Hi friends! It is time for one of my favorite posts of the month – the post where I list all the Austenesque works published for the month! 🤗
While I don’t love that another month has gone too quickly, I do love discovering some new Austenesque reads…so many are ones that I didn’t hear or know about in any way. There is always a bunch of delightful surprises! 🙌🏼
And then there are the books that I do know about – either because they are by authors I am familiar with or works I knew were in progress. These books are always ones I look forward to with great anticipation! 😊

Thanks for compiling this list, Meredith. I can no longer keep up with all the JAFF published and this gives me a chance to look over those I might want to read! Glad I got my book published as I need to start writing the sequel to PROOF OF LOVE.

No! Not that time again, no no no. Wasn’t Memorial Day just a week or so ago? Well seriously, I really do appreciate these lists, Meredith. I have only read one, Leenie Brown’s ‘Loving Lydia’ online and loved it. I must read Brenda’s book. And along with a small handful of others I added Kelly Miller’s new book to my wish list.
Knowing you you won’t be idle over the next few days, and I’m sure the Agenda (yay!) is coming soon. But if I don’t have another chance to say it: Have a wonderful 4th of July.

I’ve read Taking Another Chance and A Turn in Their Dance, both I really enjoyed. I have also read Loving Lydia as it was posted but I wait until a series is complete before buying! I have Death Takes A Holiday and Love in the Afternoon to read and have more on my list including Darcy in Hollywood, The Challenge of Entail and The Means of Uniting Them. The rest I will check out. (I don’t usually bother with the short ones which are part of a series as I usually find they are often only around 10 or 20 pages! If they put the whole series into one book I might check it out.)

Can’t believe the year is halfway through already. I beat you by one in the list, Meredith! I’ve read Darcy in Hollywood, which I think you’ll enjoy, and I want to read Death Takes a Holiday at Pemberley, and Taking Another Chance. Of the rest, I’m intrigued by The Jane Austen Alphabet Book, Austentatious and No Thank You, Mr. Darcy.

I’ve only read one on the list: “Ayesha At Last”, which I read for the Group Read at the Goodreads community “Austenesque Lovers TBR Challenge 2019.” I enjoyed how author Uzma Jalauddin combined certain core elements of P&P while creating a unique story. I also really appreciated her portrayal of Muslim Canadians. Jalaluddin deftly reminds her readers that the “prejudice” in Pride and Prejudice can take on many forms…

No Thank You, Mr Darcy is a 4 star book from me! A new spin on P&P with the usual ingredients in different amounts and order. I really got into the time period of post-WW1!
Great! I really liked the look of that one. I love seeing P&P stories in different time periods!
FYI, “Lizzy Revisited” is NOT a new story. This came out in 2016. I don’t know if this one now is just a reissue, revision, or what. But you might want to check to make sure you don’t already have this book.
Thanks so much for letting me know! I added “rerelease” next to it. It looks like had a title change (and is maybe a revision), but it is hard for me to remember if any duplicates happen for books or authors I haven’t read.
I’ve read Death Takes a Holiday at Pemberley but it’s been revamped since then, so it’s a new book to readers. I look forward to many on this list. We’re so lucky. I think The Moralities of Marriage came out a couple of years ago as well. Something about EAW is memorable to me.
OH! Duels of Every Sort! I read it years ago in the Pemberley Library and it’s positively cute! You’ll love it!

(I guess because of the title?) I’m slightly disappointed to hear it is a P&P tale (just because an Emma story would be unique!) but I am sure it is a great read!

I am sorry to say I haven’t read one of those…YET. June had me immersed in edits, and I read a lot of non-Austenesque just for a change from day work.
