Austenesque

Everyone welcome avid Austenesque reader, Tamara!  I found Tamara on her blog, My Kids Led Me Back to Pride and Prejudice, last December! I saw she was participating in Austenprose’s Pride and Prejudice Bicentenary Challenge and wanted to check our her reviews.  After commenting on some of Tamara’s reviews, she returned the favor and started commenting on some of mine! I’m so happy Tamara and I our blogging buds!

Hello Meredith and fellow readers, I am delighted to be here, thank you for having me. Discovering JAFF triggered my obsession with anything Austenesque, to be specific Elizabeth & Darcy! Three years on and my obsession shows no signs of waning. I live in England with my hubby, three children and our dog. I am studying for my degree in social work, whilst trying to read every JAFF ever written! Continue reading »

Austenesque

Everyone welcome avid Austenesque reader, Anji!  It was just about a year ago that Anji found her way to Austenesque Reviews and started to participate in our conversation!  So happy to know Anji through our mutual love of Austenesque literature!

You:  Tell us about yourself

I’ve been a pharmacist for 37 years, the last 21 working as a locum; married, also for 37 years and we have one son. Like you, Meredith, my husband is much more Bingley than Darcy. It’s me that has the “Darcy” moments! We’ve been living in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, for most of that time. Where we live, we’re only a few minutes’ drive away from the most glorious countryside possible. We have a very old house (250+ years old, two one-up one-down farm workers’ cottages that were knocked into one in the 1850s we think) which means it was almost new in Jane Austen’s time. It’s been in my husband’s family for nearly a century. It has a large garden, too. So, when I’m not working, helping with property maintenance or gardening, I love to read, always have, right from, I guess, when I first learned. I’m an unapologetic sci-fi geek as well as a Jane Austen fan. This also includes what I like to watch in the way of TV and films as well as books. I’m also quite good at cross-stitch and crochet work. In the kitchen, my great love (and reasonable talent) is bread making and I’m currently trying to get to grips with the mysterious alchemy that is sourdough bread. Continue reading »

Austenesque

Everyone welcome avid Austenesque reader, Jennifer Leiker!  It’s hard to figure out when and where Jennifer and I first met online, but I think we might have first met on Facebook in 2012-13.  I think our mutual interest in Jane Austen and Austenesque authors brought us together! 😉  I’m so happy to have Jennifer visit Austenesque Reviews and share a little more about herself!

You:  Tell us about yourself

Hello everyone,  My name is Jennifer Leiker and I live in Reno, Nevada.  I enjoy traveling, reading and photography. I  visited the British Isles just this past year, but it wasn’t my first time to England.

My 2nd time to England I called my Jane Austen trek.  I went to Bath for the Jane Austen Festival, which falls on my birthday!  I also went in search of Lyme Hall and Chatsworth, both beautiful places to call Pemberley.

I have also been to France, Italy, Turkey and Austria. I have a trip planned to celebrate my 40th birthday in September to Spain, south of France and Andorra.
