Hi readers, I can’t believe how fast August (and summer in general) went! I’m always sad when it’s the end of August because I love summer and never want it to end! Lucky for me, I live in a place that doesn’t change temperature for a few weeks more.

I have read Charles: To Discover His Purpose, and Four Obstinate Ladies by Kate Bedlow and enjoyed both these.
I am interested in reading Kitty by Abby Wilton and Mrs Bates of Highbury by Allie Cresswell.
But in this book – Mrs. Fitzwilliam by April Floyd it sounds like the Colonel has been killed off so that is a no-no for me

I have liked loving Elizabeth series I can not wait for next one! I read it in like a day.

I’ve not read any of these, but I do have a few that I will definitely be reading: In Good Conscience and Mrs. Bates, for sure. Letter of the Law and Leenie Brown’s Mansfield series are on my list, too.

Oh Meredith, I am soooo far behind in my reading! I think I have only read one book this month! But was it ever wonderful! It is not Austenesque though…Nowhere But North by the ever talented Nicole Clarkston which I still have to do a review on!
I am actually looking forward to the fall, and I have several of the above books on my wishlist to purchase in the very near future! (J. Dawn King’s, Cat Gardiner, Leenie Brown, Jennifer R., A. Jefferson, A. Wilton, Summer and Renata’s, Rose Fairbanks and I have already read Kate Bedlow’s a while back). I just need the time! So glad you had a wonderful summer! Thank you for this list!
I feel the same, Carole! This summer has been a challenge for me! I am hoping that life/work will calm down a little so I can try and “catch up.” I’ve been hearing some great things about Nowhere But North, so glad to hear you thought it was wonderful! Ah, a month where I’ve read more than one on your list! The Letter of the Law is another fantastic tale from Joy King. Encounter at Pemberley was a good read, too but the title is a bit misleading as there’s so much more to it than that.
Of the rest, I was intrigued by The Dread Mr. Darcy – must be about pirates, I thought, remembering The Dread Pirate Roberts from the wonderful film, The Princess Bride, and it is. Not sure if I want to go on and read it yet, though. Pride and Prejudice and Airships was another I checked up on. It’s not only steampunk but a gender-swap story, too. Again, having read the blurb, not sure if it’s for me. Guess I’ll wait on those two.
I really want to read the final instalment of the Conscience series. It’s been such a wonderful ride (literally) alongside Iceman and Lakmé that I don’t want it to end! But all good things….. Jennifer R’s book also looks pretty good.
I know it’s not a novel but non-fiction but can I give a shout out for Maria Grace’s How Jane Austen Kept Her Cool? It’s a fascinating insight into how the Georgians made, stored and ate our favourite frozen dessert. Another book I’d like to mention that doesn’t come in this category, if I may, is Nicole Clarkston’s new North and South variation, Nowhere But North. You won’t fail to fall in love with John Thornton all over again!

For your sake Meredith, I wish summer could stay with you longer. But I love fall, it’s my favorite season. Well, I can only hope this fall will bring us a nice change this year. We have had the rainiest summer here, it’s been crazy. We wish we could share it with the states that need it so badly.
I’d like to be totally lazy and just copy and paste carolincanada’s comment, since she listed my wish list exactly. I have Nicole Clarkston’s new book and it will be my next read. Much anticipated, I’m so excited to read it.

I read “Summer’s End” while it was being posted as a WIP and LOVED it — I look forward to reading the edited version. So charming and well written. Plus, I always love a good WWII Romance :).

Two books I really enjoyed by two authors new to me:
Summer’s End by Tish Elham, the characters and events of Pride in Prejudice in a setting of World War II England.
And one that isn’t on your list, The Golden Apples of the Sun, by Ivy May Stuart, a regency story published 8/30/18.
I personally rate both of these 5 stars.
