Austenesque Novel Finds – April 2015

ANF

YAY!  This is a revamp of a series with the same name I started awhile back.  This time around instead of spotlighting 1 new book recently or soon-to-be published – I intend to share ALL the Austenesque books published each month!

This change is a little self-serving on my part…in the last two years I found it very difficult to keep my A Comprehensive Guide to Austenesque Novel Lists current.  There were periods where I slacked off, and then had A LOT to catch up on!  Now, I’m forcing myself to stay up to date each month!

I could use your help though – if you ever come across any books that you know are about to be published or that are published throughout the month, feel free to send me an email (merry816[at]aol.com) and I’ll make sure they are included in the monthly update!  I don’t want to leave any books out, but may accidentally miss a book I wasn’t aware of!

So here is my first post in this revamped series…

Oh my goodness what a busy month it has been!  It is impossible to keep up…but I guess that isn’t a bad thing! 🙂

Out of these 34 books listed for April  I have read 1, have 2 on my soon-to-be-read list, and have added 9 more to my ever-growing wish-list!

  1. Your lists are obviously a work of love – thank you for all the time you put in. We do appreciate it. I make my own lists but only of what I have read and how I rated them.

    1. Thank you for the very kind words, Sheila! Back 5 years ago, it was way easier to make lists and keep track of all the books published. 😉 But this is the kind of thing that I’d like to continue doing…even if it does take a lot of work!

  2. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! It is definitely hard to keep up with all the new releases and new authors and you have helped us all tremendously! There are several listed above that I have added to my wishlist and will be adding to my TBR list too! I saw ‘Persuaded’ and will have to add that one immediately. I am really enjoying that series and looking forward to the rest!

    1. It’s amazing how many books came out in just one month alone! More than 30!! That’s one book per day at least! Glad to hear you really like the Leaving Bennet Behind series, I love the covers!

    1. Years ago I used to have a widget in my sidebar that I would update monthly with new and upcoming release…that was when the amount new releases were around 4-5 a month! Now look how many are published a month!

  3. Quite a list of recommendations! Thanks Meredith for sharing. And for including “Suddenly Mrs Darcy”– as today is its book birthday! Hope you get chance to read this first work from emerging talent, Jenetta James.

    1. No problem, Christina! I checked Amazon frequently to see if it was published and just before this post went live I did one more search and saw that it was! Congrats to Jenetta and to you! 🙂 Happy launch day!

  4. Thank you for showing us the new novels coming soon! It´s such a BIG list, LOL! 🙂
If they were trees instead of books, one could easily get lost in this Austen forest! WOW!

  5. Wow, Meredith! What a list!! I only own two among those books… or maybe three. 😛 I have too many books! Haha!!

  6. Oh myy! I bow down in acknowledgement of your awesomeness, Meredith!! I’ve heard of some of these and actually own only two. There are quite a number of new authors for me here, too.

    Excellent work!

    1. LOL! You are so sweet, Anji! It is amazing to discover how many books and authors you didn’t know before. Not every author seeks readers out on goodreads and facebook. Some keep much more to themselves.

  7. Whew, yeah! I can see this as a huginormous undertaking. I refer so many people to your lists and guides and use them a lot for myself so I’m very grateful you do this. I doubt I’ll catch any you won’t see, but I’ll make sure to zip it over to you if it happens.

I’ve read one of those and have three on the too read pile.

  8. Love the revamp! This is quite an undertaking but I am very happy to be reaping the benefits 🙂 I am currently reading one and had only heard of three others. Thanks Meredith!

  9. The boxed set of my first 4 Seasons of Serendipity are out now on all major ebook retailers. I’m woking on the paperback version. It’s so awesome that you take the time to do these lists Meredith! From one blogger to another, I know how much time and dedication it takes, you are a treasure! 🙂 – Elizabeth Ann West

    1. Thank you Elizabeth. Because of the high number of releases per month, I don’t plan on posting duplicate editions with this list series, but since this month was the first release of your boxed set, I definitely need to add it. 🙂 Thanks for letting me know!

  10. And I thought Amazon was keeping me up to date on everything new in my favorite genre! Whew, Woman. You are such an amazing resource. Thank you. Gotta go put some more books on my wish list.

  11. So many new interesting books, so little time to read them… I have not yet finished previous bought/presented P&P books, but I already look forward to laying my hands on new ones:) Thank you for this update!

    1. I’m the same way! I’m never running out of books to read, but I’m always excited about acquiring more! 🙂 Glad you like the update!

  12. Oh I love the once a month ALL the books post! So handy, thank you for putting it together! Off to add a bunch to my list.

  13. Thank you, Meredith, for listing Forever Yours. I’m looking forward to your review, and as always, I want to do a giveaway. I have several books on that list, and I hope to read them over the next few months.

  14. Thank you so much Meredith, this must’ve taken some work! I found a few I hadn’t heard of. This doesn’t give me much hope regarding my TBR list though, as I only read about 8 or so books a month, and if 30 are published then I’m getting more behind all the time!

    1. That’s awesome that you read 8 books a month…I seem to stay around 6 myself…so yes, the probability of catching up might not be very likely! But a good chunk of these are shorter works – novellas and short-stories, so maybe… 😉 Thanks for checking out the list!

  15. Holy Moley! That’s a lot of JAFF books to come out just in April!
This is a great idea, Meredith, listing all the new books to come out each month. It’s also a lot of work to keep up with! I didn’t know half of these new books! Thanks for keeping us posted!

    1. Isn’t it! I didn’t know the list would be so long for one month! If this month had over 30 does that mean over 300 books are published each year?!? Glad you like this series, Candy! I’m glad it seems to be a hit so far!

  16. This is a great idea, since there are so many!! Thanks for all your work, Meredith! Also, helps us Janeites to try to keep up!

  17. Thank you for always putting together great list! Added so many more on my never ending TBR list…

  18. Wow! Wow! Wow! I had no clue there were so many I missed. This list is awesome, Meredith. It’s such a lot of work for you to put together, especially with the cover photos, but those pictures serve as a better memory jog for me. I’m going to need more bookshelves and storage on my Kindle, I think.

    1. There would be many I would miss to if I didn’t go hunting for them! Glad the list helps you learn about new reads! 🙂 Thank you so much for the kind praise – I love using images with my posts and am such a cover junkie that including the covers is a must for me! 😉 If a person owned all these books it would be quite a sizable library…might rival Pemberley’s! 😉

    1. Thanks, Deborah! I would love to include amazon and goodreads links but I’m afraid it would make the post so much longer to compile and update!
