Happy 6th Blogiversary Austenesque Reviews!

Blogiversary

Woot woot!  This blog is turning 6 today! *blows noise-maker*

Can’t believe my little blog and I have been together so long!  It has been 6 wonderful years of reading, reviewing, working with authors, and connecting with Janeites!  Austenesque Reviews has been a place for me to share my love of Jane Austen and reading with you all, thank you for all your friendship and support!

Since I shared the birth story of Austenesque Reviews and some interesting blog stats last year, I thought it would be fun to do something different this year…

This year, I want to know about you!  I want to know about your relationship and history with Austenesque Reviews.

I’d like to continue making Austenesque Reviews a place you want to visit and it would help me out a lot to know your honest thoughts. So I thought I’d make a short survey so I can learn a little more about the lovely readers of my blog. (See survey below!)

I’ll be sure to share the results with you all in a few days! 🙂

I am very grateful that you do this for us and also to the wonderful JAFF authors who write wonderful stories.

  2. “Note: Mr. Bingley not included” *giggle* He’s probably thankful. LOL I love your blog Meredith. I check in each morning to see what lovelies you have in store for us. You and I usually agree on books so your reviews are always fun for me and add to my eternal list of books to read. 1. 😀 You are such a lovely and loyal reader, Stephanie! I loved getting to know you these last couple of years! If there is one thing I’ve learned in these 6 years is that reducing the size of your TBR is impossible! Thank you for all the kind words, my friend!

  3. I had to laugh that Mr. Bingley was not part of the giveaway! I am looking forward to seeing your completed home. I thoroughly enjoy your blog, and congratulations on the blog-iversary!

  4. Congratulations, Meredith! I love the site & hope you continue for many more years. Thanks for all your hard work. I also loved the caveat that Mr. Bingley is not included with the books. Too funny! 🙂

  5. LOL ‘Mr Bingley not included’ 😀
    I should imagine not 😉
Happy Anniversary, Meredith, and MANY more! Your blog is such a happy place, please keep it going, it’s a wonderful place to be!

  6. Hello Meredith! I have been a lapsed Austenesque Reviews commenter this year, but I would be terribly remiss if I didn’t say congratulations.

Happy 6 Year Anniversary! Your blog means a lot to the JAFF community because of your cheerful personality, honest reviews and how you connect so many authors and fans, and we would be lost without you. Please keep up the fun events, reviews, giveaways and making sure my JAFF to-read pile is never low.

Congratulations and here’s to another six
    years! 🙂

    1. Hi Heather! Thank you so much for your kind words! Been meaning to send you an email to say hi! 😉 I hope you are doing well! Thanks for your lovely support and readership!

  7. Hi Meredith, Happy 6th Blogiversary! You must be proud of your blogger work: 6 years, amazing!!. I met you several years ago by chance, googleing in internet about Jane Austen books and your blog appeared and … well, it was the starting of a friendly connection across the ocean!. Thanks for this place full of readings, opinions, news, all beautiful things about literature!. I enjoy a lot with your reviews, the interviews with authors and the commentaries of the readers so, I hope you keep writing as well as you do, (of course, no doubt LOL). Thanks for the giveaway and ¡”ENHORABUENA” MEREDITH! (“Congrats”)

    1. Thank you so much sweet friend! I don’t know about being great at writing reviews…I sometimes find it very difficult! I greatly appreciate you friendship and love hearing your thoughts on what I read!

  10. Congratulations, your site immediately helped me when new to P&P fanfic and continues to inform and entertain today. You’ve built an incredible community! Well done!

  11. Happy Anniversary. I have only followed you for less than two years as, when I retired, I set a goal of posting my own reviews of JAFF on Amazon and kept seeing your name on other reviews and kept noticing how I agreed with your opinions. So I decided to click on the title of your site listed under your name there and found this blog. So yours was the first blog i followed and I love everything about it. So glad you find the time and energy which benefits all of us looking for information about books and authors.

    1. I think it is awesome how you found me through amazon, Sheila! <3 the story! I found Mary Simonsen through some amazon discussions and she was the first person to suggest I start my own blog. Amazon is wonderful! I wish I had the time and energy to be as voracious a reader as you, my friend! I can't keep up with how many books and reviews you read and write each month!

      1. But that only happened with retirement…you have a job so that takes a lot of your time, as mine did when I was working.

  12. Thanks for all you do Meredith to help the authors and readers. It’s a great place to check for updates, reviews and opinions. Jen Red

  13. Happy Anniversary, Austenesque Reviews and Meredith! Six years of wonderful posts, visits, and a friendly place to visit with other Jane Austen lovers. Best wishes for more to come!

    1. Thank you, Sophia Rose! You’ve been such a loyal supporter of this blog for so long! I’m very grateful for all your kind comments and for taking the time to read so many of my posts! It is very appreciated!

  14. What everyone else said…..Congratulations! Yes! Another six years, yes! Keep up this perfect place to visit, learn, and share, yes! YES! I could copy and paste Sheila L.M.’s comment, and too, just about everyone else. Wonderful job, Meredith.

    1. Thank you, Michelle! I’m very fortunate to have such lovely and kind readers like you who enjoy my rambling on about Jane Austen and Mr. Bingley! I definitely never want to stop blogging! Love it too much!

  15. Happy bloggiversary Meredith! I love your blog, long may it continue! I always enjoy your reviews, which are fair and balanced, your Austenesque finds and probably the icing on the cake for me as a fellow list-lover are those wonderful lists that you do.

Please don’t enter me for the giveaway, as I already have a set of the clothbound classics, and they are truly lovely. I just wanted to comment to add my congratulations.

    1. Thank you, Ceri! 🙂 I greatly appreciate you letting me know you enjoy the various posts on my blog! And I’m glad you appreciate my affinity for making lists! LOL! Thanks for always being so kind and supportive!

  16. Yay, happy blogiversary Meredith! It’s always so fun to stop by here and see what you’ve got going on, and not just with the books, but your real-life also. (I’m still chuckling at your note: Mr. Bingley not included. Dang! Lol) You do a fantastic job so just keep on keepin on. <3

I've actually never seen Clueless (that I can remember) so hopefully I'll be able to watch it with everyone this Saturday!

    1. LOL! Thank you, Monica! I’m glad you enjoy the Mr. Bingley posts as well – I do love him and love to talk about him! 🙂

I hope you can enjoy us on Saturday! I loved group-watcing with you in the past and know your commentary would add so much fun to the occasion!

  17. Congratulations, Meredith! You and I DO go a long way back – to 2010 I believe. IIRC, I just emailed you out of the blue- we had never even talked before – and asked you to review ‘1932’. What about my gumption?! lol I love what you have done for all things Austenesque, and this is a place I always check if I want to see an informative review from someone who understands the genre. You’re the bomb!

    1. Thank you, Karen! You are so right! LOL! I was so excited to receive your request – as I always am to receive any from lovely authors like yourself! But it was so awesome of you to contact me for a review when I was so little known and blog was so small! Very grateful for the opportunity as 1932 is a fabulous and unique read that I’m so happy to have read! <3

  18. Happy Blog Birthday! Blogiversary! Congratulations! And mostly, thank you! Thank you for all the time and effort you put in for our enjoyment!

  19. Happy 6th year bloggiversary Meredith! Love your blog, reviews, interviews, and your many list you provide. It’s such a great reference to refer back to. Looking forward to many more wonderful years of reviews!

  20. Congratulations and thank you for your passion and creativity! Though I haven’t been commenting very much this year as I would like, I do read it and comment when I can. I now have a new laptop and with Fall upon us and ‘Winter is coming’, I do hope to comment more. You are my ‘go to’ blog for all things ‘Jane’!

  21. Happy Anniversary, Meredith! Your site was one of the first I ever visited and I loved it and you! You have always run your blog with such class. It is one to emulate! Thanks for all your help and your kindness! Best wishes for many more years!

    1. Thank you, Janet! I’m so glad you found my blog and that we became online Jane Austen friends! I appreciate all your kind words and hope that we get to meet one day in person!

  22. Happy Anniversary, Meredith! Wow six years of bringing Janites together with their favorite hero and heroine is a huge accomplishment and gift of love. Thank you for all you do for readers and authors alike. Wishing you many more years of success and happy reading. Congratulations!!

    1. Thank you, Cat! I can’t believe it has been 6 years! Before blogging my time reading and online were spent very differently! Now I’m almost always working on blog posts, interacting with readers, reading other blogs! 😉 Wouldn’t change a thing though!

  23. I aleays get such a positive and warm feeling during/after reading one of your posts!. Si congrats & here’s to another 6 years 🙂

  24. Congratulations! 😀 I love your website (I only wish I had the time to leave more comments >_<). Keep up the fantastic work! And thank you for the giveaway! 😀

  25. Congratulations on 6 years! I found your blog through goodreads and have really enjoyed all of the author interviews, excerpts and giveaways. I’ve found so many great, new-to-me authors through your blog. Thank you for all of your hard work and for being such a great connection between JAFF readers and authors. Your site is one of my favorites.

    1. Thank you, Kim! That is so cool that you remember finding AR through Goodreads! 🙂 I’m glad you have enjoyed finding new books and meeting new authors through this blog!

  26. Happy Anniversary and here’s to the many years to come!!! I think I like you, I’m actually not sure. You see I used to be a normal person who could read all kinds of books. Now because of your site and your reviews I find myself reading more and more JAFF each year and I don’t think that is going to change soon. I have even used some of the JAFF books as inspiration when taking my writing classes where we were given free reign of what to write about. I find myself using Regency cant in order to insult people or when talking about the books. Basically I have gone crazy, okay crazier, so I blame you. Now all I need to do is figure out if the above things are bad or good and then I can tell you if I like you or not. 😉

    1. Danielle, I am sure that there are many of us who can agree with your habit of making JAFF the majority of our reading selections. I still read a few in other genre but I so love Elizabeth and Darcy, especially. And I find, that I, too, use the cant in some of my writings.

    2. LOL! Thank you, Danielle…I think! I love feeling immersed with JAFF. It is great to have these characters fill my head all the time! I love that you speak in Regency cant – that is something I don’t do. But I do quote Jane Austen’s wisdom and use council from time to time. I hope you will forever find the above mentioned things as all good! 😀

  27. Congratulations Meredith. I’ve only been with you for just over a year and a half but you were one of the first JAFF blogs I discovered. I may not comment much right now, life is hectic at the moment, but I always read your posts. Just had to comment here to wish you a happy blogiversary .

  28. Congratulation again on the 6th anniversary :DD
I liked the idea of the questions, it helps you as a blogger to understand your readers and for us readers to reflect on how approach the bog ‘frequnecy, what we like etc)

  29. Congratulations on your anniversary. Also, I think your survey was a good idea. I wish some of the other sites would follow this practice.

  30. I ran across your blog by complete accident but I am so glad I did. I love your reviews and all your updates including Mr. Bingley. It is wonderful to read about all the little things I love about Jane Austen.

  31. I just adore this site and all that you write and your adventures with your own Mr.
    Bingley.
Thank you for the giveaway. These are
all such beautiful editions and I’d love one!

  32. You are an important member of our JAFF community. Keep up the good work. (That might be hard to do with all the exciting changes in your life right now! — Enjoy every minute of it.)

  33. Your blog is lively and wonderfully interactive with the readers. And you are very much on top of what is happening in JAFF. Thanks for doing such good work.

  34. Happy Blogoversary!!! I have been following your blog for many months now and you have made me really curious about the various adaptations of Pride & Prejudice. The title that had got me really intrigued most recently is The unthinkable Triangle 🙂

Your conversation and participation are always welcome; please feel free to "have your share."
