Of the ones I haven’t read, which do YOU recommend?

**Think something is missing from this list?  That’s probably because it will be on the lists for RETELLINGS and ALTERNATE POINT-OF-VIEW novels.

Well, you could throw Imperative in there and then you’d have all of my Regency Alternate Path, Variation, or whatever term everyone has chosen, stories on the list! Definitely not Alternate Universe, that sounds like science fiction to me.

If you’d like a good cry before reaching your HEA, I’d read Twilight of the Abyss.

Hi Linda! Thanks for stopping by. I’m not sure since I haven’t read it yet, but based on the description I was thinking your Imperative series might belong on the Alternate Path list, since your twist occurs pre-Meryton Assembly. Thanks for the recommendation, I have heard good things about Twilight of the Abyss!

Hi Meredith! Imperative begins at Netherfield when Jane is ill. Memory begins when Mr. Darcy tells Fitzwillian that he is dying, so maybe that is the one you need to move!

I might of got the mixed…oops! Thanks for setting me straight! Both sound great!

I think I’ve read 20 on the list so far. I have lots of others on my tbr list. smiles….
I love that you chose alternate path.
Of the ones you haven’t got linked I can’t decide which I enjoy the most of these 2: Longbourn’s Unexpected Matchmaker, Assumed Engagement.
I think you’re right about the Sense and Sensibility suggestion.

Good for you! That’s almost half!

I think Alternate Universe made everyone feel like the story was sci-fi. Not sure if it is correct or not, but who cares?

I REALLY want Assumed Engagement. I was hoping Sourcebooks would pick it up. Thanks for stopping by and contributing!

Really enjoyed the Linda Wells books on your list. By Force of Instinct was good- I think there are two versions of this one so make sure you get the newest. Apprehension and Desire, Deception, and Twilight of the Abyss were decent reads

I just started counting and realized that I’ve read more than half with most of the other half on my wish list. Love these category and lists your making- so easy to consult for finding new ones to read.

Hello Sophia Rose! I am very interested in reading a Linda Wells novel, the premises sound soooo intriguing! I have read By Force of Instinct (back in 2008) before I started my blog, but I would love to reread it and write a review!

I think you are as much as a fan-girl of this drama as I am! 🙂 I am so glad you are finding the lists helpful!

Those Dashwood girls deserve a bit of fun & comic relief. It’s one reason I’m such a big fan of Mary Simonsen’s Anne Elliot.

I thought Longbourn’s Unexpected Matchmaker and A Noteworrthy Courtship were good. However, I LOVE Rainy Days! I also think Falling for Mr. Darcy looks good. I may just have to break down & buy that one.

I really like the sound of A Notworthy Courtship, I think on the author’s site I read it’s a little like “You’ve Got Mail!” One of my favorites!

I have read 22 of these so far and most of the rest of them are on my list (I’d not heard of Falling for Mr Darcy – gonna have to check that one out!) So much Austenesque awesomeness to choose from!

Twilight of the Abyss is a tearjerker, along with Lewis Whelchel’s Rocks in the Stream (I think it’d be considered a Variation. I saw Dearly Beloved on the list, which I haven’t read yet, and it reminded me of RITS). If you like a really emotional, I’m-gonna-be-with-Lizzy-no-matter-what-the-cost Darcy you will like FD: An Honorable Man.

Hi Monica! I kinda stalk the Meryton Press website and that’s how I learned about their new release, Falling for Mr. Darcy. Thanks for the recs! I really do like emotional stories, I appreciate your input!

I recently found this site through a recommendation over at AHA. Thank you for this list and the very useful reviews. I would like to recommend one recently published book for you to add to the list, read, review: Unequal Affections by Lara S. Ormiston came out in January 2014, both paperback and Kindle versions. Previously it was posted at DWG (author’s pen name is Suzanne O). It’s a Regency variation, where Elizabeth accepts Darcy at Hunsford for economic reasons although tells him that she doesn’t love him. I haven’t read the published version yet, but the online one was a favourite, a very popular story on DWG. Thanks again, and I’ll be sure to come by and read more on this site.

You’ve read Linda Berdoll, Syrie James, Pamela Aiden, KaraLynn Mackrory, C.P. Odom and Gail McEwen & Tina Moncton, right? I thought you had…
