Summer Reading 2011

Well, dear readers, school just finished two days ago and I’m now finally able to spend more time reading and working on my little blog!  Sorry, for the infrequency of posts lately, the end of the school year is always hectic for teachers!

Now that I officially feel like I’m on summer vacation, I plan on doing a massive amount of summer reading.  I’m so looking forward to it, I’ve decided to make a list of all the books I plan on reading.

MY SUMMER READING LIST:

There Must Be Murder by Margaret Sullivan
A Weekend with Mr. Darcy by Victoria Connelly
A Wife for Mr. Darcy by Mary Simonsen
Paint and Piano by Kerri Bennett Williamson
Jane and the Man of the Cloth by Stephanie Barron
The Dashwoods’ Sisters Secrets of Love by Rosie Rushton
A Match for Mary Bennet by Eucharista Ward
Pride, Prejudice, and Jasmin Field by Melissa Nathan

As you can see, I picked some light reads. It wasn’t intentional, it’s just what I have in my TBR pile, but works out beautifully! Some of these books will also help me complete the two challenges I’m participating in this year: The Sense and Sensibility Bicentenary Challenge and Being a Jane Austen Myster Challenge, both hosted by the wonderful Laurel Ann Nattress of Austenprose.com!

What is on your summer reading list?  Do you like light beach reads? Trying to finish some reading challenges?  Or do you hope to make a big dent in your TBR pile?

  1. I’m in love with your summer reading list!! I can’t wait to read your thoughts on them and more than likely will be adding them to my TBR list!

  2. Happy reading, Meredith! Your list looks fun.
I hope to put a HUGE dent in my TBR list. I am backlogged right now. Sigh.

I absolutely love the title “There Must Be Murder”. Sounds very Agatha Christie-like.

I have “A Weekend with Mr. Darcy” and “A Wife for Mr. Darcy” waiting as well. I hope we both enjoy them!

  3. Your book list looks fun. I’ve read A Match for Mary Bennet. I’m looking forward to reading Mary Simonsen’s relatively soon. I have the others on my tbr/wish list I believe. I am currently reading Agnes Grey, Eliza’s Daughter, My Cousin Jane or something similar. Then I was Jane Austen’s Best Friend. I just finished Henry Tilney’s Diary and enjoyed it.

I’m glad you survived the school year and hope you have a great summer.
I’m so glad I can finally connect on here again.

  4. Interesting choice of novels for summer reading. Looking forward to reading your review on A Match for Mary Bennet and A Weekend with Mr Darcy which I will attempt next.

Your conversation and participation are always welcome; please feel free to "have your share."
