Happy 9th Blogiversary, Austenesque Reviews + GIVEAWAY!!!

Hi sweet friends! I cannot tell you how happy I am to be able to celebrate this day with you!

Especially after last week!

It may seem like blogging is just a hobby or a way to spend your free time, but Austenesque Reviews has come to mean so much more to me – running this blog, interacting with readers who enjoy the same books as I do, and having the opportunity to work with authors contributes SOOOO much to my overall happiness. I don’t think it is something I could ever stop doing.

I’m so thankful for all the joy reading and blogging gives me. But I don’t think it would bring me anywhere near as much joy if it weren’t for the wonderful friends, authors, and readers who visit and discuss and share! ❤️

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your visits to my blog and for being a part of my life! I sincerely thank you!

Nine years ago today (technically tomorrow) I created my first blog post. I’m so glad I did because this has been one amazing journey!  And being a part of this community is just incredible!

To celebrate, I thought I’d get a little bit of feedback from you about what you’d like to see in the future on Austenesque Reviews.

So I made some polls!

This past year has been very busy with reviews and author features, that I haven’t had a lot of time to do other types of posts. But if I do have time in the future I’d love to know what type of posts is most desired!

 Austenesque

~~~
I try my best to stay current and read the newest releases in the Austenesque genre, but there are some other books languishing in my TBR pile.  And I’d love to know what type of books you’d like to see me review!
Thanks so much for letting me know what kind of content you’d like to see here in the future!!
  1. Happy anniversary! You were one of the first blogs I found when starting to read more in the genre and so incredibly helpful in finding more books to love. Thank you for all that you do!
  2. Happy Anniversary Meredith. I honestly do not know what I would do without your blog as I enjoy it so very much. Thank you so much for all the effort and hard work which you put in to it for the enjoyment of others. Here’s to the next 9 years!
  3. Happy Anniversary, Meredith! Your blog is amazing and I think it’s the best one among all the other ones dedicated to Austenesque books. I’ve been following you for years and I’m so very happy I found you because you made me discover a wonderful world where I could stay with Jane Austen characters every time I wanted. 😉 Thank you!
  4. Congratulations on your blogiversary! I remember when you and I first discussed whether there would be any interest in a blog about published Austenesque fiction. Obviously there was! My first traditionally published books came out ten years ago, and they’re already ancient history!
    1. I’m so grateful for all the support and encouragement you and other authors gave me early on. I truly had no idea what I was doing or what it involved. I think without such encouragement, I wouldn’t have continued. Your first self-published books are forever gracing my shelves…even though I have the traditionally published duplicates, I adore those first copies. Your books and Kara Louise’s first books started something big and wonderful in the genre!
  5. Happy Anniversary, Meredith! I was so happy to see this post this morning because I believe you and I began blogging around the same time. I’ve had many stops and starts due to life changes but I am so thrilled that you are still reading and blogging on a regular basis (and doing it so well!) Austenesque Reviews was a wonderful blog in 2009 and not only remains so but continues to inspire and be amazing. I love to start my days with your lovely posts.
    Congratulations again and thanks to merchants providing the fantastic giveaway prizes!
    1. Hi Lori! I think we did! Isn’t it crazy to think it is has been that long? I am so happy to see your visits and look froward to your comments on my posts. Thank you so much for being such a long-time friend!
  6. Happy Blogiversary! Love your blog! You do such an awesome job! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next 9 years!
  7. Congratulations to you, Meredith! Your blog has been a wonderful place to find new authors and great books, and revisit some favorites, too. Here’s to the next nine years!
  8. Happy Anniversary! The reason I picked pre-blog books on your survey was that I find books for my TBR pile through blogs. It would be interesting see ones I may have missed before blogs.
    1. Thank you, Theresa! I know, I’ve always felt bad for the books that I have read but don’t have reviews for – Drive and Determination, Mr. Darcy’s Diary, Mr. Knightley’s Diary, Pamela Aidan’s series. I’m due for a reread!
  9. Happy Anniversary, Meredith! Your blog is one of my favorites and one I open several times every week. It’s so well-written that it’s a true pleasure to read. I love your pictures, your polls, your lists, and especially your reviews, not to mention your updates on your sweet family adventures. I hope to continue to read your blog for as long as you care to write it.
  10. Happy Blogiversary! I can not tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your blog. It has been wonderful to be connected to a community that loves all things Jane Austen. I have found wonderful books thanks to you and true Kindred Spirits.
    1. Thank you, Sagan! It is so kind of you to say! I love the Austenesque community and I agree about how great a feeling it is to find others who enjoy the same books and are Kindred Spirits!
  11. Congratulations on your blogiversary, Meredith! We are all grateful for you too. Excited to take the quiz & see what future directions might be. Hope for at least 9 more years…
    1. Thank you, Susan! 🙂 I am looking forward to the results too, I feel like 2018 has been hectic and not the most organized (personal life, work life, and blog life!) Hoping I can settle things a little in 2019 and feature some new posts too!
  12. Wow…9 years! I have only been in the #Austenesque world for 3! Thank you for being that lantern which helps all of us create better #InspiredByAusten fiction! (I would lobby for the soap! Have so many mugs already!)
  13. Congratulations on your anniversary, Meredith. I love reading your blog on everything Jane Austen and also, meeting some of the authors. Keep writing and I will be wishing you a happy 18th anniversary.
  17. Happy Blogiversary Meredith! !
    You must be happy and proud (but not in the way of Mr Darcy’s pride LOL) because running a blog, as you say, takes a lot of effort…and satisfaction! . When I found your “place “, I just decided “to stay in” 😉
    I enjoy a lot with all your different posts and that’s because not only the quality but the cheerfulness you put in them. So, Congrats and keep enjoying doing what you love!.
    Thanks for the giveaways but, in any case, don’t put me for them.
    A big hug 🙂
    1. Thank you, Teresa! LOL!I’m so thrilled you found this blog and decided to stay! This blog wouldn’t be what it is without people like you! Thank you so much for your years of friendship and support!
  18. Congratulations on 9 very productive years Meredith! You have much to be proud of (so keep it in good regulation, lol). I open every post and love your reviews and guest interviews. Thanks to Mr Bingley as well for supporting this labor of love.
    1. Thank you, Colleen. LOL! Yes, will do. 😉
      I’m so grateful for loyal readers like you! I so appreciate your time and conversation! Yes, he is a great supporter of AR! <3
  19. Happy Anniversary Meredith. I have voted but only for the sake of it as I love your blog just as it is. (And you know my pleasure is to read stories about Darcy and Elizabeth)
    As you know I rely on reviews to choose books by new authors now having made mistakes in the past. I also love your monthly new releases lists. I check them out and make a note of any which might interest me then unless I already know the author I wait to see if anyone I know and trust reviews them.
    I also love all your wonderful photos of your travels. As you know I can’t travel so much myself and it’s so nice to see all these places through your eyes.
    Thank you. (Hugs)
    1. Aww! Thank you, Glynis! I’m not thinking of giving the blog a big change up or anything, just wanted some feedback about any extra posts I might be able to fit in. 😉 There will still be plenty of Darcy and Elizabeth – in fact, I start missing them when I read too many books without them in a row! I’m so glad you enjoy the lists and that they are helpful! 🙂 Hoping I get to travel your way and see you again someday!
  20. Happy Blogiversary, Meredith! So happy you can celebrate free of Flo, and that you and your loved ones are safe and your beautiful home & nook are unscathed! Thanks for 9 years of Austen magic at Austenesque Reviews, and here’s to many more <3 <3 <3 xxxx
    1. Thank you, dear friend! 🙂 We were very fortunate to escape Flo’s wreckage! Now we are trying to help those who didn’t, our community is creating a lot of wonderful opportunities to do that. It is very inspiring!
      Thank you for being such a wonderful part of these nine years, not just as a lovely author who visits and is reviewed on my blog, but also as a wonderful friend who shared some memorable Jane Austen experiences with me!!! Hugs! 🙂
  21. It’s been 9 years since I got involved in JAFF, so what excellent timing I had! Your blog was all I knew of the published book side of things for a long time, and now look at how things have exploded! You know it’s still a must-do blog of JAFF for contests, reviews, and the monthly lists of new releases. You do so much for us, Meredith! Thanks!
    1. 🙂 So glad you found your way to JAFF and have contributed not only such wonderful stories, but such great friendship and support as well! Thank you for your kind support of my blog, I am always so happy to see you visit (hopefully we can see each other in person one day!)
    1. Thank you, Candy! I’m so happy Jane Austen has brought us together!! It has been wonderful to get to know you these past years and share our reading together!!! 🙂 I’m so thankful!
  22. Congratulations on your Blogiversary, Meredith!!! Yay!!!!! 😀
    You have built such a wonderful community here; I just love seeing the notifications in my e-mail inbox because I know that something delightful is awaiting me! And your giveaways are so generous, especially your ARC gifts!!
      I’m so glad our love of Jane Austen has brought us together!
  23. Congratulations on 9 years. That’s so awesome. You are one of the very few book bloggers I follow. I love your Instagram too.
    Thanks for the contest. I would LOVE a tote or some soap.
    A toast to 9 more years of awesomeness!
    1. …not because there aren’t some amazing book bloggers out there but because you continue to bring new fresh Austenesque books to my attention. Grateful for you chica!
  25. Happy Anniversary and many more. Your blog is a delightful, special and informative site which gives me a great deal of enjoyment and pleasure. Your reviews and features are always amazing. Best wishes.
  26. I cannot say enough good things about your blog Meredith, for it has always been my “go to” source for finding the best JAFF books. Your reviews are so helpful, especially now that there are so many books and new authors that I cannot possible follow/read them all. Long before you chose to review Fitzwilliam Darcy An Honourable Man, I dreamed of having one of my book featured here. You made that dream come true and thank you seems inadequate to express my appreciation. Congratulations my friend and here’s to nine more years! Hugs!
    1. Brenda, you are such a dear! Thank you for all your kind words and such amazing support for my blog! I’m truly touched by all you do and I’m so thrilled to have you in my life! <3
  28. Just found your blog and I am sad that I have missed out on so many years. But I guess that means I can check out the archives. Austen adaptations are a secret pleasure of mine and I love discovering new ones.
  31. 9-years… that is amazing Meredith. I’ve only know of you a very short time in that time period. I have loved visiting with you and Mr. Bingley and have certainly enjoyed your trips and your amazing photos. Keep up the good work dear and say a special hello to Mr. Bingley. Blessings on your hard work.
    1. It has been lovely to get to know you these past years, Jeanne! Thank you so much for being such a loyal and dear supporter of our blog and of Mr. Bingley! <3 😉
  32. Congratulations Meredith! I’m so happy for you. You put so much hard work and love into each post. I think i’ve been here the whole 9 years. I love seeing all the support you’ve gotten and growth in readers. You are a very valuable source to guide us in our choices of reading material. Great to see your travels and Mr. Bingley as well. I love your blog for its diversity. It’s the only one I read. I have no time for any others. Happy I got to meet you in person a couple years ago. We hope you have many more years of doing something you enjoy so much.
    1. Hi Suzan! Thank you, I know you are definitely one of my earliest readers and I’m so grateful for that! It was so lovely to meet you and I hope I can find my way to your area again – Mr. Bingley has been a couple times for work without me. Thank you for all the kind words and lovely friendship!
  33. Blogging years are like dog years so nine years is amazing. Your reasons for doing it are I think the reason you have such staying power. We love the welcome atmosphere and warm-hearted love you have for what you do. Thank you for the time and effort I know get put in for each post and the overall life of your blog. 🙂
  34. Congratulations on your 9th anniversary Meredith and well deserved!! When I first joined GR I was led to your blog. It was the first one I followed. I loved it!!! I can never get enough of Jane Austen. I’ve enjoyed your posts and all the information on the wonderful Austenesque books out there that I would never have known about only for you. Long may you continue.
  35. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary. Thank you for making a home and community for all of us Austen fans! It was a pleasure to meet you when you visited Seattle years ago! I wish you all the best in your future!
    Joy
  36. It seems like I just turned around and it was anniversary #8. Gosh. Your blog was the first blog I discovered, and though there are some other good ones out there, I believe yours remains the best and definitely my favorite. As I’m sure I’ve said before that none of my friends reads and enjoys the same kind of books and thus I don’t have a local friend or relative to share these great reads with. It is such a big part of my life, it’s hard to imagine going without this absolutely wonderful blog and it’s sources of so many Austenesque things you give us each and every month.
    Happy anniversary, Meredith. Congratulations on 9 years! Here’s to many, many more.
    Very lovely of the vendors to offer these gifts in honor of this occasion.
    1. This past year has flown!!!! It feels like I’m always playing catch-up! Thank you for all your lovely words and support of my blog, sweet friends! I agree with what you say completely, it is such a big part of our lives…something I thinking about or spending time on each day if I can. It is so great to find other people who are doing the same!
      Thanks for all your participation and support! I’m glad you like the vendor items! 🙂
  37. Happy Anniversary. I feel like I’m connecting to people who ‘get’ me on this page. I am in Australia and haven’t found anyone here who shares my passion so your emails are waited for with baited breath. Thanks again.
  38. Congrats, Meredith!!! Like Mr Knightley…I can’t write long posts. Many stars in the Austenesque world but only one Austenesque Reviews!
  39. Happy blogiversary! I am so glad you blog, not just because I enjoy your features, including your amazing lists, but also because through your blog I have found a lovely reading buddy in you!
    1. That is so lovely of you to say, Ceri! I am so happy to know you through our love of Jane Austen and I’m so glad we “met” years ago. Love learning about you and staying connected through reading and Jane Austen!
  40. Congratulations on 9 years!!! I have been following your blog since 2010 and have discovered so many wonderful authors….and I hope to continue to find more because of your blog for many years to come!!!!
  41. I/we really appreciate everything you have done. Your insight and supportive blogs provide us not only with a forum, but also guidance to continue to improve our work. May you have another nine–or nineteen.
  42. Congratulations on 9 years! Yours was the first Austen blog I found thanks to Goodreads. I don’t always comment, but I always enjoy your posts and adding to my ever-growing TBR list. PS, Northanger Soaps are awesome!
  43. Happy blogiversary, Meredith! I’m glad to say I have been following you from the beginning! What a journey!
    And, I love those mugs. Sad the shipping is always so expensive to Europe. Need to check them out anyway, Christmas is coming up fast…lol.
  44. Congratulations on your bloggiversary Meredith! I’m very happy to see that you are still committed to keep this amazing place where we share ideas about books and authors, where we can be informed about what is happening in the genre and even discover some oldies 🙂 I voted for books released before 2005 because with so many new books getting released nowadays I feel the need to go back to novels that were released back when this was not it such a trend. I hope I can get some advice from you here 🙂
  45. Happy blogiversary! Another year! How the time flies. Congratulations and thank you for your time and efforts to bring us your awesome blog!!
  46. Congratulations on your ninth anniversary! I’m another one who can count your blog as an early discovery upon venturing into the online world of Austenesque fiction, which would be in early 2014. Though I may not comment on every post, I do try to read them all but sometimes RL gets in the way.
    I love your monthly lists, your agenda posts, your top 10s and getting to see where you and Mr. Bingley have been on your travels. It’s good to see that both of you and Netherfield have survived Florence more or less intact.
    It’d be good to see more Ardent Austenque interviews, having taken part myself a few years ago, and that’s one of the items I voted for.
    Best wishes and hopes for many more years to come!
  47. Congratulations Meredith! You are my favorite Austenesque Blog. I think I’ve been with you since the beginning. Here’s to many more years!! Thanks for the giveaway!! –Leslie
  48. Love your blog! Congratulations! Also, I saw on Facebook that you were *thinking* that the Painter’s Daughter was on sale. I love the website ereaderIQ.com as it will show you the price history of any amazon e-book! Great tool!
  49. 9 years already, my oh my time flies when you’re having fun. What fantastic times I’ve had visiting 😀 Congrats Meredith!! Hope you’ll continue for many more years.
  50. Happy Anniversary I’m happy that I found this blog. As an avid reader I’m always looking for new books to read, I find reading blogs are a good source to find books, and new authors.
  51. Congratulations on achieving this milestone, Meredith. It’s a great nine years hasn’t it? I remember discovering and reading all your earliest reviews and so excited when I get to read new content from you. I was just beginning my Jane Austen obsession and your blog was one of the few sites which I visit often. But then real-life took over and now I’m lucky if I have time to read them all.
    Anyway please enter me for the worldwide giveaway, Meredith. My favourite item in the giveaway is the tote bag. Thank you.
  52. Yay for 9 years! I am a relative newcomer to the blog, but I will say how nice it is to have someone talking about and reviewing the types of books that I read. It feels like you have cultivated your own little Austen community here and I think Jane would whole heartedly approve.
  53. I voted, but if you write a blog, I will read it! Thanks for keeping me informed about my favorite books and authors for the last 9 years. Now I have to go do a little Christmas shopping…
  54. Happy Blogiversary! I love your site and all the lists you have that I can refer to when looking for more books to add to my already too long Austenesque TBR List. I also that that you always state what Type of Austenesque Novel a book is as well as the setting at the top of your reviews since I am not always in the mood for the same kind of Austenesque Novel and so I have different TBR Lists for different Types. I also love all the giveaways you host and this one looks really cool so thanks you for hosting it. I look forward to continuing to follow you both here and on Goodreads in the future.
