  1. I would like to know that which of these sequels are about Edmund, do you know? Because normally the sequels are about Susan Price or some other character but not Edmund. 🙁 (other than Edmund Bertram’s Diary which was amazing).

  2. Sure thing, Milka. It does seem that a lot of the of focus is on minor characters it seems.

Maria of Birkthwaite, A Jane Austen Sequel – Maria Rushworth
    – Edmund Bertram’s Diary – Edmund
    – Central Park – a modern retelling of Mansfield Park
    – Mansfield Revisited – Susan Price
    – The Youngest Miss Ward – prequel to Mansfield Park
    – The Reluctant Baronet – Thomas Bertram
    – Mansfield Letters – Fanny and Henry
    – The Admiral’s Lady – Henry and Mary Crawford
    – Mansfield Park: A Play
    – Mansfield Park: An Alternative Ending – 7 chapters that change the ending of Mansfield Park
    – Mrs. Rushworth – Maria Rushworth
    – Miss Abigail’s Part, or Version and Diversion – Julia Bertram’s maid
    – Ladysmead – Mrs. Norris and Maria
    – Susan Price, or Resolution – Susan Price

I have read Edmund Bertram’s Diary by Amanda Grange, and it is wonderful! I have also read Central Park by Debra White Smith and if you don’t mind the Christian undertones, it is a nice modern adaption to Mansfield Park.

  3. I hope you enjoy it, Milka. It takes place in New York City (Central Park).

I would like to try reading the ones about Maria Rushworth, I think it would be interesting to see what happens to her after her scandalous marriage. I also am intrigued to read the alternative ending one and Mansfield Letters.

  4. That’s cool, I love New York City. I will definitely look for that book, maybe my mom buys it to me as a christmas present. 😀

Yeah, the alternative ending one could be interesting.

  5. Thanks Marie.

I have only been at this for three weeks. I noticed we have a lot of similar reading tastes. I look forward to comparing notes on books we have both read and finding new ones on your blog.

  6. I read Edmund Bertram’s Diary but don’t remember if I was enthused or not. I have to reread it. I had no idea there were so many other stories out there. Looks like many to look forward to.

  7. Hi Milka,
I can’t promise you an Edmund-inspired book I’m afraid, but I do have what you might think is an interesting angle on him – and Fanny of course! I’ve always loved Mary Crawford, and felt for years that Austen weighed the scales against her, so you won’t be surprised to find she’s my heroine.

  8. Thanks so much for keeping the list updated. I’m so happy to see new Mansfield stories and hope for more in the future
