Hi readers!  I’m so excited to welcome author Pamela Lynne to Austenesque Reviews today! I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Pamela!  Her Pride and Prejudice variations are fabulous, and I adore her original characters – especially Sebastian!  Today Pamela Lynne is here to talk about her new Regency series! Woot!!  A whole new group of books with original characters!!  In her post you will learn about the three heroes that will be spotlighted in this new series!

Hello everyone! Thank you so much, Meredith, for hosting me again here at Austenesque Reviews. Today, I would like to introduce readers to the men of the Granville family. These men, and the women who love them, are at the heart of my upcoming release Surrendering the Past, and the subsequent books of the Granville Legacy Series.

These Granville men are from a proud Norman lineage and share the common fair traits of that heritage, except for the black sheep of the family—Captain Richard Granville. Richard has a reputation as a ruffian, the wild, ungrateful son of a powerful man. But who is he really, and to what lengths will he go to break the patterns of the past?

Duty, sacrifice, honor—they can all be damned to hell with Litchfield, your mother and father, and anyone else who expects you lay yourself upon the altar of obligation and convenience. I have spent most of my life running from that man and I will spend the rest of it keeping you safe from him, whether you like it or not.”

Mr. Julian Hale is a Granville cousin but, unlike most of his relations, he was raised to be a man of honor and integrity. Though his is highly sought after in the highest social circles, he has cloistered himself in his home with only his duty to his estate and the regrets of the past to keep him company. His spirits are lifted, however, when he makes the acquaintance of a spirited young lady with a wild streak that could prove far too tempting.

Why would you seat yourself apart from the others, Miss Amy? Was the conservation last night so bothersome that you cannot stand any more of it?”

I do not believe I spoke much to your uncle or cousin.”

Julian chuckled. He knew he was being as childish as Richard, but he did enjoy getting under this girl’s skin. “No, I believe I was the privileged one who got to enjoy your company for most of dinner.”

Amy repressed a snort. “I do not believe you enjoyed it at all. You disagreed with everything I said. It was most ungentlemanly.”

To disagree with you?”

Yes. It is rude for a gentleman to disagree with a lady.”

Is that the custom in that little village you are from, to agree with everything a lady says? It must be quite burdensome to always be right.”

Amy began to say something but closed her mouth in a tight line. Julian leaned in and spoke low. “You were going to say you are always right, were you not?”

She looked at him again, and as the corners of his mouth rose, the straight line that her own tried to maintain wavered. “You are quite irksome, sir.”

Wesley Granville, Viscount Ashly, is the heir to the Earl of Litchfield, and Richard’s elder brother. Committed to duty and determined to act the way he is supposed to, Wesley has quietly accepted that his relationship with his brother will always be strained. Having no one with whom to share his many secrets, he hardens himself to most of the people in his life. There will always be one, however, who brings out the best in him.

You are cold.” Wesley adjusted her shawl around her shoulders. “Ice is hanging from the eaves outside and you are draped in thin muslin. You should take better care.”

Rachel smiled. “It is a bit early to act brotherly. You are in no position to chastise me, yet.”

We are old friends. We have danced together at every ball and party for the last six years, been frequent card and charade partners, taken numerous walks and have shared more words between us than we could ever count. I believe I have earned the right to be concerned about your welfare.”

Perhaps, but you will still not talk me out of my muslin.” It was Wesley’s turn to shiver as his mind denied any reaction to that statement. “I may be a harridan, but I will look pretty while causing my disturbances.”

Wesley laughed. “You are far beyond just pretty and I fear your cleverness will get you in far more trouble than I can get you out of. I did promise to look after you.”

Just like that, old ghosts returned, sending the sweet blush that had decorated her cheeks during their banter retreating, to be replaced by a paleness better suited to a languishing lover. Wesley felt the loss immediately.

What do you think? These men have sent me through a tumult of emotions as I have been writing and I am so relieved to finally be able to share them with you. Surrendering the Past is currently up for presale on Amazon and you can read the first three chapters at the Vanity and Pride Press website. We are also having a giveaway! Enter with the rafflecopter link below for your chance to win one of three prizes. Thanks again for having me, Meredith. I hope everyone has a great day!

Oh, Pamela!!! I cannot wait to spend more time with these three men and become utterly wrapped up in their stories!!  It is hard to decide which one I might like best…I am intrigued by the exchange between Wesley and Rachel, but Richard’s fierce determination and protectiveness is very swoony! And the cover for Surrendering the Past is stunning!!! Love it so much!  Thanks so much for sharing these enticing teasers, Pamela!  I wish you all the best with the upcoming release!

When he learns she is betrothed to his father, the conniving and dangerous Earl of Litchfield, shadows of the past descend upon Richard, bringing along memories of a tortuous childhood and his failure to protect the person he had loved most.

Jane Dawson would pay any price to renew her family’s happiness, but is the cost of marrying Lord Litchfield too high? Congratulations on the release of your new book, Pamela. 🙂

  2. I am really excited about this series! Congratulations Pamela! I would have to agree with you, Meredith, that Sebastian is a favourite of mine as well! I love the cover of this book and can’t wait to read it! The first 3 chapters were definitely intriguing! I don’t suppose, if I have a U.S. mailing address (my sister) that I could qualify for the bigger prize? Just wondering! Thank you for the chance to win!

  3. I love Pamela’s P&P stories and from the excerpts I have read I think I will love this too. At first I didn’t think I would like Wesley so much but that has changed now I have read the piece above. Julian and Richard I was already disposed to like. I look forward to reading this.
    Thanks for this post Meredith.

  4. This cover jumps off the page. I love everything about it – the swirls, her eyes – even her lipstick. You have such a tight way of writing, Pamela, where each word holds power over the reader. I’m excited you are branching out and wish you every success.

I love your enthusiasm, Meredith. I feel the same.

  5. I think Sebastian was awesome, not sure if you can top him though. 😉

I really like that the characters have a sense of humor and mischievousness. Look forward to a new series from you Pamela!!!

    1. LOL, Danielle, I’m not even going to try to top Sebastian. The hope is all the characters have their own charms and reasons for you to like/hate them. Thanks so much and good luck in the giveaway!

  6. Oh neat! Finally my curiosity is answered with the details on the new series. Look forward to these even more.

  7. The cover of your new book is absolutely stunning, Pam! And I’m sure what’s inside will match it, having read and loved all of your other works. The new series sounds most intriguing and I’m definitely wondering how Jane will manage to extricate herself from her betrothal to Richard’s father. I must pop over to VPP and check out the first three chapters.

Thanks so much for the giveaway. I’m only eligible for the ebook but I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed! It’ll be going on my Wish List anyway.

    Good luck with the launch!

  8. Ahhhhh, as always, Pam, I love every word you write. What a fantastic selection of teasers you’ve given us here, with these three snippets. You have a way of creating amazing characters that stay alive with the reader long after the book is finished. Surrendering the Past is working its way up my ‘to be read’ list and reading this post has only made me more impatient to get to it. Oh, and did I mention how much I love your cover?! All the best with the book, Pam. And thank you Meredith for hosting this blog post!

    1. Thanks so much for checking out Pam’s post, Jessie! I think you are absolutely right about Pam’s characters – each one has quickly engaged my interest and curiosity! 😉

  9. I have enjoyed other books by Pamela. This series is a departure from JAFF and seems to be in the class of books I read before I discovered JAFF. It sounds intriguing. Good luck with the release.
