Winner of Austenesque Reviews’ Favorite Reads of 2019 Giveaway!!!

Greetings my lovely friends!

I hope you are enjoying a fun Sunday! Yesterday, my mom and I saw Little Women together. I will admit, I experienced a strong bias to the 1994 Little Women, and couldn’t help being a little critical towards this one. I did love several aspects about it though. 🎥

Anyways, down to business! I always have so much fun making my summary, stats, and list of favorites each year. I am so grateful to the authors for sharing these wonderful stories with us. And I am so thankful to all you lovely readers who visit and participate on this blog! 📚

Thank you so much for checking out my Favorite Reads of 2019 and all the lovely support! 💕

Without further ado… the randomly selected winner is… Beth Pitoniak!!!

Beth, when you see this, email me what book you want, the format you want it in, and your address!

  1. I agree about the film Meredith. I liked some parts but definitely not others. Much prefer the 1990’s version.

  2. Congratulations to Beth!!

Meredith, I love your new mast-head at the beginning of your blog. Those pictures are amazing. They are always so much fun. Thanks for sharing them with us. You have a really good eye for setting up a book for us. Blessings in the new year for you and Mr. Bingley [hello to Mr. Bingley].

    1. Thank you, Jeanne! They are updated from the pictures I share on instagram…I never know when they will change here though. lol! A little unpredictable.

Thank you, I hope you and yours are enjoying a happy 2020!

  3. I have never read LITTLE WOMEN. I love reading Annotated versions of classic novels. Jane Austen is my favorite author; and I have learned so much about 18th Century Britain from reading Annotated Austen, I thought that you might be able to suggest several Annotated Little Women books. Also, please recommend your favorite Annotated version of Little Women. I appreciate and very much enjoy visiting this website. Sincerely, Dr. Roberta Shechter

    1. I feel the same! And I learned so much I actually just read and reviewed The Annotated Little Women – https://austenesquereviews.com/2020/01/the-annotated-little-women-edited-by-john-matteson.html

There was another annotated edition I was considering (this one – https://amzn.to/2ToFWe8) but I opted for this one (https://amzn.to/2tixhPI) when I saw it was edited by a LMA scholar and Pulitzer Prize winning biographer.

Hope that helps!! And I hope you love Little Women when you read it, it is absolutely charming!!

  4. Thank you all for your congratulations! Meredith was kind enough to send me a copy of A Lady’s Reputation by A. D’Orazio. It was a tough choice with so many tempting titles, and I have read several of them already. I so look forward to digging into this one! Escaping into the 19th century is a welcome respite, always.
