The Earl's ConquestThe Courtship of Darcy’s Grandmother!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

In her most recent Pride and Prejudice variation, An Unwavering Trust, author L.L. Diamond introduced readers to Darcy’s grandmother, the Dowager Countess of Matlock, Rebecca Fitzwilliam. I’m sure I am not the only reader who found the Dowager Countess – with her no-nonsense manner, compassionate heart, and sharp wit – a An Unwavering Trustwonderfully fascinating addition to the story. She is the type of character that must be universally adored and admired. I’m so glad that Ms. Diamond created a prequel to An Unwavering Trust that illustrates more of Rebecca’s character and her marriage to her husband.

This sweet novella begins with Elizabeth on the brink of giving birth to their second child. The midwife has been called for and Elizabeth is looking to distract herself from the labor pains. Hello readers!  Are you a fan of original characters?  I am!  And when I read An An Unwavering TrustUnwavering Trust by L.L. Diamond earlier this year – Darcy’s grandmother, Rebecca, The Dowager Countess of Matlock stole the show!  I’m so happy that Ms. Diamond decided to give her a story of her own in her newly published The Earl’s Conquest!

Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down and speak with Rebecca, The Dowager Countess of Matlock (née Rebecca Fairchild) for the first time since she told me her amazing love story. I’d never interviewed someone before, so I requested questions from readers who submitted some very insightful inquiries for the impertinent grandmother of Fitzwilliam Darcy.

L.L. Diamond: Thank you for agreeing to speak with me once more, Lady Matlock.

LLD: I was, and I enjoyed writing it immensely. I have had a few favourable comments and reviews from readers as well.

LM: (Blushes) I understand they have questions for me. Continue reading »

Hi there, reader friends!  I hope your November has had a lovely start!  Ours has started off rainy.  But that’s okay!  I have plenty of blogging and reviewing to catch up on! 😉

As you might remember, Mr. Bingley and I were in Cancun, Mexico last week!  He is in a band that was invited to travel and play in a resort for week and I, my brother, and some of our friends decided to tag along!  It was a lovely restful week with some fun exciting excursions.  If you recall from our posts about Colombia, Mr. Bingley and I do like us some extreme sports!

The resort was beautiful in sunshine or rain, but lucky for us it only rained one afternoon!

The band played three shows which we all attended (and danced a little at!)  Mr. Bingley is the sax player. Continue reading »
