Austenesque of Agenda for November 2012

Austenesque Agenda

Whew!  October was a busy month!  Full of new schedules, new projects, and new adjustments!  My Mr. Bingley and I have greatly enjoyed our first month in our new roles/jobs.  Life has just been a little less stressful for us and we, in turn, have felt a lot more relaxed!  What a blessing his new job is!!

Here’s some of what I’ve been getting into:

Crocheting!  Making some gifts for my friend who just had a baby!  I’m by no means a talented crafter, but after just making simple double-stitch scarves for many years, I’m being brave and trying some more challenging projects!

Cooking!  Trying out some new recipes!  The top two are Cilantro Garlic Fries and Bruschetta alla Julie and Julia.  Both were given two thumbs up by my Mr. Bingley.  The bottom one is a Minecraft Cake made up of rice krispies treats and jello.  This one was for the boys in my house who LOVE to play Minecraft.  It was pretty easy to make, except for the very precise shape and size everything had to be cut into.  My knife skills and patience weren’t exactly up to par!

(BTW – we did not eat all three of these in the same night!)

  1. I’m glad you and your hubby are less stressed and finding time for more fun things. My library has a beginning knitters class and I thought about trying it out just for the heck of it.

Can’t wait to hear your upcoming reviews, particularly Reflections and One Thread Pulled.

    1. Go for it, Monica! It’s so much fun to make something with your hands, and it is easy to do while we watch movies!

I’m very excited about my pile of books for this month (I think I say this every month!) 😉

    1. Hello Nicole! I look forward to comparing thoughts with you. I’ve read The Darcys of Pemberley, but I haven’t read An Unforgiving Temper.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I’m hoping to read A Dance With Jane Austen.

I loved your crocheted items. I made one of those bubble stitch scarves last winter and it was fun.

    1. That’s right, you won it during AE, didn’t you suzan! Happy reading!

I loved the look of the bubble stitch and kept searching til I found a pattern I could handle. It is a fun stitch, and great for a baby’s blanket!

  3. I am going to read A Dance With Jane Austen. Meredith, your crocheting is excellent. I am looking everywhere for this kind of cap, you are really good with your hands. Please, keep us posted on your upcoming crocheting projects as well as Jane Austen books. You are doing a great job. Have a lovely day.

    1. Hello aurora! Thank you for your kind words! I definitely hope to start more crochet projects soon! It’s so much fun and I’ve found lots of new patterns on Pinterest!

I hope you enjoy A Dance with Jane Austen, I sure did!

  4. Looking forward to all your reviews, especially My Dear Sophy. I’m so happy to hear about the less stressful life in the ‘Bingley’ household. So what do we have to do to get your garlic cilantro fries recipe? I’m not above begging.

I’m going to read the Beresfords, A Dance with Jane Austen, and Pemberley’s Promise.
