Pemberley Ball – November 18-20

HUZZAH! Velvet of vvb32 reads is once again hosting her fabulous Pemberley Ball!!

WHAT: Pemberley Ball is an interactive blog party where guests travel back in time, assume Regency names, partake in delicious delicacies, and encounter characters from Pride and Prejudice.

WHEN: November 18-20, 2010

WHERE:  vvb32reads

I had the pleasure of attending Velvet’s Pemberey Ball last year and had a magnificent time.  I enjoyed reading guest blogs from various Austenesqe authors, learning about various types of food and refreshments, and entering some fantastic giveaways!

Authors rumored to be apart of this year’s festivities are: Regina Jeffers, Karen Wasylowski, Monica Fairview, Mary Simonsen, Alexa Adams, and Amanda Grange!  In addition, I would bet anything that Velvet has some awesome giveaways lined up!!

MY OFFICIAL RSVP

Name: Elizabeth Jane Knightley

I know it is not the most creative or unique name, but I love the name Elizabeth!  I have already told my husband that if we have a girl, her name must be Elizabeth.  I chose Jane in honor of my beloved Jane Austen.  And I decided on Knightley because it is a very attractive last name and the last name of Keira Knightley, one of my favorite actresses!

My Ball Gown

My attire for this evening will be a simple white ball gown made of muslin in a style similar to the gown Keira Knightley wore to the Netherfield Ball in Pride and Prejudice (2005).

My Darcy

Since Velvet asked that we include an image of our favorite Darcy I will take this opportunity to include my favorite image of Colin Firth as Mark Darcy!  I know this is a bit singular, but I am much more enamored with Colin Firth as Mark Darcy than Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.

However, he is not my escort this evening.  My escort is the tall, dark, and handsome man pictured below – my husband, “Mr. Daniel Alexander Knightley.”

I hope to see you there!

  1. Dear Lady Elizabeth
It is grand indeed to see you in attendance again this year’s Pemberley Ball. And wonderful to see that Lord Knightley is faring well.
    &etc,
    Lady Vee

  2. Love your Mr. Darcy pic… that’s thinking out of the box and a great choice! Wish I would have thought of it. See you at the ball.
    Yours Respectfully,
    Lady Abigail Meriwether
