There are 7️⃣9️⃣ new Austenesque releases for the month of May! 🎉

Definitely one of the busiest months of the year so far!

🌺  Not counting rereleases or other formats I have read 1️⃣ book from this list: Recipe for Persuasion: A Novel

🌺  And the next book on my TBR pile is The Jane Austen Society: A Novel! 😍

🌺  I’m excited to also check out the new releases from Jack Caldwell and Jayne Bamber as well as the debut release from Kara Pleasants! 📚

Which books do you want to read?

  1. Oh my God! The number of new releases in the genre will never decrease will it? We will never be able to read all of them and it’s getting harder and harder to choose which ones to read!
I didn’t know about 2067: A Dystopian Pride & Prejudice Novel and that is definitely my cup of tea, so thank you for bringing it to my attention Meredith 🙂
I’ll want to read that and Persuaded to Sail by Jack Caldwell.
From this list, and not counting with the re-releases I’ve read 2: Disenchanted and The Jane Austen Society. Loved them both 🙂

    1. May was definitely a HUGE month for this genre! Wow!

I think we are more than spoiled for choice! Glad you found something new on this list that piques your interest!

So glad to hear you loved those two – I just finished The Jane Austen Society this morning and agree!

  2. I’ve read Losing Lizzy by Regina Jeffers and I have read the three by Lory Lilian many times as I have the originals in paperback and on my kindle. I also read Five Dancing Sisters by Cassandra B Leigh as it was posted.
I am definitely going to read Disenchanted but will have to check the rest out!
Thanks for such detailed information Meredith as always.

    1. Hi Glynis, I’m Teresa,
Did you like “Five Dancing Sisters”?. I’m I’m curious about this story but I don’t know if it’s worth reading 😉

      1. Hi Teresa
As you can probably tell, this is based on a fairy tale so is quite far fetched!
It was a while ago but I think it was quite short. I did enjoy reading it, it doesn’t have too much angst (which is a plus for me) however I doubt it will be top of my wish list.
        I hope this helps!

        1. Thanks so much, Glynis! Definetely it helps! Maybe I’ll give it a try, for me it’s also a plus it doesn’t have much angst LOL

    2. Thanks so much for sharing, Glynis!! I always love hearing what books others are reading, it helps me zero in on which stories I might want to check out first. 🙂

  3. So many great books and so far I’ve only read Losing Lizzy by Regina Jeffers. Man am I behind! Thanks for your fantastic list, as always. Jen

  4. If I counted counted correctly I have read 7 of these. Thanks for all the work you put into collecting and publishing these lists month after month. Stay safe.

    1. That’s an impressive amount for one month! Thanks so much for checking out the list! As long as people are enjoying it, I’ll keep making it!

  5. Hi Meredith! Whooooshhh (that was May running by us like a sprint runner.) Gah! Well, another crazy long list of new ones and I am embarrassingly going to admit I am not familiar with a huge percentage of these authors. I have read Regina Jeffers’s book Losing Lizzy which I highly recommend. And of course Lory Lilian’s re-releases. But I am looking forward to reading Jack Caldwell’s new book, Jayne Bamber’s, Somali Dev’s, Kara Pleasants’s, April Karber’s book looks interesting too.

Thanks again for listing the new audio releases for the month. I won a copy of Renata McMann and Summer Hanford’s Hypothetically Married, which I’d read and really enjoyed and recommend. Based on the numbers, I kind of shudder to think what the June list will look like. BUT I know Quills & Quartos is releasing a large handful of novellas from our fave authors this summer, so I’m (book wise) am really looking forward to this summer. 😀

    1. So true, Michelle! And I agree, there are a lot of new authors. I’m glad to find them though! Great choices of what you want to read and check out! 🙂

Glad to hear all the recs fo Losing Lizzy!!

Yes! I think the summer season might be just as busy as the spring when it comes to Austenesque!!

    1. LOL : ” smelling salts “, I love this expression and I realize now that I look like Mrs Bennet when speaking about books!!! OMG, I never thought about it but her angst for having her daughters well married is similar to my angst for having all my books read!! 😉

  6. Yes, that is an insane release list if one was trying to keep up on them all. 🙂 I did well on new releases this month by reading three. I’ve got two on the TBR and two on the wish list from here.

Lots of happy reading to be had from May. 🙂

  7. Without too many spoilers, I can definitely recommend Out There In The World! Perfect post-Hunsford what if they marry other people story with bits for all the Bennet sisters.

  8. Wow – great list! i did read the books by Lory Lilian and have read the Stephanie Barron books. I have many more to go!

  9. Read the Lory Lilian ones already. Read the Jane Austen Society, and I was going to read So This Is Love by Laura Hile, but the story was ruined for me in the last couple of chapters with her Mary Bennet marriage (WIP version)

  10. I’m looking forward to “Disenchanted ” and “The Jane Austen society”. Thanks for compiling this lovely list 😉
