. (I ordered what I suspect it’s a textbook or other academic book with it called Performing Jane, and this may be delaying things.) There are a few i have plans on reading (especially the Sanctuary series), and I was fortunate enough to read and like The Gentlemen Are Detained.

  3. Holy October Bat Girl. Read: Zero—except three that have come out in Audible this month. If I managed to read every book from the Sept. list that I really want to read before the end of October (Ha!) I’d still be way behind because there’s all the ones I haven’t read yet from the previous months (shhhh…years.) I did read some P&P variations in Sept. but for the most part took a break (gasp!) and read other stuff I’ve put off for a long while. I just glutted myself on JAFF for the first 6/7 months of ’20, and reached a point, you know.

I have already read Don’s book In Plain Sight (amazing, unique, heartwrenching,) Christie Capps’ book
Mischief and Mayhem (Adorable with a capital ‘A’,) and Jennie Peneaux’s Dear Nameless Stranger (love, love, loved this one.) Highly recommend all three of those, all for different reasons.

There are a ton of authors from Sept.’s list I have either not read yet but I am familiar with their names at least, or the ones I have never heard of. I’m familiar with Valerie Bowman’s writing with her Regency romance works, so I’m eager to see how she does JAFF. I’ll bet it’s going to be great.

Well, Meredith. Have a great October, it’s about my most favorite month of the year.

    1. Lol! I dearly love your comments on these posts, Michelle! They are so terrific!

I am glad you were able to mix up your reading a little this past month, that keeps everything feeling fresh, I think.

That is great that you recommend those three so strongly! 2 are on my TBR pile and one is one my wishlist!

Happy reading, friend! I hope your October is wonderful!

  4. Hi Meredith,
What can we do with so many releases and just a piece of reading time? LOL
I´m glad you have “Death of a clergyman” in you TBR because it caught my interest seeing Mary Bennet investigating mysteries. I don´t want to be bad but is Mr Collins the dead clergyman? LOL
I bought recently the first volume of Nina Clare trilogy: “Magic and Matchmaking” (blame it to the beautiful cover) but I haven´t read it yet so I can´t give you my opinion. However, it´s autumn and fantasy novels are ideal for this time of the year, aren´t they? I´m reading actually “A proper introduction to dragons” , the prequel of Maria Grace´s P&P dragon trilogy and I´m enjoying it a lot seeing little Lizzie meeting dragons.
I hope your October readings provide you a wonderful time 😉

    1. So true, Teresa! I wish I could make reading a full-time job!!

LOL! I am wondering the same thing! It wouldn’t be the first time an author has killed off Mr. Collins!

I hope you enjoy Magic and Matchmaking and A Proper Introduction to Dragons! Fantasy reads are perfect for this month!!

  5. Read two of them – Death of a Clergyman – Love that there is going to be a series about Mary Bennet, and Protecting Miss Darcy – enjoyed this series

  6. Amazing line up, Meredith. Could these numbers reflect the time available to writers because of the pandemic? Mostly P&P inspired titles, it appears. Thanks for your hard work in pulling this together.

    1. They could, although I think the numbers might be consistent with last year as well…I may need to make a chart to compare!

Thank you for checking out my list.

  7. I’ve actually read a few of these. The Sanctuary series, Accusing Mr Darcy, Fitzwilliam Darcy Undone, The Gentlemen Are Detained and Protecting Miss Darcy. All great! I have some others on my list and will check the others. I don’t do audiobooks so don’t count those!
Thanks yet again Meredith, we would definitely miss so many good books if it wasn’t for your hard work each month.

  8. Another great list! Thank you for helping me to keep up with what has been written. I hardly have time to look anymore. 🙂

  9. I would love to read Hiring Mr. Darcy (Austen Hunks Book 1) by Valerie Bowman. I love her historical romances. This is her first contemporary.

Fun fact: Valerie was on Say Yes to the Dress.

  10. The link for A Change of Fortunes: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Shana Granderson didn’t work, I intent to read Back to the Bonnet by Jennifer Duke

  11. I always like seeing this monthly post. As an avid reader, I am glad to see books I have missed in my searches. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

  12. Have read Protecting Miss Darcy – loved the whole series. Have just bought Death of a Clergyman as a result of this list so thank you as I do love seeing Mary get her chance to shine!
