Austenesque Agenda – August 2020

Happy August, friends!

I hope you all are in good health and enjoying some summer fun this year! ☀️

July sure went fast, didn’t it? I was keeping pretty busy with work and blogging, but when I wasn’t doing those things I enjoyed summer in socially-distant ways! 🏝

Some highlights of my July include:

Checking out a sunflower field. 🌻

A canoe ride with my brother. 🛶

More sunsets. 🌅

More hiking in new places. 🥾

What have you been keeping busy with?

  1. Such gorgeous photos! Love the sunflowers.
I’ve read Leslie’s book, such a great series! I’ve also read Jennifer’s lovely book, and I’ve read this and all Georgette Heyer books countless times. Love them!
I look forward to your posts Meredith, happy August!

    1. Me too, they are my favorite flower. 🙂

I so agree about Leslie’s book! I am adoring this series!

I’m very excited about all the others…hope you enjoy a lot of great reads yourself, Glynis!

  2. Looks like a busy month for you! Can’t wait. And I love the sunflower fields—I’ve got to find one!

  3. Thank you for the lovely photos. I used to live across from a sunflower field, they are amazing. I, too, am reading Lady of Quality (2nd or 3rd time) right now, and am reading Mansfield Park with an online group (4th time). Summer is flying by, as it always seems to do after July 4th. Enjoy! And thanks for your blog, it’s one of my online delights.

    1. Aw, thank you so much for checking them out!

Yay! That is a fun coincidence – it will be my first read of Lady of Quality!

Thank you so much for visiting! It is wonderful to “meet” with such dear friends online!

    1. Lol!! I’m afraid I didn’t have any hand in the labor or beauty of these sunflowers…which may be a good thing. I sort’ve think I may have a black thumb!

  4. I love the photos! We are growing sunflowers, but they have yet to bloom (soon, we hope). I will get to do some hiking in western Canada later this month. The photos remind me how much I’m looking forward to it.

    1. Oh yay! How lovely to have your own sunflowers! And yay for some hiking!! I can’t wait to see if you share about it on FB!! I’ve never been to Canada or out hiking in the northwest!

  5. Lovely field of sunflowers and looks like canoeing was a fun time. What a great line-up of guests.

  6. Meredith, you take the best photos [hello to your Mr. Bingley]. Sigh, they are always so relaxing. I always look at the masthead of your blog to see if you have new photos. They are so much fun to view. You really have a creative eye. I have several books that I am trying my best to finish. They are anthologies that I have had forever and I want to finish them. I am a full-time caregiver and that takes a lot of my time now. I am looking forward to your review of a few you have listed that I did not know about. Blessings, stay safe, and healthy.

    1. Aww, thank you, Jeanne! I enjoy taking and sharing pictures. And I’m so glad you enjoy the pictures in the header on this blog! It was part of this blog design that I really liked and I have been really happy with it!

Best of luck with finishing your anthologies – the good thing about those is, you can read a whole story in one sitting. Hope you and your family are staying well!

  7. Lovely photo’s… I;ve been listening to many books to many to type, while doing Paint by number’s for adults. I find it very relaxing doing two things I love.

    1. Thank you, Maria!! That sounds so lovely…and how great to do two things you love at once – they sound like they go hand-in-hand with each other very well!

  8. Great line up, Meredith! I am looking forward to reading Sanctuary this month, and will enjoy the rest of your line up too. Glad that you are including your annual Georgette Heyer although it’s not one of my top favourites. Will be interested to see what you make of it 🙂

    1. Thank you, Ceri! That series sounds so fantastic! I am very excited for it!

Yes! I hope to keep this tradition going for a long time!

Hope you enjoy a lovely month!

    1. Thank you, Joana! I hope you are keeping well and enjoying a beautiful summer with your family!! I’m hoping there is one more book I can squeeze into reading this month and it is yours!!!

    1. Thank you, Laurel Ann! I’m happy to have spent the day in a field of my favorite flower! Hope your garden is doing well this summer!!

Thanks so much for the lovely visit!

  9. Hi Meredith! I’m in holidays at last!. I’m enjoying some days with my niece and nephew running, playing and having fun. They are all energy and sometimes I have trouble following them!! LOL
Your sunflower pics are so cheerful and the landscape of the canoe ride is awesome 🙂
Your August agenda is really great!. I’m looking forward to your review of “Disenchanted ” and “When Mary met the Colonel” as I’ve just finished reading “Mr Darcy President” by Victoria Kincaid and I enjoyed the story 😉
    Happy August!

    1. Oh that is fantastic, Teresa!! I am so very happy to hear you are enjoying some holidays!! And that is lovely that you are with your niece and nephew! They are lucky to have you play with them!!

I am very happy to hear you enjoyed Mr. Darcy President! I hope you enjoy your time off and enjoy some more wonderful reads!

  10. Your pictures are stunning! I love the sunflowers – we have a field near us that’s quite similar, but I’ve yet to visit this summer. And…I’m so excited to showcase Sanctuary’s covers here! Looking forward to it!
