Interview with Yours Truly!

Hello dear readers!

What a switch this is for me!  Today I posting about an interview I had with Austenesque Author, Emily  C. A. Snyder.  The switch is that the author was interviewing the blogger and not the other way around!

Emily is a lovely person and fantastic author!  I discovered her Northanger Abbey sequel, Nachtstürm Castle, last year and was fortunate to receive a copy from my family for Christmas!  I immensely enjoyed it.  Here’s my review if you are interested!  I got to know Emily through Twitter and her partcipation in Austenesque Extravaganza!  I’m so pleased and honored to be one of her guests in her Teatime Ten Interview Series!

Here is a snippet of our conversation:

Hello Meredith! And before everything else, I have to thank you for the wonderful Austenesque Extravaganza! What first drew you to this project?

Thank you, Emily!I hope it was an enjoyable experience for everyone! Austenesque Extravaganza was an idea I got while participating in some fantastic Austen-related blog events hosted by Austenprose, Book Rat, and My Jane Austen Book Club.

I thought I should try hosting my own blog event and dedicate it to all the Austenesque novels and authors that I love so much.It is really a fitting blog event for my blog because on Austenesque Reviews I mainly review Austenesque novels and interview Austenesque authors! When I was still on the fence about doing my own blog event, I brought it up to my wonderful and supportive husband and he gave me the push I needed to do it.

I wanted it be a celebration of my favorite genre of novels, and since I read all types of Austenesque novels – old, new, hard-to-find, indie, and publisher-issued – I wanted it to include as many authors and bloggers as I could.Back in May, I emailed around 100 authors and bloggers – all the Austenesque authors I could find an email address or facebook/twitter profile for – and I was astounded to discover that over 60 of them wanted to take part in Austenesque Extravaganza!

In addition, it was important for me to have my event be diverse – both within itself and from other Austen-related blog events!I didn’t want to have 31 days of the same type of post – I don’t think people would have found that interesting – so I came up with the themed days idea. That way it would be organized (somewhat) but still filled with variety!

Would you like to learn more about the reader behind Austenesque Reviews?  Curious to know what my MOST favorite Austenesque novels are?  Check out Emily’s interview with me HERE.

  1. Meredith, what a joy it was to get to know you better through the AE! And thank you for letting me interview you! I love that I got to get a peek into your library…and Sir Lawrence is very easy on the eyes!

  2. I loved reading the interview Meredith. The 1940s version, really? heehee…my husband says if he had watched that one first he might actually have liked the story….they all look alike to me. I can’t tell one Bennet girl from another…I think that is just so cute. I’m so happy to have gotten to know you a bit the past several months. Suzan
