Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well! I hope those readers in Canada and the US enjoyed some lovely Independence Days! 😉 I can’t believe 2017 is half over! The year is going so fast! I wish time would slow down!
June was busy for me. But strangely I got a lot of reading done! 😀 Besides reading…and reviewing….
I spent an evening reorganizing my bookshelves (I loved it! It’s been over a year since I’ve done this.)
I went to a Jane Austen inspired concert with my brother (who I’ve now decided I will refer to as Henry Austen on this blog, because just like Jane was very close with her brother Henry, I am very close with mine! And he is a little bit of charmer sometimes!)
BTW – these lovely ladies will be recording this entire concert soon and make it available for purchase for those of you who enjoy listening to Jane Austen inspired music. You can follow of them on Facebook!

And lastly, I spend a couple of days in Disney and Universal Studios with some family visit from Colombia! It was a bit crazy going to Orlando during a holiday weekend and in 99 degree weather, but also wonderful! Magical places with people we love! Good times! 😀 <3

Hi Meredith, lovely post. Looks like you have been very busy but having a wonderful time also. We have just returned from the Lake District on a week’s holiday. We visited Hilltop House in Ambleside where Beatrix Potter used to live and looked around the village where she based some of her stories on. Lovely place to visit but the weather could have been better! Looking forward to all your wonderful reviews as usual.

Oh dear. Sorry about the weather, Michelle! I saw this fridge magnet in Great Langdale campsite, with 2 identical images of sheep + rain, with the caption ‘Lake District in winter & Lake District in the summer’ 😀 But Hilltop House must have been a delight.
Dashwood Sisters??? Yes!!!! There’s one copy in my 40+ libraries’ network. I have put a request. As it’s the month of the 200th “passing” annv., more non-fiction books are on the way. Hopefully less than previous months…my inner Anne Elliot says less non-fiction!

Love the photos and admire your energy in reorganizing your books. I don’t envy your visit to Disney and Universal in that heat. We went at Easter and Thanksgiving so it was a bit cooler. I have not read the Notting book but your rating will now cause me to put it on my TBR pile. I have read Kara’s book, Victoria’s book and Lillian’s book and enjoyed all those. I also read Miss Darcy’s Beaux and enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to learning more about that music’s availability.

I just hope I can get some reading done on vacation
It is sometimes tricky to do that! On our trip to Disney I thought I’d get more reading done, but the only times I could read were at the airport or on the plane! Hope you get to read on your vacation!

Looks like you’ve been having a fun summer so far; I’m so glad! It is going by really fast. Of your August books I’ve so far only read Master Under Good Regulation. I just loved it and I did cry lol. I wasn’t sure a whole book could be made from Reggie’s POV but Kara pulled it off.

Loved your post! I recently re-organized all our bookshelves, with the help of my husband as he finished our new built-ins in the living room! The music concert sounds wonderful and I just checked out Pembertea…I am so tempted! I just might ask for a subscription for Christmas! I know…it’s just becoming a lovely summer and I’m thinking of Christmas! Glad you had fun with your family in Disney. As for the books, I have read Lory’s and Elizabeth’s. I’m really looking forward to learning more about Caitlin’s! I hope to read ‘Jane Austen’s England’ by Karen Quint a little each week and see all the places that Jane had visited etc. I recently finished Jodi L. Covey’s ‘Progression Vol. 3’ which I adored and finally read Victoria Kincaid’s ‘Darcy vs. Bennet’ which was so enjoyable as well and what a twist!

I’m really excited about seeing what happens in Miss Darcy’s Beaux – I read the first couple of chapters already, it will be interesting to see what other characters she encounters!
I’d love to have that many books to re-organise! How have you done it this time? By genre and then alphabetically by author surname within genre? By publisher and then again alphabetically by surname? I have one shelf that looks totally random (especially to my son) but it houses my precious collection of books that I’ve had the pleasure to proofread/beta. They’re in chronological order by publication date.
The concert sounds wonderful! I’d love a copy of the recording, so I’ll have to nip over to FB to find out more. I’ve already checked out the Pembertea website but as I live in the UK, the shipping adds quite a bit to the overall cost, so sadly I think I’ll pass on that. Looks amazing though. Theme parks just aren’t my thing, unless someone comes up with an Austen themed one – oh wait, that’s Hampshire!
As ever, I look forward to reading your reviews of all of the books listed, especially Darcy’s Honour (sorry, just have to spell it the British way!) as that’s one of the books on my beta shelf. Kara Louise’s book has been languishing on my Kindle for far too long and Lory’s is a recent acquisition. Your visitors look fascinating, too.
LOL! Anji. So many options right? I do it mostly by publisher and by author. I prefer to keep my paperbacks and hardcovers separate and have grouped books together that are all from the same publisher (and then I go by author last name and then book title). So all my Meryton Press books are all together on one shelf, all my Sourcebooks are all together in another section. I had it like this last time, but I just moved the shelves around that way new books will be on top and others go to the bottom for a little. 🙂
Sorry to hear about the Pembertea box being a bit pricey, I did see on FB that they were exploring other shipping options. Maybe they will be able to cut that down soon?
